4 stars for this one, a short and charming tale of death, courage and unbelievable hope for Engall, Chandler the guy that Engall fancies from afar, and Engall's guardian angel Dagiel who tries to bring him back from his untimely death(s)

Well, you'd be really peeved if you'd had the day Engall had....I mean I wouldn't have wished it on my worst enemy....well, maybe Gary Carter of 'Fettered' fame....but that's another story for another day....

What if it took an act of divine intervention to ensure you’d live long enough to find your soul mate? To make you embrace who you are, to find the courage to accept yourself, to finally see yourself as someone else sees you, and the inner light that shines from within?? What if it took that same divine intervention to help you come out to your parents, even though they already suspected and loved you regardless, that you could finally find the courage to tell the one person you thought you loved that you loved them? And what if this happened several times over as the previous attempts didn't work out, and you got several 'do-overs' until something actually went right??

Engall gets shot (and killed) twice, and run over by a bus twice, as everything Dagiel tries to do goes horribly wrong, but then gets several 'do-overs' until he is back in the place that he should have been in originally - the place where he gets told by Chandler that he is in love with him, and that it's not what he looks like on the outside that counts...but what's on the inside.

Oh, and there may even be a Happy Ever After for our guardian angel himself....

This had a very Ground Hog Day feel to it. Engall is crushing on Chandler but he keeps ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time and his guardian angel, Dagiel, keeps sending him back down to get it right.

Amusing, snarky and sweet with odd gruesome overtones as poor Engall is Kenny'ed over and over again.

This was funny, sweet, and incredibly cute.

Engall has been invited to a party. A party where his crush, Chandler, is going to be. But he decides not to go. It will be too crowded for sweet, insecure Engall.

Engall decides he want some M&Ms so he goes to buy them at a gas station. And gets shot. In the head. Now he is very very dead.

He meets his shabby guardian angel who tells him he should have gone to that party. He gets a do-over.

This time Engall stops for condoms on his way over to the party and gets shot. Again.

His next do-over involves getting under a truck and dying.

After that there are all kinds of scenarios where Engall ends up dying. His guardian angel decides he should just stay home, don’t go to the party to hook up with his soul mate.

Of course everything works out in the end and we get a really sweet HEA. It was wonderful. This short story got me all happy.

What’s bad when you can sit down for an hour or so to read and it is pure simple enjoyment? This is a book that leaves you warm inside and a smile on your face. Amy Lane and her newest Novella called Do Over was just what I needed after a rough week of work and today is a wet, rainy Saturday.

Engall has had a crush on Chandler forever. Christina, his room mate, has just told him “Chandler is throwing a thing" and Engall being the good student said he had to stay and do homework. He was in the middle of trig and had a tremendous desire for M & M’s. He rationalized it was too late to go to the party, so he went down to the corner to a convenience mart, unknowing a robbery was in progress. At 23 his life was over, shot by a robber at the Circle K.

Moments passed and he heard a voice saying “You didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye”. Looking all over, he looked up and saw an angel. Engall looked up and said “You’re an Angel?” The angel snapped “was it the halo or the wings that gave me away?” This is the story of Engall and Daigel trying to get it right.

Remember the movie Groundhog Day? Amy Lane sure does, and has written a heart warming story about a screw up angel and a boy who never had a chance ...until he got a Do Over (or two, or three)

Please sit down a while, take the world off your shoulders, kick your feet up and smile and read a feel good Novella. Take it all in, Amy doesn’t give us many, but when she does... Inspiration !

Remember what you Mother taught you???If you don't succeed Try Try again?

Dying numerous times really shouldn't be funny, but in this case it is. Engall is a sorta geeky engineering student. He's not good at engineering, but he hasn't decided to switch majors. He has an amazing roommate, Christina, who invites him to a party given by his secret crush, Chandler. Engall has never admitted to being gay even to himself, though as it happens some people kind of guessed.

When Engall decides he won't go to the party, he walks I to getting shot during a gas station robbery. His very irritated guardian angel, Dagidl, says oh no no no! Engall wasn't supposed to die, he wasn't even supposed to be at the damn gas station. It's time for a do over, which will also allow Engall to do important things such as coming out to his parents. Dagiel wants Engall to end up with his soul mate at that party, so what the heck is going on!

This story was funny and fun. Engall just needs a little push to see the real him. Absolutely loved when he comes out to his very blunt dad, because it's the reaction I wish everyone could have. Chandler is sweet, and I thought the ending just perfect.

I loved Engall and Chandler, the new first-blush of love melted me completely but the real story is the angel of fish, Dagiel. He's sort of filling in, not so sure about the whole guardian angel gig, but doing his best hence the "do-over". The sarcasm, the wit, as he and Engall learn together about life and love and second chances was the best part. I laughed so hard and it enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommended.

This is such an adorable, amazing, and funny story that I don’t even know where to start, or how to tell you about it without giving it all away. Okay. Let me begin by saying that I have a really weak spot for guardian angels who have trouble with their job. Dagiel, who is supposed to help Engall, fulfills that role in spades. The humor inherent in the situation is brilliant to start with, and Dagiel's and Engall's conversations are too funny.

Engall is the proverbial geeky nerd who also happens to be clumsy. His secret crush, Chandler, wonders why, or rather how, Engall even survived as long as he did. Engall knows he is gay, doesn’t dare to come out, and needs a really big reminder about the shortness of life before he will move. Understanding and accepting himself is the first step. It may take him a while, and several twists of fate, but he does get there. Sort of.

Chandler is wonderful and as perfect a man as Engall deserves. I'm not going to say too much about him so I don’t ruin the surprise of the story for you, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you fell a little in love with him by the end.

This is a real fee-good story that is uplifting, easy and fun to read, and has the perfect happy ending – on all levels! If you like angels, especially the ones with a few flaws, if you enjoy a shy man learning to accept himself and become more courageous, and if you're looking for a sweet story that has a sense of humor, give this one a try. I hope you like it as much as I did.
