What I liked most about this book was its emphasis on how most snakes are not poisonous. It reveals that almost 85 percent of the world's population is harmless. It verifies my memory of my mother's pet garter snake just basking in the garden with her. The reason is that cold-blooded animals need the warmth from the sunlight.
This book has a good deal of other intriguing information to share, as well. I particularly like the imagery in it. The book describes even stranger types the photographer wasn't able to find yet. Maybe sometime later. I'll be keeping an eye out.
