They arrive alive. They leave dead. But first, they give me their confessions and this time - it's all about the couples who kill together.Inside this book are 4 DeathBed Confessions that relate to things these couples 852 is a Preacher with a past.Patient 1123 shouldn’t be trusted.Patient 901 are farmers with buried secrets.Patient 643 has a thing for soil and gardens.WHO AM I? I think by now you know who I am...Jack Steen and for those who arrive on my 'death' ward at the Asylum, I'm the last face many will see before they die. I'm the night nurse at the Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Most of my patients are serial killers and mass murderers and they know me as the Angel of Death. I offer my patients a in exchange for an easy death, I want their story. Not the one anyone can read about in the papers, I want the real story - the one they haven't told anyone else. Some of these killers have never confessed to their crimes, some kept certain information to themselves...those are the stories I want. If they give them to me, I'll make their death...easier.They're already dying, that's why they're now my patients. If they play nice, I can make their death less painful. But only if they play nice and tell me their confessions. The majority of these killers are expert manipulators. I realize they could be playing me and messing with my head. It's a chance I'm willing to take. And now...they might just be playing with yours too.Fans of Stephen King, Joe Hill and like to read books like The Bird Box, The Haunting and can't get enough stories about serial killers are going to enjoy reading the deathbed confessions from The There is swearing in this book. And some stories might be a trigger for something you have a hard time handling. But, these are the confessions of serial killers, mass murderers and such, so what do you expect?
I must admit, this latest installment lacked the same level of shock value as the previous books, given its focus on love and partners. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the delightful edits Jack included intermittently. I am eagerly anticipating the next installment, which promises to delve into the topic of cults.
I would have given it 5 stars if the author hadn't of used such foul language Constantly!!! Enough!!! You have Great stories to tell. VERY shocking with great twists and turns. Highly recommend your books but stop with the cussing in practically every paragraph please! It's like overkill...semi pun intended.
Jack Steen's collection of books have been so much fun to read. The series is based around "asylum confessions." The MC is a night nurse at an asylum for the criminally insane. He's nicknamed the Angel Of Death, as he sometimes "makes deals" with those about to / ready to pass away to get a confession out of them that no one has yet heard. Each book in the series is a specific theme. This one would be crimes done by couples.
The author does an amazing job with his character building. He doesn't let you forget that these are .... NOT good guys.. these are criminals whom have done some evil / monstrous things. BUT he does treat them like human beings, and even has a slightly soft spot for some here and there.
Definitely, ummmmm, I felt like a couple of these were just a little different than the stories told in earlier novels. Not as good, editing still needs work...the ending of the audible version via Hoopla was not cut correctly!
I can safely say that I'm now addicted to reading this series of books. Call me sick or twisted, I don't care. But, I can't wait for more books to read. Please keep them coming!
I love Jack Steen's books. He tells a great story and doesn't miss a thing. His job is not an easy one but he does care for each and every patient he gets on his floor. You must read his books because you'll enjoy each and every one of them.
Jack Steen has an incredible way of capturing my attention with his books and stories! The confessions of the criminally insane keep you hooked throughout reading them! Highly recommend reading these stories and discovering Jack's writing style for yourselves as you will not be disappointed!
Was not expecting the last one though ngl I was surprised by the end!
Warning, story contains: murder, blood, knife-play, SA, etc
"The couple who slay together stay together... right? Yeah... that's not really what happens."
Patient 852 is a Preacher with a past. Patient 1123 shouldn't be trusted. Patient 901 are farmers with buried secrets. Patient 643 has a thing for soil and gardens.
Welp, Steen does it again. Here I am binging his books because I have a morbid curiosity of what these confessions will hold.
Imagine being criminally insane and being given the opportunity to die on your terms: no pain and when you're ready. The catch? You must give your truth... the truth that you've never given anyone.
Till Death Do Us Part is the couples edition in the Asylum Confessions and I thought that this book would be one of my favorites. *le sigh* This book gets 3.5 stars because certain parts of the book were really captivating, but other parts I felt like I had to force myself to read because they just lacked the gripping stories that we are all here for.
Whether dude is really who he says he is(or does what he says he does) or not, I am still fighting the typos, editing errors, etc. I'm not taking any stars away for this - I just want people to be aware in case things like that take them out of the story like it does me. Beyond that, I have to say that Steen definitely delivers stories that most morbidly curious souls will enjoy.
I am SO addicted to this delightfully-twisted series. Whenever a new one comes out, I brew a pot of coffee, assemble an assortment of snacks, turn off my phone, shut out the world and commence reading the next-in-series from The Beginning to The End, all in one sitting.
I enjoyed the farmer story the most. This is the third book I've read by this author. Most have been pretty good stories. This book could have used a proofreading, but otherwise, recommend.
The couple that kills together, stays together. Interesting reading. Still trying to figure out if they’re true stories or just based on true stories. Enjoyed reading them either way.
Honestly… This series is getting repetitive and I think this will be the last installment I read (for at least a while, I need something else to read). Also I know the author said he’s no Stephen King but is there 0 editing whatsoever in these books? A couple typos, wrong use of your, whose instead of who’s, etc. It’s becoming increasingly more obvious of the flaws in the book. Also I know the MC hates farmers but low key I’m tired of reading about them too. How many farmer stories are we going to read about?!
On Jack’s floor, people come to die. If they’re lucky, they get a deal. In this book we have Preacher, Beth, Wilson, and Sam. The best story? Sam. The worst? Probably all the other three combined, they were lacking in all honesty.
Overall these are good reads when you want to read something intriguing like deathbed confessions or a break from heavier material books. But the flaws and repeating of material is lackluster.
This one was my least favorite of Steen’s so far. These were just lacking something for me. The theme of this one is obviously couples. Yuck.
First up is the preacher which I think I found the most interesting of the four. The preacher fell for a girl and married her. Turned out she was a freak. They did freaky sex stuff and then she got into mutilating and killing.
Beth was a cutter and was covered in her self mutilation. She tells Jack about how she did everything for the love of her life and how he helped her with all the murders. However there’s no proof that guy ever existed.
Wilson is another farmer. This was the worst one I’ve read so far. I don’t read these. I listen and I couldn’t understand a dang word this man was saying due to the breathy voice they did for him. Ruined the story.
Sam didn’t hold my attention. Killed people and used them for soil I think? Ehhh next!!!

over all this book was mid. Short in length and can be a quick 3 hr read. The theme of this book was about Murderous couples but honestly I think it was about murderous wives and loving husbands although the last one was definitely a crazy husband
I really enjoyed the first book in this series but they’re getting worse as I work through them. I found this one dull and there wasn’t one of the stories I was particularly interested in. Disappointing
