Gale Stanley grew up in Philadelphia PA. She was the kid who always had her nose in a book, her head in the clouds, and her hands on a pad and pencil. Some things never change.
This was really a 3.5 star read for me. I loved the menage aspects of it but the investigation just sort of stopped. Are we supposed to believe that all was ok after the story was published? Is any part of this story continued in future books. I see there are 5 books in the series but they all look to be about different MCs although the story seems to take place in the same town. Such a shames as it had some promise.
Slade deserved better, Mike and Jaxon were so shitty to him and I have a serious issue with the book, all the book from the first encounter the author hint us Slade will top Jaxon at some time, BUT when it seems it's going to happen Mike get's in the room and interrupts them, from there is always Mike in the bottom, Slade in the middle and Jaxon topping leaving me feeling unfulfilled and cheated.
Slade is the only character I found compelling, acting according his role, his actions made sense all the time and he was strong and smart.
Mike was a girl with overgrew muscles, his demeanor was just so unmanly, he was unappealing to me.
Jaxon is the typical asshole that cheats and then tries to compensate overcrowding his partner and being shitty to the one he cheated with, even when he realized in Mike's apartment Slade could also be his mate he wants to kick him out the next time he sees him, and it takes Mike hinting the idea of a threesome for him to take action, and he is supposed to be the alpha.
I hate that both, Mike and Jaxon hit Slade when he wasn't at fault, he seriously deserved better mates.
Furthermore when they are trying to convince Slade to be with them the insecurities they show are child-like, like when Jaxon says he needs Slade and Mike starts moving from the bed, there are some other moments like that and it made me roll my eyes, so much for the alpha rugged men the author wants us to believe these men are.
Aside from that the plot was actually cool and well played, but Mike and Jaxon didn't let me enjoy it as I wished.

I thought the jealousy thing with Mike and Slade to detract from the story. If all three of them are mates there shouldn't be jealousy in the mix. You should want to be with both of the other parties. I can understand confusion and hurt if you were feeling left out but jealousy not so much. I'm going to give the second book a try and decide if I want to continue with any further books that may come out for this series
This is a pretty typical shifter novella. I can see that it will develop more in subsequent books but this one shouldn't have ended with declarations of love, there wasn't anything to get them there. I did like its take on shifter mates - that they aren't expected and they are surprised by the attraction. I liked all three guys but not the cheating. There needed to be more communication. The events outside the bed room are intriguing and I will definitely carry on in the series.
ETA it seems the rest of the series isn't about these three overcoming the obstacles still in the way so I'm not sure what to think. If there isn't anymore to these men then the book ended badly.
While I'm not typically a fan of paranormal romance, I have to admit, I have read some great M/M books in this genre lately. This book was an entertaining, enjoyable and fast read.
Jax and Mike are in a unique relationship. Jax is a werewolf who runs an all male strip club that caters to gay Werewolves in a segregated shifter community called "Dogstown". Mike is a human cop who works undercover for the FBI, specifically in the Division of Shifter Affairs (DSA). He is currently investigating a covert terrorist plot, allegedly spearheaded by members of the Werewolf community. Enter Slade, a sexy werewolf and a loner by choice, who lands a job stripping at Jax's club. Unbeknownst to Jax, he is also working undercover for the DSA. From the moment they met, Jax and Slade are overcome by a reluctant, yet overwhelming sexual attraction for one another. Slade's human DSA contact for his current case turns out to be none other than Mike, Jax's significant other. As if this wasn't complicated enough, who should be their primary suspect but Jax himself...Drama ensues!
Despite the complexities of the plot, the storyline is surprisingly easy to follow, and moves along at a quick & steady pace.
Recommended for a pleasurable escape for fans of M/M romance who don't mind men with decidedly canine qualities.
I really enjoyed this one. It was nice to see the relationship between predator and prey change into something neither man expected, and including a human man in the mix added another dimension. The plot played out in tantalizing fashion and the characters’ back-story was heart wrenching. By the end, I was totally involved with the characters and emotionally invested in their outcome. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Once again. Good concept, not great execution. Each book went way to fast and I'm so sick of series where the story line just stops and never resolves.
