Hard Knocks High is one of those books that I crave reading. Once I read the first page, I was hooked. It's actually been a long time since I have read an Urban Fiction book that speaks to me. And I mean, really speaks to me, much more beyond just a good plot. This book has the potential to changes lives because of the flow of the writing (especially the flow of the writing), the details and care put into the lives involved, and development of the characters. With the rise in Urban Fiction, I would especially recommend this book for those looking for a reminder of how great African American Literature is/was.
