Read this when I was first allowed into the adult section of the local library. (Yes they kept unaccompanied kids out of that area then). I would love to find this book again. A profile of all the major Canadian recording acts circa 1971, with The Guess Who prominently featured at the beginning. One chapter gave me insight called "The Ones Who Wouldn't Wait", acts such as Neil Young, Steppenwolf and others who left Canada and made it big south of the border.

If I recall there was much written about the new 30% Canadian airplay regulations ordered by the CRTC. It was a magical time for "CanCon" but the ruthlessness of the music business sunk many a band.
