Quality pictures, charts, outlines, and a comprehensive knowledge of archaeology and modern viewpoints make this one of the most helpful and interesting introductions available.
I purchased this book my freshman year of Bible College (1975). Judging from the notes in the margin, I am sure that I read it back then but most of it had escaped me. It was good to get reacquainted with it. Like the title suggests this is a survey of each of the books that makes up the New Testament. Besides giving such vital information as author, date, destination, and purpose, the author also gives a very succinct analysis of the contents of each segment of those books. To me this is the primary value of this old standard. I am sure there are many other NT surveys that have come out since this volume was published in 1974, but in my mind they will always be measured by this book that I read as a 19 year old freshman.
Having had Dr. Gromacki as a professor while attending Cedarville College, I appreciate this book all the more. He was a wonderful teacher. I treasure the time I had with him.
