This is a re-release of the classic world food book, taking in the best easy-to-cook vegetarian dishes from Africa, Asia and Latin America, with information about the countries and people along the way. It includes 130 recipes like Falafels from Egypt, stir fries from Singapore, or spicy cashew nuts from Mozambique. Many dishes take only 5-10 minutes from start to finish. It vegetarian and vegan dishes; nutrition guide; ingredients gallery; step-by-step cooking methods; and full colour photos.
This book contains recipes from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. It's divided into appetizers, main dishes, salads & side dishes, and desserts. There's an amazing introduction in the beginning of the book, where the author explains briefly reasons for vegetarianism, the nutrients our bodies need and how to cook certain food. The author also adds cooking advices and a little bit of information about the country of each recipe. The recipes are well-described, though I find the preparation times a bit unbelievable. Or maybe I chop vegetables too slowly. Some of the recipes were also very similar (there are two chick pea stews, which don't really differ much and two vegetables in coconut milk recipes). But overall, these recipes were fun to prepare and have enhanced my knowledge of vegetarian cooking.
The recipes are tasty and very simple. I usually do not use this cookbook because I have trouble getting fresh enough ingredients to make these dishes shine.
