Vinny Carfano is determined to show me that his last name doesn’t mean he’s a bad man, and I’m determined not to listen. Until he gives me no choice...
Ever since my mom got remarried a few years ago, it’s felt like it’s been just my nonno and I against the world. I’d do anything for the man that helped raise me, including putting my senior year of college on hold for a semester to help him run the deli he’s owned for the past forty years.
But even when he recovers and I’m back at school, I still check on him every day, and he repays me by pushing me back out the door, telling me I need to stop hovering and go out and have some fun again. Of course, I don't think he knew that night would flip both of our lives upside down. It was the night I met him.
Vinny Carfano.
He tells me his name and I know I need to walk away. Nothing good can come from being with a Carfano. But he doesn’t make it easy with his charming smile and eyes that hold promises I want him to make good on.
From that night onward, he’s there at every turn, inserting himself into my life and fixing problems I don’t need him to fix. And when I tell him that, he just doubles down, liking how I react when I’m mad at him too much. Probably because it involves my lips on his.
It’s why he continues to raise the bar on his crazy gestures, until he goes a step too far and I get my revenge the only way I think he’ll listen. Of course, I didn't account for him taking the opportunity to blackmail me into both accepting his help and to go out with him. He’s relentless. And I think he knows I secretly love it.

Wild Ace - Rebecca Gannon
To start off with this is a Mafia romance and i am a sucker for a mafia romance i LOVE these kinda of books, this is actually 5th book in a series (but can be read standalone).
The Story/Plot - Vinny is captivated by Lexi from the moment he lays eyes on her very and instantly seems to be possessive of her calling her my girl and wife within the first few chapters of the book. Lexi also seems to be in two minds, she knows hes dangerous because of who his family is all while also wanting to be around him. I'm not the biggest fan of this being so 'instant' in the storyline they have met once so far (as i am writing this I'm about 20% into the book) but so far the book is interesting and i definitely want to keep reading. I will add more to this once i finish the book to give final thoughts
Final collective thoughts - The book is Dual POV so you get chapters from Lexi's view and from Vinny's view. I enjoyed the story and the spice was good not to much, not to little. I enjoyed the story and the spice was good not to much, not to little. I do however feel the story was a little rushed and everything happens rather quickly at the beginning of the story.
I enjoyed the book completely and definitely want to check out more from this author in the future.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have to say, Vincenzo Carfano stole the show in this hot mafia romance. Maybe I just want a capable man to sweep me off my feet. Or maybe it's the absolute swagger he has while being the sweetest and most observant paramour.
Alexis is the grand-daughter of a proud Italian immigrant family, complete with their own deli in a mafia-run town. But the twist here is that the mafia is completely run by second generation boys since their elders were brutally murdered. And they just happen to run the largest casino around. Alexis has been counting cards and raking in wins at the local casino to provide for her family, but she's always stayed away from the Carfanos.
They run into each other in a nightclub and Vinny in enraptured. Lexi was pretty keen too until she realizes who he is. She runs from him, but he shows up to support her anyways as her grandfather is attacked and robbed. It was impressive to watch her stand up against his constant attempts. But I was cheering for Vinny the whole time. That man will make you believe in love again. I think he does 3/4 of the talking in this but he's so open and earnest that I enjoyed it.
After the half way point there is constant smut but nothing too crazy. Talking about recording themselves was hot but didn't happen. Lexi pushes back in some hilarious ways and has a couple close calls to keep you on your toes. All in all, a charming mafia romance. Not very dark or perilous.
Note: I received an e-copy via BookSirens. It passes the standalone test as I have not read the other books. But the cameos from other characters got me interested in Alec & Tessa's book, and Nico & Cassie's story (if that gets written).
Heat level- they do the things (including visits to Australia). The female P word and the male C word are used.
Series? Y
Safety: Y. There’s no cheating/sharing, no OW/OM drama, No S. Violence, no cliffhanger, and there’s a HEA.
Triggers- violence, explicit erotic content, language in two languages.
Tropes- He Falls First, Instalust, Do-Si-Do With The Mafioso, It Sounds Better In Italian, The Gambler
What I liked- Nonno rocks. His deli recipes sound delicious, especially the soppressata with the secret red pepper spread. And the main characters are likable. She’s independent and loving while he’s charming and considerate.
What I didn’t- the author didn’t include the recipe for the soppressata spread.
Verdict- enjoyable
I received an advance review copy for free and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
I am, and I always will be a sucker for a good mafia romance, and Wild Ace was AMAZING!!! This is book five in the Carfano Crime Family series, but it can be read as a standalone. I loved Lexi and Vinny, and especially how captivated and possessive he was of her. This book was spicy, and captivating and I can't wait to go back and read the other books in this series.
I really enjoyed this one. I have not read the others in the series but now that I’ve read this one I think I’ll go back and read the others.
Everything in this book was great! I loved all the Carfanos and their girls. Everyone seemed really good for each other and to each other. I loved Cassie and Nico so much and already cant wait for their book!
The length of the book was really great too because it was done so well that there weren’t parts that were slow or dragged and the relationship didn’t feel rushed because they had so much chemistry it was believable.
I loved how close Lexi and her Nonno were and how she’d literally do anything for him. I loved that he was so supportive of her and pushed her. I loved how Vinnyo was so good with him too and how much nonno loved Vinny and was rooting for him and Lexi.
I also really loved both main characters. And that doesn’t always happen. Even in five star books sometimes I love one and like the other. But that was not the case this time.
I loved Lexi because she was so strong and daring. Plus she was crazy stubborn and never wanted to ask for help which some people might consider a flaw but I am the exact same way so she was really easy for me to relate too. I also loved how immediately she felt drawn to Vinny but how she didn’t give in for a while despite all her do for her because it fit with her personality and made sense that she’d be wary of a connection like that.
I also adored Vinny. I mean he literally had it all. I don’t know how Lexi managed to resist so long because I would have been done for. A hot, sexy, sweet, compassionate, caring guy saw you and immediately knew he wanted you…then went after you with everything he had. He listens to you and tries to help your nonno because he know how much him and his shop mean to you…he takes you on amazingly romantic and thoughtful dates…keeps proving to you how good of a guy he is…telling you how beautiful and sexy you are and how he knew he wanted you from the minute he saw you…has a family that he lives and would do anything for… want to have a family with you and to make you his wife… supports all that you do and are even when he doesn’t always agree with it…like goddamn I would have melted right away. But I loved how Lexi resisted and he kept at it until she finally gave in and he got the girl. And how once he did get the girl his affection for her didn’t lessen at all.
I so grateful for the dual POV once again because it is so needed. I loved Lexi and am so glad to get her thoughts and know what she was thinking and going through but this book simply would not have been as food with just her POV. Vinny’s POV was mind blowing because getting that look into his thoughts was heart wrenching because of how you got to see how much he loved Lexi. He was so romantic and sweet his thoughts were almost too much for me sometimes in the best way. I wasn’t a guy who treats me like Vinny does lexi and thinks about me in the ways Vinny does Lexi. That’s all I want now.

Wild Ace is the fifth book in Carfano Crime Family series by Rebecca Gannon. Every book in this series can be read as a standalone. This story is compelling from the first sentence to last. Emotional, suspenseful, heartwarming and heartbreaking. It's one sizzling, action-packed, mystery adventure. The storytelling is amazing and captivating with so much depth and heart. Wild Ace has it all: suspense, mafia - organized crime, mystery, passion, anguish, chemistry, betrayal wrapped up in darkness. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. What a wild ride with a lot of secrets and tension.
Vinny and Lexi will steal your heart. Their chance meeting at the nightclub where their paths cross change everything. Vinny being a part of the Carfano Italian crime mafia family in Atlantic City, needs to be calm, collected with a cool head. He might seem intense and unapproachable but it's his way to protect himself and people he cares about. As soon as he lays eyes on Lexi his world shifted, knowing that everything is going to be different. Lexi is afraid of mafia. She just wants to take care of her grandfather. Lexi is sassy, feisty, determined and very independent. Their connection is instant. These two lit the pages with their chemistry. I loved their back and forth, how Lexi was head strong because it was very difficult for her to accept help and Vinny just wanted to make her life easier. Vinny was very protective and possessive of Lexi. He also showed his softer side. They are a perfect match. The flow and pace of the story as well as secondary characters added to their romance and development.
This was a perfect addition to this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Recommended.
Excellent book! Loved it! A mafia story without the typical blood and guts, but instead lots of love and cuddles. Alexis' nonno (grandfather) has run a neighborhood deli for many years, and she grew up helping him. After the passing of her father and grandmother, only Lexi and Nonno were left, since she really didn't have any relationship with her mother.. Then one Friday evening, after her nonno insists she go out and have some fun, Lexi and her friend Cassie check out a club called "The Aces," where she meets Vinny Carfano, the local Mafia boss. He is immediately smitten, but Lexi is not suitably impressed (and doesn't know who he is at this point). She eventually checks her phone and finds several messages from her mother. She informs Lexi that there has been a robbery at the deli, and that Nonno was taken to the hospital. Vinny insists on taking her to see her nonno, and she learns who Vinny is and that her nonno knows him and speaks highly of him. That raises him in her esteem and allows her to accept a date with him as well as his help in repairing the deli. Their relationship is now on the fast track, thanks to Nonno.
What else will happen? I'll let you find that out for yourself. This story is well-written, with engaging characters and smart dialog, along with unexpected twists and turns, including Lexi's introduction to the Russian Bratva, where she takes them for nearly $.5M in order to recoup her nonno's lost cash from the robbery, along with his retirement savings and the costs to repair and update the deli. Vinny doesn't know what she's doing, but thanks to one of his men who is very good at hacking systems and finding people, he finds her in the nick of time, before she gets into any real trouble.
If you like "light mafia" drama with lots of unexpected warmth before the pot boils over, you'll love this story!

Part of the Carfano Crime Family each book can be read as a standalone with an overprotective sexy and the women who captures his undivided attention rather she wants it or not so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!! Vinny sexy as all get out Carfano running Atlantic city, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, takes what he wants, when he wants, or makes it hard to say no when he wants you, and the moment he lays eyes on the beauty he knows she will be his it is only a matter of time. Alexis is a sweetheart who loves her family, in her last year of college but puts it on hold to take care of her grandfather helping him out for a bit, afraid of the mafia especially of the stories she has heard, and so upon returning back to school but checking on her grandfather who of course pushes her to go enjoy young life she meets a Carfano yes she recognizes him but wants nothing to do with him because he scares her and excites her at the same time. However, what she doesn’t know the more she pushes him away the more he wants her but will all his shenanigans get her to go out with him, if she does go out with him will he show her that he isn’t a bad man or not always a bad man, will he show her he will always protect her, and will it lead them to their own HEA?
Wild Aces is the fifth installment in Rebecca Gannon’s Carfano Crime Family series. In it she chronicles the romantic journey of Vincenzio Carfano (a Carfano cousin) and Alexis Manzano. He works jointly with his cousin, Alec Carfano, running The Aces, the Carfano casino in Atlantic City. She is a college student who helps her grandfather, Frank Manzano, run his deli. Her grandfather and her mother are the only relatives she has left. Her mother remarried to a wealthy businessman, Charles, and moved away from Atlantic City. Alexis has a remarkable hidden talent, she is a whiz at card counting. From time to time she uses it to build her bank account that pays for her college tuition. When her grandfather’s deli falls on hard time due the betrayal of one of his employees, Alexis returns to her skill to get the money. Destiny brings Alexis and Vinny together when she and her girlfriend, Cassie, go dancing at The Aces. Sparks fly between Alexis and Vinny. Once again, disaster hits her grandfather’s deli. She finds an underground poker game run by the Russian Bratva and keeps her actions hidden from her grandfather, Cassie, and Vinny. Will she be successful? Wil Vinny be able to safe her? How will her grandfather react when he learns they are an item? To find out, you must read this book.
Yet again, Ms. Gannon pens another captivating mafia romantic suspense. I enjoy writing style. Her plot line is fast moving. In this installment, she focuses more on the character-driven aspect of her plot as both Vinny and Alexis accept their attraction and work out the nuances of a relationship. I appreciate her skill with literary devices such as conversation dialog and internal monologues, dual POV, and descriptive language.
OMG, Vincenzo (Vinny) Carfano is a living romance heartthrob. Vinny and his cousin run the Carfano Italian Crime Family in his hometown of Atlantic City. Right now business is good and things are quiet. When his brother comes in from New York they go out to celebrate and that’s when he spots the beautiful seductive Alexis (Lexi) Manzato. Their attraction is immediate and riveting but Lexi knows who he is and she’s afraid of the Mafia. They connect in every way. From here on Vinny is the sweetest most attentive loving SEXY guy trying to win the “love of his life”. Lexi is very attracted to Vinny but VERY resistant. Lexi is in crisis now because she is overwhelmed. She’s in her last year of college majoring in something she doesn’t care about then she works at her Grandpa’s (Nonno) deli. Then to pay for her school and living expenses she gambles, winning because she counts cards. When there is major trouble at the deli Vinny who’s friends with her Nonno steps in to help. Help Lexi doesn’t want. She puts everything on her shoulders and this causes conflict with the protective caring Vinny. I LOVED VINNY, actually, I love all the characters and I love this entire wonderful LOVE STORY. For a change, there was no violence in this Mafia story. I received an advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and this is my opinion. Linda
Wild Ace is the first book that I have read by this author. It's the 5th book in the Carfano Crime Family series. A mafia romance with low angst, no violence, good characters, no cliffhanger and a HEA. The book packed a lot in the beginning, then moved pretty quickly but the ending felt really rushed to me. I recommend this book and found it interesting enough to read others in the series and if you like a steam with your romance then this one would be in your lane.
Vinny Carfano owns the night club that Lexi and her best friend just walked into. Vinny took one look at Lexi and had to get to know her but when she learns what his last name is she will not tell him her name at all. Vinny is so impressed with her sassy attitude that he proceeds to do different things to make her mad so she will confront him. That's his way of getting to see her until he blackmails her into a date.
Their first date is so romantic that Lexi realizes there is more to him than his mafia side. He continues to win her over with each sincere gesture that's she can't help but fall in love. Vinny knew from the first night he met her that she would eventually be his wife and he's about to make that happen very soon.
I won a digital copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway and in return promised a honest review.
Fun Girls night out, Chance Meeting, Two Strong Wills Collide With Lots of Steam
Lexi is a college senior who adores her Nonno, so she doesn’t hesitate to delay her senior year to care for him and help at their family owned deli when he tears his ACL. When her Nonno finally forces her out of the house for a night of fun he grabs her best friend, Cassie, and heads to The Aces, a club owned by the Carfano Family inside their casino. They meet Vinny and his brother and once she realizes he’s a Carfano she puts her guard up. The evening is interrupted when her mom calls and tells her that her Nonno is in the hospital after a robbery. Of course Vinny swoops in to assist and despite a lot of protests tries to right all the wrongs done to Lexi. As with the other books in this series, there is a bit of mystery and a whole lot of steam.
I really liked this book, it’s probably one of my favorites in the series so far. Not as dark as some of the previous book but juts as enjoyable and the attraction makes the steam levels off the charts. I loved Lexi and her hidden talent and how she doesn’t just all blindly into a relationship with Vinny and tries hard to hold onto her independence. Strong FMC that is perfect for a Mafia underboss.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It’s always great to go back to the Carfano Family world and I loved Vinny’s story. “Wild Ace” is a heartfelt, steamy and thrilling mafia romance that was a great addition to the series.
I loved Lexi from the start and it only grew as the book went on. She’s caring, smart and family is so important to her. Lexi is close with her grandpa and was willing to do anything she needed to do to help him. I loved that they had a family deli and it was the unlikely thing that brought her to Vinny. Vinny is one of the members of the Carfano family and has been in the casino business his whole adult life. His family might have a crime history but he has a heart of gold. He’s caring, protective and shows his affection with action. Even with Lexi being independent and wanting to fix things with the deli on her own, he was there every step of the way and helped her at every opportunity he got. He wasn’t afraid to show Lexi he was all in with her and his acts of service proved it. The chemistry between them was instant when they first met at the nightclub in the casino and only grew as the story went on. I loved the buildup to them finally giving into their attraction and giving their relationship a chance. The ending for them was perfect and I’m looking forward to starting the next book in the series.
It’s been a minutes since we have had a Carfano book! Vincent (Vinny) Carfano and Alexis (Lexi) Manzato – one is from a mafia family, then other is just trying to make ends meet and take care of her grandfather. But what happens when their paths cross at a nightclub and once Lexi realizes who he is, will she be able to stay away – not if Vinny has anything to do with it!
Lexi is sassy, feisty, and very independent. She is also caring, and fights for those she loves. Vinny just wants to make things easier for Lexi but offering (Blackmailing) to help take care of her grandfather’s deli. Lexi wants to resist, but Vinny makes it hard for her to do that. Vinny wants Lexi and he will do whatever it takes to make her his!
This story has it all – suspense, mystery, passion, chemistry, darkness, and betrayal. Buckle up! I am looking forward to the next book in this series and can’t wait to hear Nico’s story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another fantastic story in this world! The writing is great and so entertaining and immediately I felt comfortable with the characters and cared for them all. The plot was sweet and sexy and had family elements which I absolutely love! These two have a great attraction to one another and little by little they cannot stay away from one another.
Independence is great but sometimes you need to need to learn to lean on someone. And let them into your heart.
What chemistry! Right away they were quite the pair. She was smart and could do for herself and was fierce. But he was a match for this woman, a firecracker when she had to be and definitely one when her protective instincts were involved! They had a wonderful love story that keeps you entertained and I love the involvement of some familiar faces! This can definitely be a standalone. This was a mafia read but without the usual danger. This was another incredible couple and story!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This one wasn’t one of my favorites. And I’m left disappointed because I’ve been looking forward to Vinny’s story since book 1. He was so nice and sweet to Tessa that I couldn’t wait for his story. And he didn’t disappoint me in this one. He was just as incredible to Lexi. My issues with this book were mainly Lexi, and I felt it was too instant love in the beginning and too rushed in the end. And aside from her nonno’s deli being robbed, absolutely nothing happened. I didn’t like Lexi at all. Throughout the whole book she doubted Vinny, wasn’t sure if she could trust him, constantly insisted on doing things her way and by herself, and her attitude just sucked. I didn’t see any change until about 90% and by then it was too late for me to like her. I get she was used to doing things on her own, or so she claimed because even her stepdad helped her, but her attitude towards Vinny when he was helping her grandfather and her was just snotty and rude. And I was getting so sick of her. She found challenging Vinny fun, I found it irritating and annoying.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
OMG! Wow, another fantastic Carfano family member book six and this didn't disappoint, you have the Carfano Mafia family owning the Casino and Vincenzo is second in charge and he is wanting someone special in his life. Alexis Manzato is at college and when she isn't she is with her nonno working in the deli. Lexi has nothing planned so her best friend incouraged her to go dancing and that was the night Lexi met Vinny, Lexi didn't want to go out with Vinny because of who his family are, then Lexi received a phone call and that made her feel sick. Vinny raced Lexi off to where she had to go and he took care of a few things. Lexi hated that she would argue with everything he tried to do for her. Vinny would come to her rescue if she needed but she is very head strong but as soon as he kisses her she melts into his arms.
I took a chance on reading this book because it is a part of a series, however it is a standalone and you don’t need to read the other books to understand what is happening in this story. I really enjoyed this book and I ate it right up! I mean you doesn’t love a mafia bad boy who only simps for you.
Lexi and Vinny are a perfect match for each other. The author did a great job with both of their characters and they both developed well during the storyline. Lexi is such a badass and I absolutely enjoyed her character! I also loved her grandpa and the relationship she has with him.
I love when authors use dual pov and do it well, and this author definitely did that. The different povs gives the reader the full picture and I found that it didn’t skip around or feel choppy like it can sometimes.
I can’t wait to read more by this author! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

General Series Thoughts: Available on KU. I was obsessed with the prior four in the series. They were pretty dang close to perfection. So I went into this one with extremely high expectations.
Rebecca is a great writer, and this one is no exception. I didn't love it as much as the other four in the series, but it was still a good one. I thought the characters and their relationship were not quite as fleshed out as in some of the other books in the series.
But I really enjoyed it still. Steamy, dynamic, and adddicting series. I'll be anxiously awaiting to see what comes next.
Steam Meter: ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Scorching!

My goodness, Wild Ace was so exciting to see a strong woman who met a man captivated by her.
Cassie was a strong willed young woman who loved her grandfather. She felt that it was her responsibility to take care of him and help him in his deli. She was a college student who paid her tuition through gambling at the various casinos. Her best friend and grandfather told her she needed a night out. They went to the club to let their hair down when a young man asked if he could dance with her. When he found out her grandfather was hurt Vincenzo did everything he could to help her but her independence was getting in the way. Vincenzo didn’t give up and Cassie realized her grandfather knew and like him. I really enjoyed this beautiful love story. I have enjoyed reading the Carfano Crime Family series. Looking for to reading the new and exciting future books as the cousins find their wives and husbands. Hats off the Rebecca Gannon. Keep the stories coming!
Lexi is a pretty smart girl who works at her grandfathers deli when he pushes her to go for a night out. She ends up at a casino with her best friend Cassie and she attracts the attention of Vinny. The owner of the casino and a mafia man. Their romance is a bit of a whirlwind.
She fights at first but she eventually gives into him, as he takes care of her grandfather and her. This story was cute and it was quick. I enjoyed the spice and it’s always a treat when the men and place more importance on her pleasure than their own.
Vinny is also my kind of man. He fights hard for her and once he gets her he makes sure he keeps the same energy up to keep her.
Overall a cute story. Not heavy on the mafia tones, which is why it got four stars and not five. I like the danger and seeing his job in my mafia novels. But the romance and the spice kept me interested.

Vinny knew the moment he spotted her, he wanted her with a passion and that same night he knew he wanted to keep her.
Lexi was overwhelmed with him, and when she realized who he was, wanted to stay away from him but he wasn’t having any of it!
A hot steamy read, with lots of witty moments! I loved how Vinny’s personality shone throughout the storyline! He would do anything to get her attention. Yes he’s a gangster but he also cared about the community.
Lexi was one hot woman who knew what she wanted, she had a secret she wasn’t afraid to use if need be to get what she wanted and she loved her Nonno.
An exciting read, full of romance, laughter, lots of sexy erotic moments and a storyline to make you smile.

Vinny knows that he can’t resist Lexi the minute he sees her in the club, when she finds out who he is he finds it refreshing as most women want more from him not back away. Lexi couldn’t resist the gorgeous man in the club, until she finds out he’s a Carfano and she needs to stay away. The problem Vinny knows how to push her buttons, helping her whenever he can, helping her Nonno with his business, even if it’s only to get a reaction from her and get her to come see him. The problem is the more Lexi pushes him away the more Vinny shows her that he wants her and she’s finding it harder to resist him. She knows what his family is and does but Vinny is showing her that things aren’t always what they seem particularly for people they care about.
Vinnie sees Alexis at a club and knows he has to have her. So he tries, she says no. He tries again…. She keeps resisting him…
Watching Vinnie fall hard and fast for Alexis… I really enjoyed that… I understood her reluctance - his name - he's a Carfano and they own the city, reputation, everything. But he continues to show who he is…consistently. Their chemistry is smoking hot! 🔥🔥🔥 I do wish Alexis and Vinnie's emotions could have clicked a bit better. I do like the new characters we are meeting and I am excited to see some of them in the next book!
All in all, it is a good book and if you like spicy mafia books where he falls first and hardcore, I would give it a go!
The Carfanos are back and this is such a great addition to the series!
Great chemistry, great relationships (especially between our FMC and her Nonno) and great fun - especially due to the fact that the author brought our MMC Vinny into the loving relationship between Lexi and Nonno which helpped me fall for Vinny even more.
And that was where the magic in this book lies - the author's ability to wrap the reader and the characters in the pre-existing relationships in the story. You feel involved, included and a welcome pat of the character community.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I took a chance as the mafia theme doesn't normally thrill me, and wow, I'm glad I did. This is the first from this series I have read and now I'm desperate to read the rest.
The fiery nature of the characters keeps it alive and electric throughout, the naturally erotic nature of the characters makes for a thrilling read. I had a feeling about how the story would end, but I did not expect the continued trials Lexi (female lead) went through, but to have Vinny's (male lead) perspective fit so seamlessly into the story told was perfect and realising how his world was affected at every point made it that much more gripping.
Wild Ace by Rebecca Gannon is book 5 in the Carfano Crime Family Series. This is the story of Alexis Manzato 'Lexi' and Vincenzo Carfano ' Vinny'. Alexis has just one more year of college but she puts that aside to come help her grandfather with his Deli. Vinny and his family are a Crime family but are only dangerous to those that are bad. When he spots Alexis, Vinny is totally taking with her and her only. Alexis maybe attracted to Vinny but she isn't falling for him and his crime family. Enjoyed this book. Love this author and I hope to read more from her soon!
I loved these two. Vinny was so amazing in how he went for exactly what he wanted, and wasn’t going to let Lexi get away. He was beyond sweet, yet protective without taking away her independence. I think my favorite piece of this one though was the genuine concern and care Vinny gave to Lexi’s nonno. It was a fresh breath to have a story without unnecessary drama with another woman or characters who just don’t communicate and then make assumptions.

Wow this book was fast paced and I love that Lexi is a kick a** strong female who doesn’t run from her responsibilities or her family. Vinny isn’t who she “expects” the mob to be or look like and man do sparks fly from their very first meeting. I also love that he fell hard fast and furious and has to work getting Lexi to give him a chance. Not your typical mob scene book and I loved it. Lots of great banter and steam; family connections on both sides, great story development.

I enjoyed all the books in this series and Wild Ace is one of my favorites. Vinny fell for Lexi practically the moment he met her and he's basically all in from the start. I love reading Vinny's POV because it shows just how "sweet" on her he is and exactly how determined he is to win Lexi over despite her constant rejection. Vinny and Lexi are both likable characters with a ton of chemistry and I loved their mafia "lite" love story.
