This daily devotional book features scripture verses, commentary, and quotes. It's been really helpful to me this year. I had planned to take the whole year to work through them each day, but things changed, and this past summer I found myself doing a few a day.

This was a great help in understanding the Old Testament. Daily reflection books are a must for me.
I just finished reading it a second time.

A small book of inspirational thoughts centered on scriptures from the Old Testament, one for each day of the year. My favorite was the entry for Dec 21, portions of which follow:

"The Lord's standard of righteousness remains unchanged in every generation. Do good works and treat people fairly, extend mercy and forgiveness to others, and be meek and humble... live with integrity, be compassionate and kindhearted, and submissively seek to do the will of the Lord... The essence of what the Lord requires of us is simply living the gospel with full purpose of heart - a soft and sympathetic heart, a meek and merciful heart, a gracious and generous heart."

Perfect little book for this year - a daily scripture with commentary from the Old Testament - it's a nice addition to my daily B of M reading.
