This is Blair Brown's second published book and she has delivered another solid story. Fake Marriage with the Grump had an intriguing plot with multiple layers of depth within the pages of the book. She really knows how to capture her audiences attention and that is exactly what Blair did with me. I read the book in one sitting and she honestly made it impossible for me to put it down until the end. Mason, Allison and Miles were characters that I liked immensely and found myself cheering them on as they barreled towards their happily ever after as a family. This is a sweet story about two people discovering that maybe they didn't really hate each other after all.
There was one thing that disappointed me.....the end of the story. I felt like it was rushed and their were certain circumstances that I needed answers to, but I didn't get them. I feel the epilogue in this story should have been an additional chapter followed up with an epilogue taking place at three months, six months or even 12 months later. I can use my imagination to guess how everything turned out, but I appreciate when the author writes that ending for me. Even with that being said I am truly looking forward to reading the next book Blair publishes.
Mason and Allison grew up together, but their relationship was more like that of an older brother - younger sister. Eventually leading to them barely tolerating one another and keeping their distance. Then one evening they shared a moment....better left forgotten. Mason is in the process of trying to prove to the court-appointed child advocate that it is in his son Miles best interest to remain in his full custody. In a moment of panic he blurted out that he was engaged. Now he needs to quickly find himself a fake fiance and there is no one better for the job than Allison. Mason convinces her to help him out for Miles sake. There is an underlying chemistry that becomes stronger between them as they spend more time together hanging out as a family and actually forming a real friendship. Now they find themselves crossing over those blurred lines and entering into a relationship. One that could cost Mason his friendship with Allison's brother Travis and damage her relationship with him as well. Now they are racing against the clock to make sure Miles remains with Mason, but more importantly end their fake relationship before they both lose Travis. Oh yeah, he is the only one in the family who doesn't know and if he finds out without them telling him it will blow up in their faces.

Having grown up together, Allison and Mason are fierce adversaries. Mason has been her brother's best friend for about forever, and she's been the butt of their jokes for about the same length of time. When single-dad Mason worries for custody of his son, he blurts out to his son's advocate that he has a fiance... which he does not. What's a guy to do when he's afraid he'll lose his son? Make promises he has no way to fulfill, is what. In a stroke of luck, Mason realizes that Allison might be the best fake fiance for the situation... if she can be talked into it. And the lies begin to accumulate from there.
I found this to be a beautiful romance, with all the anticipated struggles to come from the choices made. I loved the family members and their responses. Even the child advocate was a strong and sincere character. The book was easy to read and easy to want to continue. It starts and finishes well. And you're definitely left wanting to know more about Mason and Allison. Easy to recommend.

I enjoyed the story line with the standard brothers best friend/best friends sibling trope with the added touch of single parent, a fake relationship and steamy but there were some pretty glaring errors that made it hard for me to want to finish the book.
The occasional typo is one thing, but name mix ups and completely wrong ones added in really gets to me. On top of comments like We are not married. Said not once but twice while trying to explain what was going on. No they weren’t married 🤦♀️ but they weren’t really engaged either. Just some really poorly done editing
Other than that Miles, Mason and Allison were a great little family even if at the start it was fake.
It also ended rather abruptly, with Miles and Travis making up the friendship but Travis never goes and makes up with his sister and he made some pretty scathing comments that should have been dealt with. I felt really sorry for her. The main characters meet up again and it just finishes. Very unfinished feeling.
Mason and Allison have been acquaintances since they were younger. They had one interlude which they both would just as soon forget. Now that they are grown, they would just as soon be acquaintances and that's it. Mason is busy trying to prove that he is qualified to gain custody of his son, Miles. It comes to Mason that one way to prove his stability is to have a fiancé or get married. He asks Allison to help and she agrees. As they start to spend more time together, suddenly there are a whole lot of feelings that aren't friendship. Can the relationship that started as pretend become real?
I loved all of these characters. They were well developed and acted appropriately. They were written in a way that you really felt for them in the situations that they were in. The ending was a bit rushed, but it wrapped everything up nicely.
Great book! The love of a father for his son is special and Mason will go to any lengths to make sure Miles is happy, healthy and solely his. Enlisting best friend's sister Allison to makes sure he gains sole custody, the pair work together to insure everything goes right. And even though everything blows up in their faces, their love transcends all their other problems, giving them their happily ever after.

Ok quick start is Drinking And making love , With Your brother's best friend
Then it proceeds to a conversation between the States child care administrator that visits with his child and declared he has to have more secure living arrangements so, therefore a fake engagement. Best friend doesn't like it l
I was predisposed to like this novel but was disappointed. The plot sounded fun; there is lots of sex, lots; but the main characters were so immature it didn’t support the plot. It was also frustrating that there are soooo many syntax, misspellings, sentence structure, wrong character names… It is disrespectful to the reader.
I know I agreed to overlook typos since the book had not been through final editing but the constant wrong names made my ARC copy practically unreadable.
Mason and Allison have known each other since childhood as their parents are friends and he is best friends with her brother. Needing a fake engagement turns hate to love with these two as they weave through their unique arrangement. I enjoyed the journey these two went through just to be together and how close Allison was to Mason's son. This story has characters that are intriguing and enjoyable to read as they evolve. Great story!.

Allison and Mason have a history from when they were younger. Mason needs to look stable in order to get custody of his son this has him turning to Allison for help. He asks her to be in a fake relationship with him so he will look better and get custody of his son. However, things get complicate when old feelings resurface. Will this turn int more than they expected?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
