Overall, a fascinating story, but a little bit scattered. The first chapter started really well, but that style of writing did not persist through the entire book. It made it seem like it would be that way, which would have been exciting, but instead it ended up being more of a "telling about a life" rather than more storytelling and sprucing it up a little bit.
I admire everything Wallenberg did during WWII - what a hero! My favorite parts were reading about the rescue of Jews that were death marched out of Budapest by the Nazis. Incredible!
The parts I didn't find as intriguing (but still necessary to the story, I believe) were the parts about politics. Why he was there, who sent him, whose money was he using, etc.
Parts were exciting and parts were boring, it fluctuated depending on the time of his life they were focusing on. The parts about him being in Russian prison were gripping!
