This book answered many of my gnawing personal questions: How do grades matter? What does Matthew 6:33 really mean in light of the difficulties of school in comparison to outside life?

Jerry White addresses the difference between growing your character through discipline and becoming all the God made you uniquely to be AND being so spiritual you miss out on the opportunities to make a radical impact on culture and society because of the obstacle of hard work.

I wish he would have gone into more depth on why God desires excellence, or what one should do if they sit at mediocrity because of bad habits, as he touched on some of these things. It's not the subject of the book, but an epilogue, or direction afterwards would have been helpful for the remorseful student.

I recommend this book to anyone who is in any type of school, or hopes to make a difference in society.

*I also wished he would put a blank copy of his weekly planning grid in the book--it was good!
