7th year AU, where both H and D are head prefects.
Draco in this fic is sooo toxic, and totally fucked up by his father. Even after his feelings for Hermione grows, he keeps calling her a mudblood.
Now, I didn't read it fully, because I honestly CAN'T read long chapters (which was the case in this fic), but at least until c13, Harry is really annoying and is having this weird type of crush in Hermione. I like Ron bashing in dramione, but this mature version of him is actually super good!
Anyways, I might finish this later, since the writing and the plot was amazing!

September 13, 2024This was plain atrocious. Omgggg how tf do people give such a disgusting story 4/5 stars is beyond me. I love toxic Draco and hermione. I have read my fair share of stuff with them. But this was such shit writing. The plot went nowhere and there were such huge grammatical errors. I couldn’t take a single line seriously as the characters were soooooo soooo OOC & immature. Even teens today don’t say some of the shit that was written as a sorry excuse of “dialogues” in this fic.
Again, a dumb af hermione and slytherin fuckboi Draco. Gimme a friggin break. A sob story of domestic violence in the malfoy family to justify Draco’s shit actions of abuse and essentially rape is horrifying. Hermione was sooooo stupid and dumb. Pansy and milicent beat her to a pulp and literally abuse her to the maximum extent. She was abused sooo sooo badly and yet hermione didn’t report them and didn’t say anything at all. I was waiting for her to eviscerate them and go all BAMF but none of that happened.
Also, for a fic that claimed Draco to be sooooo possessive and obsessed with hermione, Draco didn’t do ANYTHING solid to take any revenge on those 2 bitches for what they did to hermione. The moment he sees pansy when he knew of what she did, he just asks her to apologise and only when pansy instigated him with the same slurs (“mudblood”), that he still himself keeps calling hermione even after the abuse she went through because of him itself, he out of sheer rage hits pansy hard that her skull cracks a bit. But still not enough in my opinion. He then remembered how his dad used to hit mommy malfoy and goes on to throw up immediately after. Btw, Draco just keeps on throwing up throughout this fic. It’s like 1/4th portion of this story was him throwing up lmaoooo.
There was no plot to advance. Nothing to go on about. No character develop whatsoever. It’s like an 11 year old high school bully themselves wrote this trash. I am beyond pissed. Nothing of consequence happened to pansy. She legit gets away with everything.
Also; don’t even get me started over how hermione treated Ron and Harry. She was soooo dumb and her friends were just looking out for her. Yes, Harry was being annoying at times but that was just the writers trying to make them look bad bcoz otherwise, how will you ever make Draco malfoy look any good in comparison to the main canon leads?!
This is a common tactic amongst the worst dramione fics. The writers make Ron and Harry sooooooo bad and overly hateful, that you can’t help but root for Draco as he is painted as the hero instead. I am all for the Ron and Harry bashing but there is a limit. It goes so over the top that I couldn’t even take the story seriously. From the very first chapter, I couldn’t take a single thing these characters were saying seriously. Draco legit looking in the mirror and singing his own praises about how hot and sexy he is and OMGGG how much every girl wants him. Barf! 🤢 soooo damn cringe!
I literally question the intellect of people who like this kind of dog shit. Everyone has grey areas in terms of their taste in FanFiction. I myself like some stuff that is conventional toxic. But how do people end up loving such blatantly obvious bad writing baffles me to no extent.
Draco was literally screwing slags left and right even after kissing and almost having sex with hermione. That’s a huge dealbreaker right there. I don’t know why not a single reviewer in the dramione realm, mentions the occurrence of OW & OM drama in the fics. IDC if they weren’t officially together, to me it was cheating and quite frankly disgusting. And hermione the stupid bint let Draco take her virginity even after hearing him fuck pansy right after he almost took her virginity the first time they got intimate.
And would you like to know when she gave him her virginity? Right after she was beaten into a bloody pulp and brutally attacked by those 2 slytherin bitches. He goes down to get his wand and healing potions for her and gets too busy making pansy only “apologising” and doesn’t even care that she must be writing in pain in their shared dorm while he wastes time with pansy. He goes back up, throws up for the 100th time, and the author makes such a horrific event that happened to hermione about Draco’s trauma all over again. After that, what happened to hermione is glossed over and she doesn’t even experience any real trauma. Lmfaaoooo!!!

I question what kind of people write this messed up crap. I don’t get usually worked up over fanfics. But man oh man, one has to be extremely extremely egregious, for me to have such a hard fit that I take it on to myself to actually pen down a goddamn long review.
Seriously, i would just stick to the suggestions people have in their goodreads reviews in terms of dramione. I made a mistake taking fic recommendations from Reddit under specific tropes. Man oh man! The no. Of sheer crappy fics I have read over the course of this week has flummoxed me. Just how do people enjoy such trashy fics?!! That too after reading something like manacled.
Writing platforms should seriously have some higher standards. I am all for free entertainment. But glorification of abuse and bullying is disgusting.
Save yourselves some damn time on this one and read something better. There is a 10000000000 more fics which are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than this one. Don’t even bother picking this one up.

June 7, 2021Decided to pass at 4%. Pretty long fic. Everyone has been yelling to communicate at this point. Hermione seemed to be heading for abuse by Draco, as he's a lazy head boy and she does his work for him. I prefer when she stands up for herself. I think this was too much teen angst for me.

It was a good. 7th year Fic. I usually read post war or when they’re a bit older but I heard good things. The stream of consciousness was new for me but mostly I rather enjoyed it. I liked the dynamics of the golden 3 vs Draco especially as he's grappling with those pesky emotions

Here we go - another Dramione that misses the mark. I was actually very invested and intrigued by the story during the first half of this fic, but then I started to realize this fic was going nowhere, which also turned out to be true in the end. The storyline is very flat and there really isn't much going on.
At first I enjoyed Draco and Hermione struggling to evolve from enemies to lovers, but after a while I got so sick of reading all these endless dialogues that never resulted in anything but Draco and Hermione arguing and then having cringe sex. Maybe I'm just too old for teen angst, idk, but I felt they were always arguing about nonsense. I also did NOT enjoy the endless inner monologues. My god, this fic could have been half as long without the chatty monologues. I just skipped a good part of the fic because of them, trying to focus on the dialogues instead.
Hermione is annoying AF. Always holding back for no good reason and it made no sense that she should be such a commitment phobic. Draco is toxic, which I don't mind, but he is also a douche and lacks ambition. That is unforgiveable in my book. No girl in her right mind would want a relationship with this guy, and definitely not Hermione. Ngl, I always feel that the version of Draco that sleeps around and treats women like shit is OOC.
Harry is just really weird and described as having some sort of odd crush on Hermione, but that he doesn't really act upon and in the end of amounts to nothing. However, Ron is a surprisingly pleasant character in this fic, probably one of the better versions I've encountered. Pansy is whatever. I don't mind an evil Pansy, but this was just a big meh for me.

Ok this cover is sooooooooooo deceiving because this shit ain't lovey dovey. This is weird, twisted and cruel. It was messy. I like mess.
That being said, I didn't like the fact that I was reading about 17 year old abusive sexual deviants. I get such an ick so I just pretend they're older.
There was way too much dialogue and it was hard to follow along. It read very much like Lemonade where we are in the head of the abuser (Draco in this case). Writing felt frantic too often, which would have been nice if used more sparingly.
Lacking a bit of development/ believability in the transition from enemies to lovers.

2.5 ⭐️ This fic was really wordy. I skimmed over a lot of it and still felt it was long. It was hard to stay interested. This is all about character development, no plot. Draco is so toxic and I loved it. Hermione was all over the place and it was difficult to follow.
