Joyce is married to James Taylor. He is a real estate agent that learned everything about the business from his mother Edith. Edith came from a rich family and increased the wealth when she used to be in real estate. Her family owns an island and she loves being there. Edith loves her son but knows that he is very controlling with Joyce. James sends their only daughter Lisa to boarding school and Joyce is heartbroken about it.
Edith decides she wants to turn her private island into a resort and asks Joyce to help her. Joyce is not sure because James won’t like it. Edith tells Joyce to tell him that since Lisa is at school, you wanted to spend more time with her.
What happens when James discovers Joyce and Edith have been lying to him and spending time at the island? What happens on their 14th wedding anniversary?
Great set up for the series and I can’t wait to read all about it.

I read the entire book in a few hours. Kept me intrigued throughout and wanting more. The story line is so true to life and full of raw emotion that I couldn't put it down. The author has the perfect description of us thousands of abused women and the empowering feeling of living once again!

This is a good prequel by this author a wealthy women has a son that cares only for himself and his mother's money His wife dies after asking for A divorce and revealing a pregnancy with another man and dumps his daughter on his mother what happens next
