"In one fast motion, he shoved me against the wall and cupped a hand over my mouth. I had been so stupid. The very thing I had feared from the start was happening—he was overpowering me and there was nothing I could do about it!" When her pack gets taken, March Howe is forced to enlist the help of the one person she trusts least in the world—Elliot Sharp. As if running around the state alone with him isn’t bad enough, she fears they won’t make it back home in time for the Full Moon Cycle. Risking her humanity to be out in the wild is worth it to save her pack. But some things, once done, can’t be undone, and March is afraid she may have lost pieces of herself she can’t get back. With her rage threatening to ruin her life, her new talent for athletics and the frigids trying to suck her into their group, March’s friends are noticing she’s changing in big ways. She tries harder than ever to force her life into normalcy, but Avery is the only one who can make her see that it’s okay to be different, and a bond begins to form between them that neither can fully understand. Meanwhile, the new guy, Jasper, keeps her guessing, and bouncing between anger and intrigue. In Book Three of the Lone March Series, March Howe finds history repeating itself, as she tries to choose between Ethyn and Greyson. Heated passion and violent fury are waging a war inside her, while the wolves are waging a war across the state. Will she learn to balance her internal storm before the last of the were-wolves destroy each other?
I am the writer of The Lone March Series. I have been writing since before I could read (lots of cursive lower-case e's when I transferred my daydreams to paper). Telling stories isn't just a passion for me--it's a byproduct of living. I am also a singer/musician. Some of my songs can be found, tucked in the corners of the internet, if you know where to look.
(1.5 starsa) This series had such potential but went horribly bad especially with "Moon-Burn." In this third installment, I found myself at odds with the main character, March. I just did not like her. She was always swooning over almost every male she meets including the father of her ex-boyfriend. It was really creepy and inappropriate. Also, the plot is becoming formulaic and boring. What do I mean? Well, March gets kidnapped, then her pack in detained in silver cages. She escapes but goes back to rescue her pack against incredible odds. She is almost raped. Rinse. Repeat. Enough already!!!!!!!! How about one of the characters teaching her how to fight? How about home schooling her until she can take care of herself? How about having her move to a different city?
The plot and consequences are just plain unbelievable at this point and just does not work. It was especially unsettling for me to have her continually naked in front of old men; yet, clean and chase in front of her age group. Well, I 've finished reading the three books that I purchased at the same time and will not be continuing on with the series.
*spoilers*. So this book starts out really entertaining. March in trying to find her pack there's traveling and fighting and good speed to the story. Then all of a sudden the story goes backwards. I mean it's like the packs completely forgotten and it's just March doing everyday school stuff with her being a raving bitch to everyone. And the whole Avery crush just doesn't make since to me and is completely creepy.
Creepy don't even begin to cover this one and I'm growing more confused as march is! All her classmates are weirding me out! Who can she trust, seems everyone wants something from March. And what's with this Avery dude?!
MOON-BURN will find March on the run with an unwelcome partner. Knowing his intentions towards March are for personal gain and power, she takes control of the situation from the start- using gun power at every opportunity- the former alpha wanna-be becomes her personal target. The girl should not be allowed to hold a gun but we will discover that she had a good reason to keep him under control. At this point and throughout most of this particular storyline March’s anger is out of control, but it is explained away as wolf-rage. When March attempts a rescue of the pack, Avery Harper will once again drop in like the super hero and help March save the day. But March will remain the number one person on every were-wolf’s hit list. Whoever is in possession and marks the female, has power over the other packs. And there are other packs looking to claim March as one of their own.
To complicate matters, everyone at school is now treating her like a celebrity. With at least 2 abductions (and a runaway) to her credit, March has topped the A-list for wannabes cliques and one-time enemies seeking information. But it is her ‘relationships’ with Ethyn and Greyson that amped up my angst. She continues to play a game with their hearts. Her Jekyll and Hyde persona is disconcerting for both me as the reader and, the storyline characters. Werewolf rage is not pretty, and definitely, not an easy read.
One thing that made me uncomfortable in this particular storyline- March has developed sexual feelings towards her adult guardian Avery Harper. Avery is the father (and were-raven) of her on-again/off-again boyfriend Ethyn and at every opportunity March is throwing herself into Avery’s embrace. To say the least, when a 15year old girl has a fascination with an older man, it becomes more than uncomfortable in a young adult storyline.
MOON-BURN divides the storyline between her life with the pack and her life back in school. There is no easy solution in the short term, but some major anger management is definitely something that has to be considered
Ok I have no clue how I feel now. No to Avery that is just getting creepy. March has no self control she needs to get a grip and get back with Ethyan. Forget Greyson. Elliot needs to be put down. Quinn needs to figure out how to protect March. Avery needs to put his foot down. Her best friends are turning into brats. Now what is up with new guy? Will he end up being a werecat or something? Is that why he smothers himself in colgne? Will it end up being Jessi or Decker that is not a true friend? Why does Avery feel he is the one sending the gifts? See I have more questions then answers right now. I love this series!!!!! Can not wait until next book.
i feel for her cause she is the last female and has some many people trying to protect her. but you think she would learn and try to keep out of sight but not her, she wants in all the action and to prove to her pack that she can help in ways. she is brave and strong just hope that dont get her hurt in process. waiting on the next one to come out and see what happens. it only toke me about 3 ro 4 days to read all three books.
If you haven't been completely sucked into the story by now, you will be by the time this book is done. Does have a huge cliffhanger as I am realizing all the books in this series do. Be prepared to have the book glued to your hands!
I love this series! There are lots of twists and turns to keep you wondering what will happen next! would recommend. Am anxiously waiting on the next book!
