Vampire Forgotten
Book II

Forgotten in the mountains of Romania. Forced to live a life he didn’t choose. Suffering the daily pain of loneliness. Spending an eternity without the touch of a woman’s hand.

Though damned as a vampire, Rhad Valentine has been given what some might call the gift of psychic sight. He sees it as a constant reminder of real life going on without him—a life he cannot live.

Mischa Bonovich is on a desperate mission to find her missing sister, Rianna. Led to the mountains of her homeland by the faint call of Rianna’s voice, Mischa needs Rhad’s gift and his strength.

Wild hunger, both foreign and welcome, drives Rhad to his knees. He’d never held a woman so soft. Kissed one so responsive. And in spite of his inner protests, he’ll do anything to help her. Anything to feel just one more touch of her hand.

In the dark forests of Romania, Rhad’s desire won’t be quenched until he tastes what only Mischa can offer, but first, he must save her from a man who has nothing to lose. A man who holds a deadly secret that could tear Mischa from Rhad’s arms before love can happen.

This is the second book in the Vampires Destined series but as the author states this book is a standalone and does not need to be read in any order. I was looking forward to reading this book as I always love reading a good vampire story with a strong, passionate and sometimes brooding vampire with a lost soul.

This story had the elements that I enjoy, a brooding vampire who has been alone for so long that he sees his existence more like a curse. Rhad has lived a lonely life ever since he was turned and has never really comes to terms to who and what he is. He sees himself as a monster even though he tries to live a quiet, respectful life he knows others only see him as a vile creature of the night.

Mischa ends up at Rhad's doorstep unconscious and scantily dressed and the moment he sees her he feels that it was the Fates that brought her to him. How little does he or Mischa know that the two have been brought together by supernatural forces who have their own reason and agenda for the two to be together.

As the story unfolds Mischa slowly finds herself drawn to Rhad but tries to resist the attraction knowing what he is and that her primary task is to find her missing sister. Unknown to the both of them Mischa life is at danger from a man who has nothing to lose in ensuring his destiny.

There were a few drawbacks that I found in the story that me me feel that something was missing. It felt at that times that bits of information were missing that would help to explain the plotline for example, why was it so important for the Fates to bring these two together or Rhad's background surrounding to his isolation. I would have enjoyed to have seen the passion between these two as the author presented Rhad as being very ravishing and passionate, but all that I got was an indication that the two were intimate but no details.

Overall, it was a sweet, short story that gave me a taste of vampire love but I wished it would have given me more fire and passion.

I was lucky enough to get a ARC of Vampire Forgotten. It was very interesting and easy to follow. The characters are very believable for a paranormal book. The only downside that I was disappointed in was I was hoping even being a stand alone book it would have cleared up some questions from the first book. I was just hoping for a little more insight to the ending. Would recommend this for a fast and easy to read book. Thank you for allowing me to continue your journey.

My Thoughts and Review

Wow ! After reading Vampire Cursed I was so looking forward to the next in the series. I just love to read about sexy vampires.I loved it. For me it was a different kind of vampire story not like the others.Mischa to plans to go to Romania to find her missing sister she thinks a Vampire named Rhad has done something sinister to her sister. But, fate intervenes and she ends up on his door step half frozen and practically nude in nothing but a slip.Rhad is a vampire who has visions of things to come and he saw Mischa coming but, was shocked when encountering the real girl he has been dreaming about. The two get off to a rocky start as Mischa is distrustful and also believes the worse about vampires but, she cannot ignore the sparks the fly between them when they are together and is almost and overwhelming feeling.

The two set out on a adventure together getting to know one another forming and bond and learning to trust. Mischa has no idea someone is seeking her and she is in danger she thinks she is just there to find her missing sister.Danger lurks !Rhad knows that after being with Mischa that she is the one who he needs to share his lonely life with he just needs to get her to see the real him and not the vampire only. You learn in more detail about Rhad and about his torturous dreams he never wanted this life but, this is what he has and he is living it on his own terms. As the story unfolds you learn that there destinies cross and are linked with the past.

The story overall was and enjoyable read for me.Mischa had me laughing quite a few times in her conversations with Rhad she had quick whit and some really good come backs had me laughing out loud. The characters were like-able and having a shaman for a grandfather was a nice touch something out of the ordinary.Rhad's character had you feeling his pain and loneliness hoping that Mischa is the one who will heal him and give him a bright future he so deserves. I was rooting for him in the back of my mind. The adventure wasn't wrought with much danger as many stories have but this story flowed in a different way making that okay. My only thought that I found that I missed as these books are stand alone ones is a Epilogue I would have liked to have seen a peek into there future of the two of them...

A Recommended Read although there are other mixed reviews by others I loved it. Rachel Carrington is on my list of authors to read..........

I found this one had much more depth to the story and its characters. It draws you into the world created a bit more than the first one in series. Even though it is part of a trilogy its not the same characters from the first so can be read as a standalone. More enjoyable than the first one I felt though.

Rhad Valentine is pleasantly surprised by the gift left on his doorstep – a half naked female gift that is. Only problem is that she is unconscious and from the looks of it almost frozen to death. His second thought is to get her inside and warmed up, his first being that he hasn’t seen someone so beautiful in quite some time. He is intrigued more than anything so finds himself in a waiting game to find out why she came to his door.

Mischa wakes naked in a strange bed with no recollection of how she got there. To say she is concerned would be putting it mildly. More so when a man comes into the room and none other than the one she had come to see, Rhad. He was the last person her sister Rianna spoke about before she went missing so she is determined to get answers out of him. Well that and for him to explain how she got there. Seems neither has a clue on that one but us readers get a heads up from two friendly ghosts (one being a powerful shaman) as they were the ones that brought them together for a reason. Rhad is the only one who can help Mischa and its not just to help find her sister but to help keep her safe from the danger lurking.

Danger in the form of Hamrick, a man with nothing to lose so is willing to do whatever it takes to get to the shaman. He knows he is the only one who can save him but little does he know that the fates have other ideas in place for all of them.

The chemistry between Rhad and Mischa is subtle to begin with. She knows what he is – a vampire – but still finds herself drawn to him. Even in the midst of chaos around them from looking for her sister, Rhad’s haunted past bringing nightmares front and centre and the danger that follows them they still manage to connect on a deeper level. Rhad is different from other vampires, something he tries to explain to Mischa whether she willing to listen and accept or not. She can be hurtful with how she treats him at times but from how she makes it up to him I get a feeling that he won’t hold grudge for long.

Seems the ghosts are watching fate play out the course that was foreseen for Rhad and Mischa’s many years before. They are connected on more than a physical level but to their souls. They just have to be willing to let the other one in and really see them for it to work. Well that and try to outsmart a killer on their tracks.

Rhad Valentine opened his door one night and found a gift that took his breath away. Oh wait..he is a vampire..so no breath. He finds a beautiful girl lying on his doorstep clothed only in a slip, and unconscious. Rhad is forced to live within his castle in Romania, as a price to pay for his unwillingness to fully adapt to life as a vampire. Rhad refuses to take the blood of humans to help him survive, and because he enlisted the aid of a Shaman, he survives alone in his castle.

Mischa Bonovich, is in Romania looking for her missing sister. She wakes in a strange house, with a strange but attractive man sitting on the bed next to her. Mischa though attracted to Rhad, tries to leave to continue her search for her sister, Rianna, but Rhad feels the pull of Mischa, and refuses to allow her to leave. While this is going on, we meet the villain of this story, who will do anything to find the Shaman, whom he needs to help save his own life, and he will stop at nothing, even killing to find the Shaman.

Rhad, who has the psychic gift, knows Mischa is in danger, and he will help her on the journey to find her sister. The sexual tension between Rhad and Mischa is intense, and Rhad desperation to keep Mischa shows. He has been lonely for so long, and now he has found someone to give him these feelings again, and he will stop at nothing to protect and keep her. Mischa’s desperation will get her answers, but she knows she needs Rhad’s help.

This novella is short and sweet. There is a lot of action the last 1/3 of the book, as Mischa finds what she is looking for, as does the villain. There is another aspect that would ruin the story, and it is shown in another pov. This was a good story, light and a fast read.

This was a good story. Both Rhad and Mischa were likable and I emjoyed seeing them get together but I wish it had been a little longer as things seemed a bit rushed (although it wasn't too bad).

When the story begins, Mischa is in Romania looking for her sister. Mischa's sister had been talking to her about Rhad but to be honest either I missed it or they never said why she was interested in Rhad. Mischa's sister goes missing so Mischa comes to try to find her and since she'd been talking about Rhad, Mischa assumes Rhad knows something about her sister. However, the story begins with Rhad finding Mischa unconscious on his front step and it soon becomes apparent that someone drugged her and left her for him to find. Rhad realizes that Mischa is the one destined for him and agrees to help her find her sister but feels that he should keep himself from claiming Mischa for her own good. Unfortunately a bad guy that wants some information that he thinks Mischa knows and he causes some issues for Rhad and Mischa. The story ends with Rhad and Mischa deciding to stay together and give their relationship a chance as they head towards their HEA.

This was an enjoyable story and I liked the characters but I wish there had been more story. I'm curious enough that I may try book #3 in the series. :)

* note - I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator did a good job.

Rhad Valentine lives in the mountains of Romania and he is all but forgotten. People are afraid of his name because of what they think he is. He lives a lonely life and he knows that he will forever be by himself unless he can find the woman that completes him. Rhad also has the gift of sight and can see things.

Mischa Bonovich goes back to Romania to find her sister. Her sister said so many things about Rhad so she thinks he knows her sister. One moment she is in her hotel run getting ready and awakes in a strange bed and a bedroom she doesn't recognize. When Rhan walks in she knows who she is standing in front of him. She has done her research and knows what he is.

There is a connection between these two and fates has their hand in it. Only Rhad can save Mischa from the dangers that are ahead. If only she can trust him and what she feels for him.

This was a great read and different than the first one. Each book can be read in any order because it doesn't matter and you won't be missing anything.

Book 2 in the Vampire Destined Series is a stand alone story. At first I was disappointed that we didnt get to see any characters from the first book. With that said, this story had a little bit of everything, romance, adventure and suspence. Once I started reading, I was so pulled in to the story that I forgot about my disapointment. I was also glad to see that Rachel Carrington didnt follow the cookie cutter pattern that I see in so many of series. I do look forward to book 3 and to see where Rachel take us next.

I love a good tortured vamp I really do, I'm not sure what to make of this book. I read the first in the series and enjoyed it well enough, this ! I don't think it was laid out in a way that you understood what was happening, what country she started in why she was there...

I read it quickly enough though..

I cried like a big baby at this story. These characters are so wonderful and easy to connect with, you really hope for happy things for them. It also doesn't take away that the writing and the plot are cleverly put together and make an entertaining and addictive read!

This review reflects both book 1 and 2. They just did not keep me interested.
