Other Women

Rate this book
Three women, all very different, but each with their own problems. Jane is determined to save the family home for her children, despite the financial problems she has had since her husband’s premature death. The only way she can survive is to sell off parcels of the property. So Sam has moved in next door, with her husband Ben, and is now marooned in the country with a teenage stepdaughter she resents. Down at the lodge, Bella and her family have been uprooted from London to follow her husband’s dream of an idyllic new life in the country. But the cracks of their marriage are beginning to show. Each woman is drawn inexorably into the lives of the others, whether she likes it or not.

Cannot believe I even finished this it's not even worth one star. Boring, terrible characters that are so difficult to relate to and like. Do not waste your valuable time when there are other amazing books out there.

Well I have to say I didn't love it and it took me months to finally finish it.
Although first chapters was boring but the ending was good and has good points.

Great read…if you’re a fan of British domestic drama (Joanna Trallope, Clare Downing, Erica James, etc) then I highly recommend it

This story follows three women that share a country estate in England. Jane owned the estate but was forced to sell bits off after her husbands death to keep a small nitch for her children. Sam and her husband move into the other half of Jane's former house, renovating it to high society standards. Bella is a newly uprooted London-ite not quite as in love with the country as her husband Iain is but is making the move for the sake of the kids. This novel follows the three women (although it mostly focuses on Bella, then Jane and a smidge of Sam) and their lives as they intertwine with one anothers lives and alter each of them forever.

The novel is a lot darker than I originally thought. I picked it up thinking it to be a chick lit light novel about 3 women whom become friends over spots of tea at high noon in the garden or whatnot. Instead it is a darker chick lit novel about life and all of its harsh realities. From letting yourself go to far, to keeping yourself in too much - this novel runs the gauntlet of everything there and in between but it makes for a fascinating read that you won't be able to put down once you start going.

Was captivating for the moment; I read the whole thing in two days. It is good but doesn't have a longlasting impact. I finished it a week ago and had to scan the backside to remember the characters..

I loved this book, makes you feel that maybe your life isn't that bad after all! A book to give somebody if they are thinking of straying! You wouldn't do it if you read the outcome an what can happen! On the positive side it left me feeling warm inside,a lovely read.

Once I sorted out who was who, I really enjoyed this book. The author created characters with distinct personalities. Each has their own story, however, their lives become intertwined. It's fun to follow the events and how they all play out. Suspenseful!

Really good story. One of those books you just love to curl up with. Not the ending you would expect :)
