Reliability Engineering

Rate this book
This book is an edited version of the proceedings of the seminar on reliability held by the Arab School of Science and Technology in Zabadani, Syria, during July 1986. The seminar was aimed at presenting delegates with information on recent developments in reliability engineering and management, related to the principal needs of the Arab countries. The seminar was directed primarily towards the presentation of modern practical engineering and management approaches to attaining high reliability of present technology products and systems. This reflects the move away from the rather academic approach to reliability presented by many courses and texts in the past. The seminar objectives specifically excluded detailed teaching of basic techniques in reliability. Therefore, only a brief resumA(c)e of basic mathematical and probability techniques is given, but references are provided to texts which cover such material in more detail. Also, the book is not a comprehensive treatment of reliability engineering and management, but it is hoped that readers will find useful material on the new methods and technologies covered.
