Surprisingly much better than I expected. There were two stories, each revolving around (sort of) Viscount DeVere. My biggest disappointment was that each story was so short. Just when I was getting into the story it was already over. I will definitely be reading more from Victoria Vane.
This is supposed to be classified as erotica but compared to Rosemary Rogers and Bertrice Small, I didn't find it that graphic. The story line is what makes the book and I am somewhat puzzled by this as it seems ti be divided into two stories. First we start out with Phoebe and a befuddled character named Ned who is Devil DeVere's best friend. (I had thought the hero of this book would be Devil DeVere but he only makes appearances) Ned has a daughter named Vesta. When Vesta is brought to London for her season, she sees DeVere's brother, Hewett, immediately forgets all about the parties, new clothes and so on to divert her attention on making Hewitt love her. Ludovic (Devil DeVere) wants his brother to marry so he agrees to help the fetching but spoiled brat. The only thing that bothers me about this book is that we abruptly departed Phoebe and Ned to land on Vesta and Hew! Otherwise this is very funny and I had the giggles all through it.
