naturally i must say — at first— i read this book because of the title and the cover. i was feeling a bit lost, sort of hoping for a book i could resonate with. i’ve been dealing with feelings of yearning, losing hope, doubt. the whole lighthouse imagery attracted me. after finishing, ive realized the impact the ending had on me. even throughout the middle, i was hooked the whole time and wanted more. at first, shelley’s dynamic with her husband and her home life interested me. it was definitely not perfect, but that’s what caught my wonder. i wanted to read about someone’s life, how they dealt with the mess. “now she could recall fond memories of their times together. she could savor the sweetness without lapsing into depression. “thank you Lord, for that.” she knew it was Gods healing touch that had been helping her, not the mere passing of time..” this book woke me up with the real issues humans face with trusting God. He finds so many ways to turn messes into miracles. doubt is easy, fear is easy. but asking him, anything can happen. reading about those who have experienced a lot in life also calms me. there were many older characters who had gone through years of hurt, and having to hold that. truth hits the most, and i can say for sure that this book was worth the read. this was my first from the series, but reading that cliffhanger, i want to know what’s in the lighthouse…
4th book into this series and I absolutely love it. I'm finding that I relate to Shelley mainly...probably cause she's a young mom of 2 and struggling with so much and thats my life currently. Though there's a quote that'll stick with me forever. "You can't pick amd choose what you're going to trust God with. If you have faith in God, yoire going to have to trust Him with every detail of your life." This quote and this series is really helping me in understanding a bit more about God and having faith in Him at all times even when things are rough. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys this type of fiction.
This is the fourth book in the Miracles of Marble Cove series, so far it is my favorite. Leslie Gould is an outstanding author of cozy mysteries. This book touched my heart and won’t be quickly forgotten.
A heartwarming story of friendships with a mystery that's suspense keeps you engaged. Loved how she delved into the life problems of the characters and how supportive they are to one another.
Love that setting. I like the mystery of finding out about the lighthouse. Finding a picture and trying to discover who is in it. I love the characters. Beverly working from home so she can be closer to her dad. Dan and Shelley have trouble with paying bills due to his work being slow. This is a good series to read.
We find out what work Dan has been doing at night. Dianne's books is going to be published. Beverly finds the boy in the picture who tells them to look on the east side of the lighthouse. The friendship between Shelley, Margaret, Dianne and Beverly grows.
