This is another marvellous anthology of horror/suspense stories not really part of the Mammoth Best Horror series and although not mentioned on Goodreads Ramsey Campbell is also joint editor with Jones on this anthology. The most significant thing that comes to mind about the anthology is that, like many older horror and sf anthologies the cover art, though fun, has nothing to do with any story.

There are great writers and stories in this anthology, I enjoyed it massively but then I enjoy horror stories in small amounts, such as a short story.

Typically good collection from one of the top editors and one of the top writers in the field. It's a melding of best New Horror 3 & 4, from the early 1990s.Among the highlights are stories by Peter Straub, Thomas Ligotti, Steve Rasnic Tem and Roger Johnson. One genuine oddity is SNODGRASS by Ian MacLeod, a vivid speculation on John Lennon's life after he quits the Beatles . . . in 1962.
