This anthology of essays provides a wide range of viewpoints about fracking, providing in-depth discussions by leading advocates, a quick grounding in the issues, and it offers a challenge to critical thinking skills. Essays debate whether hydraulic fracturing can be done responsibly, whether fracking pollutes the air, and whether the chemicals used in fracking should no longer be held secret from the public.
I had traveled through Pennsylvania this last summer and became interested in Fracking and its possible relationship to reported increases in seismic activity where gas drilling is taking place. One piece by Kevin D. Williamson called " The Truth about Fracking" made the most sense to me when reading all the opposing viewpoints. If you don't understand the process of "fracking" this book would be a great place to start. There are some issues that need addressed, but hopefully some middle ground and truth can fall in the middle somewhere.
