There are few autobiographies that give such strong motivation to selflessly do more in life. Fred consistently stuck with what he thought was right, even if it wasn't 100% legal. Very wonderful book and such an amazing life. It was impressed upon me that he had an amazing life because he decided to do things for the greater good, something that I, and perhaps many others, believe we will do *later* when all other affairs are in order. Do it now!

This man was great, in the true sense of the word. With a larrikin sense of humour and a can-do attitude, Fred Hollows always fought for what he thought was right. An inspiring story of a man who did not waste a moment of the short life that he had.

An interesting book about a person who did some amazing things in his lifetime. It is an easy, entertaining read even though it is an autobiography.

A well-written biography about a man who contributed so much to others while doing what he loved. An interesting, captivating and inspiring read.

Skipped a couple of chapters I must confess. Focused mainly on his work I got the feeling he glossed over the more personal aspects of his life.....
