From This is a story of a Texas cowboy, his five children and ranch life back in the thirties, fourties and fifties. A lot of the book is about the Wolf Place on Boquillas Land and Cattle Company located in southeastern Cochise County, Arizona. The Wolf Place is now managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It has been renamed the San Pedro House and is open to the public. We saw the end of an era - the demise of the cowboy and his way of life. This was brought about mostly by the eradication of the screw worm, modernization and drought. The team of mules and he wagon were replaced by the pickup truck and horse trailer. Families moved into town for the modern conveniences. A truly great way of life was gone. Only 1,000 copies of this book are cuurently in print.
