This is the third book in the series beginning with Glory. It continues the story of the human girl, Glory, and her involvement in a huge battle between good and evil. In the first book there is a terrible man-made epidemic designed to wipe out all but a few thousand members of the human race. The plan is thwarted with Glory in the middle of it but she is helped by vampires, angels, and witches who come together to save mankind. Millions of people have died and the next book and this one take up while all are trying to put some kind of life back together.

In the previous book the evil scientists have sent Glory back in time for their own purposes, but there she finds the vampire boy she loves, Zane, and discovers why she has dreams of being a woman named Hope. I do not want to do spoilers about this story, but it involved many characters, some very good and some very bad. It is very much a story of family and love between these people. As an Australian Shepherd owner, I enjoyed the fact that Glory has an Aussie who plays a part in the adventures. I liked the bits of humor here and there and especially a scene where Glory's scientist mother, her sister who is on the side of the bad people at this point, and Zane, the vampire Glory loves get together. It is evening and Glory's mother has damaged the listening devices in her rooms, and they sit and drink and talk together. It's an amusing break from all the tension.

This is a unique good against evil tale that is a love story too. It did not end the way I wanted it to, but it was probably inevitable and not all stories end with who we want riding off into the sunset unscathed.

I had only had one problem with the book and it came along toward the end. I obviously know this is a supernatural story including angels and am fine with that whether they are good or evil. I just was not comfortable with God's Archangel, Michael, being a woman. It just totally set wrong with me in this scene and changed my whole feelings about the book. A guy, and especially God's Warrior angel just deciding he wants to be a female so becoming one is not something I want to read about.

“Who was that?” Raven asked him.
“Michael”
“The Archangel Michael is a chick?”
Doiminic nodded. “Lately that’s the form Michael’s favored. Angels are androgynous.”

Genesis, an urban supernatural fantasy by Devin O'Branagan, left me awestruck. I loved the first two books in her Legend of Glory trilogy, Glory and Pretty Sacrifices. But in Genesis, the final book in the series, the characters, the action, and the epic fight between good and evil are even more intense. The plot is superb, filled with unexpected twists, and from page one, it just keeps getting better and better, right to the spellbinding finale. This is a book about Humans, Angels, Witches and Demons, and about love that is so strong that it will touch your soul.

Evil is coming and it is time for a major showdown. Glory Templeton, a warrior for the light, would do anything for her unborn child, even if that means giving up her own soul. Appropriately named Genesis, Glory and Zane's daughter was created by the most powerful force in the universe: true love. Even though Genesis was conceived in the past, she is the ultimate savior for the future. The question is, can she be born before all hell breaks loose?

In an epic battle of good verses evil who wins? The answer would depend on whom you ask. Most would say good always wins. I believe there is no true winner or loser because even though many might die, there is always someone left from both sides to fight the same battle again next time. So if this war is endless why do we keep fighting? In this book series, Glory always fights for love because love is always worth the fight. Love's force is so powerful it can crush you, make you crazy, or fill you with a faith strong enough to lift you so high that nothing can harm you.

Sometimes we all need a reminder that even though the path of love is hard, it is always worth the journey. This is why I would highly recommend this book to everyone. It is a great addition to "The Legend of Glory" series but also stands very well on its own. If you like big action-packed battles, epic love, and an all-around fantastic read that is impossible to put down, then this book is for you.

The last book in a series is hard to review without reverting to old clichés. Phrases like “thrilling climax” and “grand finale” and “electrifying conclusion” tend to get banded around a lot.

Genesis is all that, and more.

Old friends become bitter enemies as love is twisted into hate.

Shadowy figures from this world and the next play with the fates of mankind like pieces on an inter-dimensional chessboard.

Join a cast of friends old and new in Devin O’Branagan’s epic completion of the Legend of Glory trilogy. Watch Glory as she struggles desperately just to stay alive in the face of a destiny that will affect not just her, not just her friends, not just her family, but the fate of the whole world. See Zane as he fights to keep his own soul together even as his inner demons threaten to break his will and his mind.

Genesis promises – and delivers – excitement, drama, action and everything else you would expect from one of Devin’s books. If you were filled with questions at the end of Glory and Pretty Sacrifices, then you don’t just want to read this book, you need to read it as fast as possible.

This is quite possibly her finest work yet.

I have to begin this review by saying “OH MY!!!” This book was just awesome; I could not put it down and read it in record time. I will not give any spoilers to it because that is just not fair. But I have to say that I loved every word and the ending totally blew me away. I have not re-read the first two parts before reading this one but that did not matter, I was able to pick up everything I needed as I read. If you enjoy a good story that has plenty of love, adventure, fighting, drama, and mystery, this is the book for you.

Glory has grown so much over the three books. I enjoyed seeing how the lives of the other characters in the story grew and matured, many coming into their own while others, not so much. The scariest part of the entire series is the fact that much of what happens could be real and has a basis in real science. But it is definitely a series well worth reading.

Genesis.

What can I say? To the reader. You are going to meet some amazing characters. Some you will like, some you won't. Some you will love, like I did. This is a gripping story of good vs evil, heaven and hell the light and the dark. A story of love lost and found again. Lives lost and a new life born. I definitely feel this story hasn't ended. Fingers crossed.
