Good book. I liked both Beau and Sierra. Beau is intent on getting his rodeo career back on track and training Midnight. He's been attracted to Sierra for months and trying to get a date with her for just as long. He finally gets her to go out with him one time and shares a hot kiss with her, but then she pulls back. He is a guy who watches out for other people, and Sierra is starting to worry him. She is doing a lot of crazy things like drag racing and bungee jumping. He is distracted by her and starting to feel like she belongs in his life forever. When he finds out about her eyes, his protective instincts come out, but she keeps pushing him away. I loved the way that it took a couple people pointing out his overprotective tendencies for him to understand the problem. Sierra is a very independent person. She knows she is losing her sight and she is afraid of becoming dependent on someone and then having that person walk away. She has decided that she wants to do the things she has dreamed about while she still can. She is very attracted to Beau and can easily see him in her life, but doesn't want to be a burden to him. He starts to make her mad with his watchfulness and she pushes him away even harder. I liked the way they worked things out in the end. I'm really looking forward to Tuf's story and seeing how the story ends.

Everything about this book feels real. From the relationship between the hero and heroine, the setting and situation, right down to the issues that the characters face.
I think Marin Thomas handled the heroine's sight problems, and her coming to terms with her eventual loss of sight, well. It is done with honesty and sensitivity, I particularly liked that this wasn't kept as a secret, especially not from the hero, instead it was actually acknowledge and dealt with instead of angst about. To have had it a secret, I feel, would have over dramatised the situation and overloaded with story with more conflict than was necessary.
Beau, as a hero, is pretty darn wonderful. He tries and tries to woo the heroine and that made my heart melt, and I loved that the heroine constantly surprised him.
The actions, and reactions, of the heroine are exactly what should have happened. She doesn't handle it well at times, does some rather silly things as well as having moments of feeling sorry for herself. Very gripping to read.
Overall, I found this a hard hitting read, which has a beautiful relationship blossom from what the characters are going through. The story is well written and full of tenderness, honesty and hope.

This book is a real page-turner that kept me reading until I finished it at 2 am. Beau is the only brother or cousin in the Hart family that isn't married or having babies. He fancies the owner of the new diner in town and wants to go on a date with her. Sierra has not shown any interest and he keeps going there everyday until she agrees to have dinner with him. He thinks maybe they can have a relationship but finds out Sierra isn't interested. Sierra has a problem that she doesn't want to burden anyone with so she doesn't plan on marriage or having kids. When she tells Beau why she can't be anything but friends he has a hard time coming to terms with it. He takes her to rodeos and shows her his life but she wants to go thru her bucket list before she loses her sight so Beau and her don't see things the same way.
there is a lot of soul searching and laughter and tears involved in this story. But the ending is worth all of that. I love cowboys,rodeos, and the cowboy code of the west so this book is one of favorites for awhile.

Nice blend of cowboys and the feisty women who can attract them.
Also good exploration of a disability diagnosis - informational and non-judgmental.

5 STARS!!! I enjoyed this story so much I just kept smiling as I read it! :). I highly recommend this book is you love cowboy love stories!
Beau, the hero, is a champion bull-rider, and his family raises champion rodeo bulls and buckin' bronco's for the rodeo circuit. Beau also makes gorgeous custom leather saddles.
Sierra, the heroine, owns a great diner---the best one in town. Her aunt is in town visiting with her, and has struck up a relationship with Beau's daddy that seems to be getting serious.
Beau & Sierra are very interested in each other; but Sierra has an eye disease that will eventually lead to blindness, and she doesn't want a serious relationship with a man because she doesn't want to be a burden, and she's convinced herself she doesn't want children, either.
As Beau & Sierra's relationship develops, Sierra decides to start working on her bucket list before she goes blind, and nearly scares her big, strong cowboy half to death when she wrecks a car while drag racing; then has a terrifying bungee jump accident.
Beau won't give up on their love, and Beau's proposal to Sierra, and this story's ending is sooooo romantic. Come what may, these two lovebirds were meant to be together!!

This was book 5 to a truly stunning series. This time around we got to see what lies behind the strange attitude of Beau the twin of Duke who we met earlier. And we also get to learn more about the medical condition that Sierra suffers from.
The book was a truly touching one. The author took me on a real bawling my eyes out roller coaster. I mean how sad that Sierra finally finds the man of her dreams but will he still want her when he finds out about her "secret". Just as the title suggests Beau protects his own and he is also quite handy with his hands.
He has set his sight on a championship and much like the rest of the characters we have met in the series he has one thing on his mind and one thing only except staying focused is dang hard when Sierra keeps creeping into his thoughts.
I loved how the author perfectly picked up where book four left off and also gave me more information on the mysterious Tuf (Tomas). The author brought Sierra and Beau together in one of the most heartfelt manners I have read in a long time.
Well done Marin.

Beau Hart at thirty-two, is determined to gain World Champion status before retiring from the rodeo arena. He's single and hasn't had much time for anything but the demands of ranching and riding. When Beau is home, however, his favourite Sunday meal is taken in the local diner, run by a comfortably-figured lady named Sierra Byrne.
Beau doesn't know that Sierra has inherited an eye condition which means that her sight is diminishing. Her night vision and peripheral vision are reduced and eventually she will go blind. After an incident occurs, Beau is determined to get to the bottom of this matter although Sierra tells him it is none of his business.
Sierra finally allows Beau to date her but does not want a serious relationship as she expects that a man will not want to be tied to a partially-sighted lady. She wants to do other things - like drag racing, and bungee jumping, before it is too late.

I loved the story line as it was not the "regular" type of problems that you would encounter .. shows how love can conquer anything.

Harlequin: The Harts of The Rodeo series. It was definitely a page turner for me. Romantic sweep you off your feet with a bit of real life issues sprinkled in. ~ Beau and Sierra...loves them
