Story: GOOD
Intimacy Level: D.R.I.P ( Don't Read In Public) / Sex-citingly GOOD

THOUGHTS
I was browsing for a vampire read and came across this book. Basically, to sum up this story, interesting, blood sucking, sexual cravings, a bit of murdering and vampires. And all of this in only twenty minutes. The opening paragraph should give you an idea of the story you're about to read. For me, the story had no depth really, so there was no attachment / bond I felt towards the characters.This was a thrilling, short but fun read and it was also very fast pace, so stay focus on what's happening. I also found everything intense about this story, sexually and emotionally.
Vanessa has felt reckless, thirsty and sexually hungry since she's been turned, and the only person she has to blame for that is, Hunter. Now that years has pasted, she has now reconnected with Hunter again. And this is where the story becomes very interesting, with an even more interesting ending, mix that with the sexual excitement the author created, and this was twenty minutes of fast pace erotica vampire junkie high.
The only thing that gave me a sad face was that it was short and the ending left you unsatisfied as I am craving more. I knew ahead of time that it was short as it was stated above it was 38 pages, but it still hurts for that cost. Nevertheless, it was fun while it lasted..

This story was another fantastic erotic by Rue Volley! Raw and gritty, this story drew me in and left me wanting more. Rue has a gift for storytelling and that gift was in evidence in spades in Hunter's Blood.
Vanessa is tortured with her past and the way it has changed her. As a girl she was fascinated with Hunter. He had a secret though, one that changed her life forever.
Dark passion and her baser instincts rule Vanessa now. Though she fights against what she is now, memories of Hunter refuse to vacate her mind.
I loved this story! Rue Volley created a captivating cast of characters whose story captured my attention completely! I eagerly await the next installment of this story, I very much want to know what happens to Hunter and Vanessa!

My rating is going back up. And I WILL finish this book!
"I grabbed at his face as he reached down and placed his hand on his hard shaft and gently pressed it against me and then it started to slide into me and at first it was a slight pressure and then as he lowered it started to hurt more, he pulled my wrist up as I moved from discomfort and he bit into me, I screamed as I took the rest of him deep inside of me and he tried to divert the pain to my wrist, but quite honestly I wanted it and it felt so overwhelming and normal to me that I was shocked to be enjoying it as I was."

The same grammatical problems from Volley's other book seemed to leak through to this one. "I am", "Did Not" and so on and so forth. I'm a stickler for proper grammar so, yeah. I had a facial tick going on while I read - or tried to read this, as it were.
As erotica, I expected the book to be short. Not many authors can write a full 80,000 word novel simply based on sex. Not an easy feat to tackle and kudos to anyone who does.
From the start of this book, the first few pages were promising. I was excited because I thought I was going to get some hot, raw reading material and I'd need to go grab my B.O.B afterwards...No. Not at all. I didn't like it. From what I read, the sex was bad and the characters were boring. From the vague impression I got of Vanessa before she flashed back to her time with Hunter, I felt like all the potty-mouthing and attitude was forced. She just didn't seem like she was as tough as she played. Rachel...blah. She's beige.
As I was reading, I got the impression that it was set in a present time london or something but I got 50% through and never got it confirmed so I gave up wondering. THEN when Vanessa did her flashback thing - and the fact that she's the daughter of a Baron - I really did think it was london. However, no one specifies.
My theory: Hunter is a vamper and so is Rachel. Hunter changed Vanessa and Rachel took Vanessa from her home. They've been living their promiscuous vamper life for centuries.
What is really highly unlikely was that Vanessa is a virgin still. If my theory holds true - which I will never find out because I wont finish reading it - Vanessa wouldn't be nearly as slutty as she appears to be in the first few pages. She picked up two people and fantasized about going horizontal with two others...not so virginal if you ask me.
It all felt very forced to me. I couldn't get into the sex scene I did read because it felt like one giant sentence broken up with fifty commas. I just didn't like it.

Okay let me start by saying Rue Volley is freaking amazing. This is actually my first time reading her work but I am totally hooked now.
Hunter’s Blood is not for the faint of heart. If you like your erotica gritty and brutal, this book is for you!
Vanessa is a Baron’s daughter with a rare mental condition that affects her memory in addition to making her very lethargic. Her only male caller is a very handsome but dangerous man named Hunter. He awakens in her feelings that make no sense to her. All she knew was that she wanted him.
The only negative thing I can say about this book is that it ended too soon! It will leave you wanting more.
My favorite line in the book…
‘…it sent me over the edge of sanity, which I had not been in 111 years since Hunter first took my cherry and fucking ate it, stem and all.’

That was… wow! Actually, I have no words! I needed a nice erotic read and what I got? Wow! This book is one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read! Fast-paced and too hot for its own good, this story is a journey in sex and violence. When I got this book for free, a few months ago, I didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t read it immediately. I enjoyed it but sometimes it was hard to read because there were some scenes too difficult to read.
The story is about Vanessa, a tortured immortal. Her dreams are about the boy that gave her that “gift”. I am not going to tell you more because the story is just a novella and I won’t be able to avoid spoilers. All you have to know is that this book has scenes with great sex and some violence and if you are a paranormal erotica fan you will definitely enjoy it!
I have to say that the author is very talented and I liked her style. I would prefer this book to be a little longer but I will definitely read more books from her in the future.

The author spends as much time detailing the violence as the sex. Just know that from the start and you should be fine.
It has its moments (I like the Hunter character through most of the book), but it left me a little cold and with quite a few unanswered questions.
I got this free on the 4th of July. Normally, it is 2.99. It is 38 pages and has some editing issues to be addressed.
Overall, okay read. Love the cover! :)

Rue has been on my publishing books for 18 months now and this was her first piece to be published out side of Vamptasy. I purchased it through amazon and read it in one sitting. I loved it. Rue has a fab imagination and i feel absolutely privileged that we have published some of her books and I am proud that she has done some work for the lovely Sarah at Hot INK. I sit looking at her (6, yes 6 people!) published paperbacks on my shelf and I say be 'PROUD GIRL you are an amazing writer and lets face it you sell over 100 books a month ;) it says it all.....YOU ROCK'

Rue Volley is a hero in many terms. She has written to entertain us in many different stories and I have enjoyed every single one of them. I am a huge fan of her works and can’t get enough of her writing and look forward to each new novel she puts out for us readers. This is a great short story by Ms. Volley. Vanessa has cravings that she just can’t satisfy. What has Hunter made her into? Her thirst will drive her to want and do many things but what if she can’t believe she can cause harm to anyone and just believes that no one can sexually satisfy her needs unless they are Hunter?

HUH?! That's all I could say after reading this story.. I don't understand how it got such a high rating.. I have read better camp stories then this book.. I will say that it started off interesting but somewhere in between the flashbacks, present day, and future scenes, I got confused.. I didin't mind the blood or graphic violence. I didn't mind the sex (cause really who would?) I did mind that this book was confusing.. And that was enough for me to give this only one star....

OMG!!! What a tale, I love this book, short but so very, very sexy, but then is more in the series, so no complaints from me, I love how Rue writes, She got right into my head with Hunter and won’t give it back, I know she bases Hunter on Johnny Depp and so through the whole book, all I could see was Johnny Depp in all the situations, Mmmmmmm, what more can I say, Rue your work here is done, I loved how Vanessa takes diet pills to starve off the blood hunger she has, I think it is so funny, that a vamp takes them, not something you would naturally think of, good one Rue, I love the back story of how she became a vampire and it opened my eyes to Johhny in britches, what more could a girl ask for? I would highly recommend this to anyone after a great story with sex, violence even death, Don’t forget to think of Johnny while reading, it makes it even more pleasurable if that is possible, 5/5

Let me just say first off, Rue Volley is amazing! I would love to get in that mind of hers for just a bit.

The begining of the book, I couldnt help but chuckle a bit with how she treated her "guest". I liked how she would slip back into her memories and we seen what happen to bring her to where she is now. If your looking for a read that has sex, blood and isnt for the faint at heart. Well ladies and Gents this is the book for you.
I love the characters. Rachel, the nanny who follows Vanessa. Hunter, the man who changed her. Im wondering how he turned, and if he was always the "bad boy" type the whole time Vanessa knew him and he just hid it.
The ending floored me, and it mad me laugh. How he.just "pops" back up after she thought she was done with him. I dont wont to spoile it and let people know.
Over all a awesome read, I enjoyed the crap out of it. Im starting on book 2, right after Im done with this review. Keep up the great work Rue.

I was given the opportunity to read this Wicked installment before it was published.. But I did buy the Published Version as well.. I do buy them when I can. Authors pour themselves (heart, mind, soul, tears, body) into their work, it is the right thing to do for them.. With that being said, on with the review.
Whoa! This read is not for the meek and mild.... Vanessa, a tortured, highly sexual creature, she wasn't always this way. Hunter is a very attractive, boy who takes more than her virtue. It is how she deals with the after-effects, that speaks to me.. Self-medicating to avoid the inevitable blood lust she feels, and the heightened sex drive, leaves a bitter taste in her mouth.. Can she survive the gift she has received and not topple over to the darker side? Can not wait for next installment...

When Rue Volley states her book is Erotica, she doen't mess around! The first couple of sentences will make you gasp and wonder, "Wow-where are we going with this?"
This was my first read by Rue Volley and when there is violence, blood and erotica involved-she definitely nails it! I enjoyed the characters, especially Vanessa, who not only has intense issues to deal with, but also has a side to her that makes you want to go deeper into her psyche.
The only reason I wasn't able to give this short story 5 stars was primarily because it was so short. The characters and story needed more depth. If the story and characters were developed to where you could become a part of their lives, then the potency would have been amazing. Regardless, I would recommend this to anyone who likes vampires, blood and sex!

Okay, here we go. Hunter's Blood is the first book I've read by Rue Volley.
I was *thoroughly and pleasantly* surprised. It's rash but it's honest. It's a book that's going to leave you aroused and excited for the rest of the day. I literally read it straight through without stopping.
I thought I knew what to expect going in, I was warned and prepared and fair is fair. I honestly didn't know if I would like it or not. I actually went into it with doubts, as ashamed as I am to admit it. All I'd been told is it's an "In Your Face Vampire Erotica." Well, I'm the "get out of my face" kind of person, just to be completely honest.
Overall, I give it 5 stars. It was a short read and left me wanting more. I'll definitely be reading more of Rue Volley's work.

This story was an interesting little tease. Sex, blood, violence, death- there was nothing this tale didn't have. At times I found myself a bit confused as it jumped from present to past and back again, but a slower read-through made the tale more clear to me. The history between the two main characters amazed and amused me, and I definitely found myself looking for more. I will be reading further in this series to find out more about all the characters- how they came to be and why. The main theme? Innocence lost. That's what this story screamed to me. Nicely done- 5 stars.

Rue Volley has a knack of sending me into a whirlwind of excitement, fun, and curiosity. ok, so let me start by saying....thank you rue volley :0) just as i finish one of your books i think it is not possible to like the next one i am about to start as much or even more than the one i have finished before it, and yet every time you prove me wrong.
great characters, great story, great read. this book held my undivided attention from the first to last word, and had me damn near salivating to read the next book :0)

OMG, wow....umm, I need a COLD shower. This was fabulous. I loved everything about this little story. Rue captured my imagination in more ways than one, and I found myself giggling, and my husband often asking me what was so funny. It wasn't funny, it was HOT HOT HOT. I highly suggest you ALL read this book, because lets face it, we all need a little naughtiness in our lives, and who better to deliver the sweetness other than Rue.

18 or over, hot and steamy erotic book. Vanessa was just your average 20 year old daughter of a Baron. The love of her life, Hunter, was everything she thought she wanted. Until the night he took her, in every way. 111 years later, he turns back up, and brings out the best, and worst, in Vanessa. Admitting to his love for her, and what he was, and that he had turned her, he's back and wants Vanessa to be his, eternally. Quick read, but oh so worth it! 5 of 5 stars!

This a highly graphic erotic short story.
I loved following Vanessa in her pursuit of Hunter only to have him turn her into a vampire.
This first story is bloody in places but is equally out-weighed but the HOT sex scenes which Rue Volley is becoming renowned for. I can't wait to read the second book.

The story starts out really good, I love the historical fiction part! Then when we flash back to present day it's kind of hard to follow. It's as if the character telling the story is ADD and can't stay on track. Lol I really like the idea of this storyline, it just needs more detail for me. I have downloaded the second to see what happens...

The writing style is good, but the story was weak, hard to believe it would have enough fuel to carry it thru a series of Novellas. The writer has talent, but the book seemed too quick and unpolished- I'd love to see if the writer could throw together a full story instead of installments. I bet it would be great. As is, I felt unsatisfied by the characters and the story.

What the hell just happened??
I was utterly confused by the end of the book. Is she not a vampire? Is Hunter dead? Did any of this really happen? Is she coocoo for coacoa puffs??
I'm lost.
From what I did understand it was a good story but I felt like it just jumped around too much. Lost me along the way unfortunately.

Omfg I loved it!! My only complaint was that it was way too short, than again I dont think 500 pgs would have been long enough. Bloody, messy & hott!! Just the way I like it ;) I will definitely be following this series & this author!!!!

Wow! This series started with a bang! I was so lucky to see Rue Volley's post about this ebook being free for a day!! I got it on Amazon and read it in immediately afterwards. Very, very good. I WILL be getting the next book. Very good start to this series.

Only a vampire series Rue Volley could write! Hot, steamy and everything in between! Not your typical vampire story but a great new start to a new version! Can't wait to finish book #2 Snakes and Sinners.

Not sure what to think? Fast and Furious. Short story but full of biting and sex. Vanessa and Hunter very sexy together really likwd it even though it was short and not too much content.
