Wow, this wasn't nearly as bad as pobre ana and I actually somewhat enjoyed this one. Although the story is dull, repetitive, and predictable , I gave it a 4 stars because I felt accomplished t have been able to understand most of this book and this demonstrates to me personally how far I've come from knowing nothing of Spanish to knowing something. The story was bearable and the learning experience was fun so 4 stars.

Carl is an incompetent brat. He is unworthy of the love his mom gives him and only gets his act together after he gets something for himself. He doesn’t stop to consider how the move could positively affect his moms career and complains to her face about it even though they will move back in a year. He sets a bad example for kids everywhere. /hj

Cute story of a kid who moves to Mexico with his mom. At first, he is very reluctant and is very negative about the new town he is living in. However, he takes in a stray dog and discovers an interest in helping the homeless stray dogs find homes. Over time, he comes to love his new home and at the end of the year when he and his mother are supposed to move back to the USA, he begs his mother to stay another year.

Easy Spanish story that works well in my first year Spanish class.
