Probablement le roman qui recoupe toutes les thématiques de Peyrebrune. C’est une fresque de plusieurs femmes parisiennes issues de toutes les conditions sociales.
Les femmes qui tombent sont celles qui doivent abandonner leur honneur auprès des hommes afin de survivre… une femme seule est condamnée à vivre dans la misère. Son seul refuge et son seul moyen de préserver sa vertu c’est la mort 🤙
On manquera pas de remarquer les nombreuses réf à Nana de Zola (la Nina à la fois comédienne ratée et courtisane).
