I know I will get a good story after seeing this author's previous releases. This one joins a list of good reads. A lawyer and doctor found love at a homecoming event. Then to find out the paring would create a slight issue for both had me on the edge of my seat. Overall, this was a sweet treat.
This was a great great book. I love the way Thaf came thru and TOLD Monica what it was gone be and he made sure he showed her . Love the banter between all the characters and I thought Lauren was up to something else at first . Everyone needs to read this book.
Monica and Thaddeus meet on their way to homecoming. Their attraction is immediate but they each have different plans. Thad is hoping to meet up with the one who got away and Monica is trying to regroup after her divorce. Well, despite their plans, they keep running in to each other. Life or circumstances clearly meant for them to keep meeting. They agree to a rendezvous to burn off the attraction. Thad would like to continue but Monica was not for it.
Well, guess who ends up seeing each other again when they get back home? You guessed it. It seems like the universe is intent on Monica and Thad interacting. The situation is precarious but they find a way to make it work.
I loved this book. It was funny and intriguing. It dealt with friendship, trials, obstacles and love. It was about life. Sometimes life can be difficult but it’s always worth it. I was glad Monica and Thad decided to do life together. 5 stars

My Sentiments:
'Homecoming: Love 101' was a good read that featured Monica and Thaddeus. They rode together to a school reunion homecoming at Lee University in Tallahassee. It was cute in the way they got together for that ride. Monica had not attended the school reunion for the past ten years. Thaddeus had participated in each year. While Thaddeus was thanking of reconnecting with a former student Lauren, Monica had been going to be with her friends. But after meeting Thaddeus... there may be some chemistry, which was for them. After the reunion and going home, it was incredible how these two reconnected again. To get the beautiful story, the reader must pick up this good read to see how well this author brings it out. By the end, one will notice if these two were to be an item.
When I saw that the author was releasing a sequel ten years in the making; I was intrigued to read the first book. After Freshmen 15 I was hooked on the lives of these four young women. I cried when Chris broke our hearts. Yes I said our heart. I cheered and prayed that Chris win our hearts back. So now we 10 years since walking across that stage and I am so happy for this. {I have not read the other 3 stories yet} I plan on catching up on what I missed. Homecoming was a wonderful book. The way it was giving glimpse of how Monica and Thaddeus would see each other had me on edge. The attraction was undeniable. "Lauren Who?" Was my thoughts too.
Thank you for making going to see a therapist a normal thing and not taboo. Everyone needs help with something sometimes.
I loved this book and getting to catch up with the ladies who started this author’s writing career. I have been reading her books since The Freshman Fifteen and she has not disappointed me yet. This story was so good and I loved that both Monica and Thaddeus acknowledged what they wanted and their fears. I loved how they tended to be open in their communication with each other. What started out as an impromptu road-trip to homecoming between strangers ended with a happily ever after and I couldn’t be more pleased. I look forward to whatever comes next from this author.
I thought it was unwise for Thaddeus and Monica to correspond during the case; it could have put it and his career in jeopardy.
I get why Monica told him at homecoming to get the girl and other reasons she pushed him away. She wanted to have control because if things went bad later she’d take it harder. But just because I understood her motives didn’t mean I didn’t want to shake her, slap sense into her etc.
Besides the carrying on with a witness I thought Thaddeus was a stand up dude and just the type Monica needed
I knew you wouldn’t disappoint. The story of Monica and Thaddeus was amazing. I love how they met even though I don’t know if I would have accepted that 1st ride. Now the ride at the end I was all for it. I love the way they got reacquainted. That was really cute. Oh and the friends are always on point. They all know when to step up to the plate. Another awesome book by J. Nichole.
Monica went back to homecoming it had been 10 years. She didn’t know her life would change for the better. When her flight was cancelled she met a fellow alum Thaddeus and the car ride intrigued her. Thaddeus was on a mission to reconnect with Lauren but he met Monica, things changed. Monica and Thaddeus had a chemistry that she was apprehensive to explore, she decided to let go and live! A great story!
Enjoy read about black love 💕 and of course homecoming
This was such a good book! With my college homecoming fast approaching, this book came at the right time! Monica and her girls reminded me so much of my college experience. Thaddeus plans to get the girl that was finally single and shooting his shot but connecting with someone else. This book was about reconnecting with old friends and new ones. This was an enjoyable read about black love. 💕
I enjoyed reading Thaddeus and Monica’s story. I was apprehensive at first until Monica revealed her truth about her current relationship status. Then I was tripping when she basically sent Thaddeus of to the other woman. But he was all about Monica from the moment he laid eyes on her.
This was a beautiful story of Thaddeus and Monica, the homecoming hookup turned love story, plus a little courtroom suspense! I love her dedication to self reflection and his intentionality in pursuing her. I thought the friends would be annoying at the beginning when they mentioned Nick unprovoked but they pleasantly turned out to be a great help.
Cute book about finding unexpected love at homecoming. Very relatable in thinking you're going to HC to reconnect and then meet someone else. This book makes you feel like anything is possible and you can find love when you least expect it.
It was so great to read black characters written by a black woman. I loved the story and all the twists were natural and dramatic which made the story more realistic. LOVED IT!
This book gives you all the feels of college again. It's something about meeting up with your girls, throwing caution to the wind and getting rewarded. The book flowed extremely well from college back to everyday life for the main characters. Definitely a feel good read.
Excellent story. Love the display of black love. I also loved how she described how most black women feel they have to be perfect and the feelings that come behind that. Great job! I’m definitely a fan.
I love how this book went from spicy weekend college reunion to how a relationship would work in real life. This gave me all the feels plus an extra plot twist.
