Featuring a powerful cast of characters, Aftermath delves deep into a frighteningly realistic "what if" scenario, showcasing both the prepared and unprepared, and showing what tenacity, courage and drive can do in the face of insurmountable odds.
This omnibus edition of Aftermath collects all six volumes from the original series into one convenient reading experience.
Passionate about reading and writing for as long as she can remember, Stephanie was inspired to create her own literary worlds by the books she has lost herself in over the years (some of her favorites include: the Harry Potter series, The Road, 1984, Wool and Station Eleven).
Stephanie writes speculative fiction in the wee hours of the night after her children have gone to sleep. She particularly loves writing stories about characters who find themselves in unusual or challenging situations, and exploring how they deal with the fallout.
Having lived on several different continents over the last ten years, Stephanie is also an avid traveler. She married her British husband in Las Vegas with Elvis as celebrant, which was just as fun as you would imagine.
The story is a good one and started out strong and even plausible. I bought the boxed set of 5 books on sale. I truthfully felt the entire story could have been told in 3 books rather than 5 without losing anything. It is was way too long with very repetitive conversations and thoughts among the main characters so I found myself skipping entire chapters and would come back to find I hadn't missed a beat.
The series starts with two hurricanes bearing down on the southern states and carrying in their winds the seeds of further destruction as the blight hitting South America is carried north. This is the story of several groups of individuals whose lives are dramatically affected by the disaster and the struggle to survive long odds with the hope of refuge and forging a new community.
I enjoyed this series, but it dragged quite a bit and I found myself saying just get on with it! The heroes of the book made stupid mistakes and didn't seem to learn from them and made them again. The last book went really fast and wrapped up loose ends, almost too fast, it's like the author was tired of the story too.
Very good plot line. It kept all of the characters involved with purpose. It showed the growth of the main characters along the plight of circumstances. I would recommend this set of books to anyone of any age. I gave it 5 stars, because I liked the flow of good reading
Really enjoyed this series. I liked seeing how the various characters evolved and got stronger by learning through adversity. Loved that the women were front and center. High octane adrenaline flowed throughout.
I read a lot of apocalyptic books, this is not about zombies but how real people survive, thing is it could happen. Thoroughly recommend this series of books, biggest disappointment was getting to the last page, hope authors write follow ups
I loved this whole series, all the twist and turns and Walter was one of my favs, all grumpy! It also makes you think about how hard life would be if some kind of bad destruction happened in the United states!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series I kept hoping towards the end that maybe Ryan wouldn't get back in time and they would have to have a whole another series about his return great book really enjoyed it
I loved the series, it was an excellent apocalyptic story that was very believable. No Zombies but there were some very bad people. Just enough to keep one interested.
Well what can I say,as well as a great read this book took me on an excellent journey, thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it . I felt as if I was there with All of the very interesting characters,2500 pages of joy, thanks. Terry.
