Why did I read this? Bc I like true crime and the author dated a women who was sadly murdered on Cape Cod in 2002, and I happened to catch not 1 but 2 shows on it where his authorship was mentioned. It is a delightful little read with an old-timey feel but the ending is unsatisfying and almost abrupt.
I liked it but it was kinda odd. She takes someone's mittens when she clearly knows she shouldn't and then when she puts them on it starts to snow. Near the end of the book she puts them on and they won't come off and it causes a blizzard. It was weird and I feel probably not the best things to teach/show your kids.
Short Children's story-read in 20 minutes. Very odd story-a little girl who's very well behaved, normally, finds and keeps some mittens in a passageway on her way to school. She does not hand them in as lost and uses the power of the mittens to get her own way, sort of.... Similar to the story of the Red shoes. I expected her to have to cut off her hands to escape the mitten's grip. (No pun intended). Somewhat abrupt ending......probably shouldn't read books written by murder suspects!!!!
Unique story. The ending was just was abrupt and left too many unanswered questions. Was it fantasy? a dream? There was no lesson learned, insight gained …someone she rewrite it. I will throw this book back.
