**This contemporary fantasy romance novel is over 56,400 words.**
Reluctant werewolf hunter, Madie Valois doesn’t believe in werewolves, until she finds true love in the arms of Damon Laroche, the Alpha who’s been sent to kill her.
Madie Valois wants nothing more than to live a normal life, but that won’t happen if her father, Gaston has his way. Grieving over the loss of his wife, Gaston’s determined to make Madie take over the family ‘werewolf hunting’ business or face disinheritance.
How do you hunt something that doesn’t exist?
Damon Lorache has been tasked by Lycanian Elders to kill the next Hunter. As Alpha, he’s more than happy to get the chance to avenge his brother’s death, but first he plans to retrieve the ‘Book of Lycan’–a formal record of deaths and killings that the Hunters keep. He’ll do whatever it takes to get his hands on the book, even if that means seducing the enemy.
The seduction might’ve worked, if the wolf inside him hadn’t had plans of its own.
After a night of passion, Damon finds himself bondmated to Madie. Now instead of killing her, he has to somehow find proof of her innocence. With the Hunters and the Moonlight Kin pack closing in, Madie and Damon will have to turn to each other in order to survive the next full moon, but their burgeoning love might not be enough to save them.
*** This title contains some mature language, lots of angsty melodrama, and sensual love-scenes. Might offend some readers.***

Not the worst I’ve read but it’s a one and done and I won’t read on the series. The story was interesting but it didn’t flow and issues were resolved quickly but the story lacked something. For one thing the feels just weren’t there. I didn’t really warm up to the characters because their personalities were I consistent to where I didn’t get to know them. So moving on.
I couldn't connect with this novella: there were quite a few plot holes and missing info to really be interesting.
There's no world-building at all. It seems that werewolves are hidden, but Hunters and Weres have a treaty. Why? How? Humans and were are different species but they can reproduce. But there's no proof of this .
They have sex and all of a sudden she loves him. Err. Let's not talk of the need for purity. To be a hunter, sure. Logical. Where is the unicorn, please?
Moreover, contrary to what the author says in the Amazon product page, there are still quite a few errors/typo. A few scenes had me snorting from incredulity (as in can it be this bad?)
I had bought this novella as a introductory book to Ms Summers (I was interested in her novel Red, strangely unavailable on kindle). I'm not sure now I'm that keen to buy an other of her books.
A Wolf’s Tale recounts the interaction between The Moonlight Kin and The Hunter. Damon Laroche is Alpha of his pack with orders to kill the newest chosen Hunter, Madeleine Valois. His initial scan of her reveals no interaction or hint of a werewolf kill. Damon’s instant attraction to Madie sets him on a path to investigate and gather more information. When instead of her death at his hands, Damon embarks on Madie’s seduction, their fate is sealed. Against all odds, he’s found his bond-mate.
In addition to kill orders from the Lycan council, the couple must also deal with Madie’s father Gaston Valois, and a mysterious killer.
Ms. Summers has created a very entertaining and erotic look at werewolves amongst us you won’t forget.
I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the story very much and thought that the author did a great job with the detail and information needed to keep up. There was a character or two that were introduced in the story early on and I did have a hard time figuring out why and when they were mentioned in the book much later I had a hard time remembering where they were mentioned. Overall, this was a great read. I will continue with the series.
This was a great surprise for me. From the reviews and ratings I thought it would be "just ok" but this book was terrific!! I was hooked within the first few pages and read the entire book in a few hours. I just could not put it down.
Damon and Madie's story was great. the wolf, Damon was suppose to kill the Hunter, Madie but it didn't quite work out that way. read their story it is great. Looking forward to the next in the series
