This is one of the most underrated book I've ever read. It's an excellent intro for anyone with little to no knowledge about urban design or what makes a city succeed or fail. The book explores themes such as urban structures, urban poverty, transportation, household carbon emission, education and policies. The examples focuses on cities and rural areas in the US and a few other major countries, and they are easy to grasp.
