I had to read this for my Masters Degree Core Reading List. I like Gavin Reid's perspectives about dyslexia. His focus is very much on what we can do to support learners in the classroom. An educational problem needs an educational solution - I think that's a key idea.
I learned much more about some of the programmes that I have heard about and realise that my own practice as a specialist teacher fits closely with the principles that are promoted by O-G. I am interested in finding out much more about Reciprocal Teaching and Dynamic Assessment after reading this book.
