Cats and dogs shouldn’t fall in love.

Like any wolf, RPD detective Nate knows this. He can’t help it if the tigress he’s been trading quips with at the supermarket is the most alluring woman he’s ever met.

Evina is aware their flirtation can’t lead to more. Still, she relishes trading banter with the hot werewolf. This hardworking single mom hasn’t felt so female since her twins’ baby daddy left. Plus, as a station chief in Resurrection’s Fire Department, she understands the demands of a dangerous job.

Their will-they-or-won’t-they tango could go on forever if it weren’t for the mortal peril the city’s children fall into. To save them, Nate and Evina must team up, a choice that ignites the sparks smoldering between them . . .

RPD detective Nate Rivera knows that wolves and tigers don't mix, at least in a physical sense, but it doesn't stop him from flirting with tiger shifter/alpha Evina Mohajit at the grocery store. With each interaction the pull is harder to resist and neither can deny that they are wanting something a bit more.

When Nate has a case that leaves him with a sinking feeling that all is not what it seems, he asks Evina to use her gifts to see if she can sense anything that will help him with the case. As the case begins to unfold each of their packs are unsure about the tiger/wolf couple and the danger turns out to be closer than they think.

This was a weird one for me, although I love shifter stories I generally don't read full on supernatural with faes, gargoyles, etc. The concept behind the Hidden series is a whole town of Resurrection where all types of creatures inhabit and I have to say I liked it. This was a pleasant surprise and kept me riveted until the end.

I quite enjoyed this one until this happen

Her walk as she departed was a different kettle of sexy from her daughter’s. Nate would have bet good money Rita had been practicing being slinky all her life. Her sway in her high-heeled sandals was too deliberate. Being who he was, Nate admired the performance. Evina’s crew appeared to as well. More than one male nose twitched at the trail of tigress and patchouli Rita left behind her.
“You can pull your tongue back into your mouth,” Evina said sourly.
Nate grinned...

for your information Evina's the heroine and Rita's heroine's mother..

How I got this book: ARC from the author

Cats and dogs aren’t supposed to fall in love. Like any wolf, RPD detective Nate Rivera knows this. He can’t help it if the tigress he’s been trading quips with at the supermarket is the most alluring woman he’s ever met—sassy too, which suits him down to his designer boots.

Evina Mohajit is aware their flirtation can’t lead to more. Still, she relishes trading banter with the hot werewolf. This hardworking single mom hasn’t felt so female since her twins’ baby daddy left to start his new family. Plus, as a station chief in Resurrection’s Fire Department, she understands the demands of a dangerous job.

Their will-they-or-won’t-they tango could go on forever if it weren’t for the mortal peril the city’s shifter children fall into. To save them, Nate and Evina must team up, a choice that ignites the sparks smoldering between them . . .
This blurb came from the author’s website here.

When I received the request for a review from Ms Holly, I did not have to think twice before decided to accept because as I have stated in previous reviews she is one of my favorite erotic authors. Then when I read the blurb and realized that with this installment of her Hidden series, third after Hidden Talents and Hidden Depths, she was returning to the city of Resurrection I had to start reading immediately. I found it to be a lot of fun to revisit Resurrection and see what was happening with the werewolf pack introduced in Hidden Talents .

In this particular installment things aren’t exactly running smoothly for the werewolves. Professionally they are still working hard as the police force but on a more personal or should I say internal pack level things were slightly unsettled. One of the wolves, Nate, wasn’t comfortable in his pack position anymore. He knew he wasn’t Alpha and didn’t want to try to become Alpha but he kept having issues with the respect he owed his Alpha, Adam, (the hero of Hidden Talents). It wasn’t an issue of poor leadership Nate just had to continue almost challenging Adam every time they were around each other.

After encountering a horrific crime scene and arguing with Adam about pursuing a clue that had nothing to do with their current case he decided to go grocery shopping to let off some steam. Adam is what you would call a metro-sexual if a werewolf could be one. He likes nice things and will save until they are available rather then just get something to fit the needed purpose. And he also likes women, a lot. The particular supermarket he prefers is high-end and affords him with lots of chances to flirt with the ladies old, young, species indiscriminate although he does lighten the message when it involves non-wolves. One of the ladies he usually flirts with is a tiger shifter who happens to run a fire-station. It was interesting to see how the tigers had the fire department and the wolves had the police department. Makes for an interesting rivalry.

Elvina, the tigress, is a single parent raising her twins with the help of her mother. Her son was responsible for providing cupcakes for the monthly birthday celebration in his class so she was making a late night trip to go buy them when she ran into a Nate who was not his usual self. She decided to see what was going on and from there Nate asked her to help him check out the crime scene. Apparently Tigers are good at astral projection and the one who was usually on call for the police was taking a well-deserved vacation. Elvina agrees to help and that really starts their transition to lovers.

I enjoyed both the hero and heroine a lot. They were complete separately and when they finally matched up it was amazing. The supporting characters also helped flesh out the story and were more then just window dressing. The issues with cross-species trust let alone a cross-species romance were also dealt with quite nicely. Things were all rainbows and hearts but took some working and adjusting from all parties. The clandestine investigation that Nate and Elvina were conducting and the investigation that the police department had been working were intermingled nicely within the threads of the romance. They helped to build external and internal conflict.

I can’t say what happened with the investigations, how Nate and Elvina managed to work out their romance, or even how Nate settles his position within the werewolf pack with out some massive spoilers. I will say that this is a romance and to trust the author to make it all work without seeming too convenient. Since this is a book written by Emma Holly the smex will be erotic grin.

Ms Holly is one of a few authors whose self-published works I find to be more polished then a lot of the work coming out of traditional publishing. It makes a huge difference knowing that I will not be jerked from the story due to an error that should have been caught during the editing process. I wish more self-published authors would continue in this trend.

Hidden Crimes is a very entertaining complete story. I loved returning to Resurrection and I hope we get more set in that city. It is extremely complex and each installment has revealed more about this world and its inhabitants.
I give Hidden Crimes an A

I really enjoyed Nate and Evina (even when I am wondering how she got that name with an Indian heritage and last name) and their interactions. The reason for their getting better acquainted was a really ugly crime (trigger warning if you have a problem with toddlers in mortal danger) which played out well for me, but then I don't really read crime fiction so I don't know how believable and logical the hints to the evil guys were. I was very happy with the fact that they had noticed each other before, it made the fast attraction much more believable.

I loved the interaction of Nate's werewolves, the interaction of Evina's family and workplace and the way that when these two strong characters decided they wanted each other, they really made it work.

That may even be the most unrealistic part of the story, heh - Nate and Evina both never ignored their feelings for each other, they always thought of the whole picture, they always respected each other and asked for permission and - this being EH - the sex was spot on perfect for them both and fiery hot.

The secondary characters felt like they had their own life, too. The nods to brand names in our world were cute most of the time (I thought Elfmark was a bit too frou-frou, though). This was just a very nice, equal opportunity pick-me-up HEA with big happy family celebration and tears and cheers.

This book was great on a number of points. For one thing, I like that Nate isn't the alpha of the pack. You do wonder how those other wolves feel about their places in the hierarchy. I like that Evina IS an alpha boss, who has been looking for a man who won't be threatened by that. Evina's children are adorable. Her mother is both exasperating and loving. It was neat to see Adam in a different light, not necessarily the infallible alpha. The mystery was both horrifying and intriguing, and the view of police procedure interesting. I really liked that Evina is a fortysomething single mother - that's my demographic!

Emma always writes great characters and great plots, and this was no exception.

It sure seemed like we'd see some but alas, just some toys. Bummer.

This was an ok mf pnr read. I still like Hidden Depths (Hidden, #2) by Emma Holly the best in this series.

Both Nate and Evina are pretty strong characters and the path to falling in love was believable. Nate was ready to settle down and took to Evina's kids wonderfully.

So, so good. This series just keeps getting better. I love Resurrection with it's world of magical and semi-magical characters. The story was gripping (babies! in danger!), plus a sweet, hot love story between equally strong MCs. Great book.

This is a book worth reading more than once. I was so thrilled with the mystery, the sense of urgency to solve the crime and the dynamic relationship building between two characters that were not supposed to fall in love, that one time was not enough. I did read it twice and I’m amazed as to how completely the world Ms. Holly created sucked me in the second time around.

I realize that Ms. Holly is known for her scenes of sexual complexity and imagination but with Hidden Crimes she proved that she can make a reader’s heart thud triple time for entirely different reasons. This novel is hard-edged, driven and it barrels through any preconceived notions that this was to be a sexy bit of fluff. The conflict is a bit harsh and horrifying to even contemplate. I can’t even guess what the author must have gone through in putting words to paper considering the young victims of the crimes. I can assure readers that she didn’t get graphic or gross, but like the great filmmaker, Alfred Hitchcock, less is more because I used my imagination to fill in the rest and my emotions and feelings of sadness and shock were effectively affected. One of the earliest of scenes with the hero, Nate, was truly impressive. It was how Ms. Holly described him holding what he did in his hand and how she showed it affecting him that made it one of the most profound moments in the book. It was a turning point for the hero because from that moment on he was driven to succeed at something he wasn’t entirely sure of. It was his tenacity and his unwillingness to be placated or mollified that I respected. His is a strongly written character that I found vastly appealing and sexy.

The heroine, Evina, was refreshing. She’s not just a tiger in bed; she IS a tiger, and a firefighter. I’m tickled that the author thought of putting together that kind of combination for a woman. It’s not only sexy but unique, intriguing, and totally wonderful. She is strong, capable and excellent at her job. The one extra item of her personality that makes her such an amazing heroine is her being a mother. I did not find one misstep in how her character was portrayed. Even after two readings, it holds firm and true. Evina made one awesome heroine for Nate, the wolf cop.

And that is one of the major conflicts beside the evil, totally whacked and twisted villain; cats and dogs living together don’t necessarily cause mass hysteria but what it does do is create one heck of an interesting romance. It ends up being one of the most entertaining and fun relationships I’ve read about in quite some time. I mean, they had to overcome the general consensus against interspecies romances. The fact that she’s alpha of her people and he’s a frustrated man who somehow has ended up with alpha tendencies but is only third in command causes him no end of internal angst. At this point in his life it’s really getting to him that he has to be subservient to his alpha especially when his instincts are screaming that there’s more to the initial crime than his fellow cops are willing to entertain. In fact, that is another conflict because he loves his alpha who is also his boss – they’re like family and he’s an honorary uncle to the alpha’s daughter. There are so many personality twists and turns weaving among so many characters, it’s like having an inside track on an extended family. Each encounter that Nate has with the secondary characters acts like a window into the hero – and I liked what I saw.

This wouldn’t be a story by Ms. Holly if there weren’t some incredibly hot skin on skin action and this book delivered. Oh my! When Nate and Evina take turns being both dominate and submissive, it was hot stuff; the cuffs didn’t hurt either. One of my favorite lines that Nate says to Evina is this, “Women like you in underwear like that make life worth living”. What happens after that is sweat-worthy. ::fans self:: There’s plenty more great dialogue like that sprinkled like potent sugar throughout the novel and the scenes where they get together are well placed, descriptive, effective and integral to the advancement of their relationship. They made the story better.

The final few chapters where the villain and flunkies make their move is hard hitting. Mind games, magic, betrayal, fisticuffs, and ferocious growls and snapping jaws all keep those last pages flipping speedily because the action and revelations come fast and furious. This novel has an explosive ending where the bad guys get their comeuppance, boy do they ever, and to top all that excitement off, there’s a scene where a fireman does what they do best. I was a puddle of relieved stress when he came out of that building. What a hero. Granted, he’s an imperfect hero but still, there’s room for everyone in this book.

Hidden Crimes is one of Ms. Holly’s best books to date. It has every element that I look for in a paranormal suspense romance and it included every bit of what makes this author’s books memorable, popular and looked forward to. She didn’t miss a trick when she wrote this and I’m really impressed. The ending when Nate proposes is incredibly romantic and beautiful and it made my day. Hands down, this is a must read that should not be missed by anyone who is serious about romantic suspense with an erotic edge. You can bet that this book is on my keeper shelf and if you pick up your own copy, you’ll see why. It’s that awesome.

Second in the Hidden erotic paranormal romance. The couple focus is on Nate Rivera and Evina Mohajit and takes place in Resurrection, a supe-friendly metropolis in upper state New York.

My Take
I like Resurrection. It's such a homey place where people look out for each other, care for each other. As for the story, it's tense, dramatic, romantic and so very family-oriented. You can't help but love the characters in this story. It's Currier and Ives — with shifters and fae.
I just love this bit:
"Rafi greeted her with a baby's mewl, half asleep and somehow still smelling of little boy."
Holly does keep it fun: you don't Google in Resurrection, you Oogle; a Goblinati is a hot, pick-up car; Elf Barbies abound; and, no Cheerios, but Faerie-Os are available.

Nate's reasons for getting Evina's help are valid, so I don't get why Adam is so averse to her report. Nor do I understand why Evina gets so huffy that first time in the firehouse.

Oh, man, I just love listening to Nate plan how to revamp his loft to accommodate two kitten shifters!

It's a crazy series. Erotic, romantic, and very warm with family and friends.

The Story
It's a baby shower for Adam and Ariana's new baby girl, but hey, they're cops, and they can get called out at any time. When the call comes in that Vasili Galina has been spotted, the men are off and hunting, only to stumble over something horrific.

Later, it's a lucky Nate when Evina needs cupcakes for Rafi's school event the next morning. He needs someone to read a crime scene, and he's researched Evina. She has an ability that could help find out what happened to this child.

Unfortunately, as the case unravels, it seems that this small boy isn't the only victim…

The Characters
Nate Rivera may be a werewolf, but he's a metrosexual one with his sharply decorated loft apartment, his alligator boots, and his pleasure in the company of women. His one problem? He's got an alpha personality in a less-than-beta position at the Resurrection Police Department.

Evina Mohajit is the fire department's youngest-ever station chief, an alpha woman who happens to shift into a tiger and does a decent astral projection. If the cops are almost all werewolves, firefighters are almost all tigers. Abby is her six-year-old daughter; Rafi is her shy twin brother who takes refuge in his tiger form. Gran is her mother, Rita, a willing babysitter, but looking like no grandmother you can possibly imagine.

Lieutenant Adam Santini is Nate's boss and cousin-by-marriage, and he and his wife Ariana (see Hidden Talents , 1) have recently had a baby girl, Kelsey. Tony Lupone is a fellow RPD detective who's recently come out and younger brother to the pack's second-in-command, Rick; their parents are amazing cooks. Maria is their older sister married to Johnny — he works Special Tactics — with a little boy, Ethan. Carmine is a were-cop, older, more experienced, and Dana is their very susceptible dispatcher.

Christophe is/was Evina's beta at the station and currently in hospital after he saved two young kids. Liam is very protective, heck all the firefighters at Company No. 5 are protective of Evina. Freda is Evina's friend.

Max and Sarah are Ari's human friends from Hidden Talents . Grant is a young gargoyle who has taken Adam and his pack to heart. And lives on Adam's roof. Derrick Black is Rita's friend, a news producer at WQSN.

Vasili Galina is mobster Ivan Galina's younger brother. Until the brothers fell out over a woman, Ellen Owen. Hephaesta Erg is a goblin who worked as a nanny in charge of Joel Martin. His parents, Roger and Mrs. Martin, were ashamed of him. Wings of Love Placement Agency arranged adoptions. River Oaks Smoke Shop is a busy place where Blue and Brone, elves, are selling all sorts of things. Mr. White is the accommodating bank manager; Mrs. Norman the bank teller. Dr. Clarence Beaumont provides medical expertise.

Paul is the father of Evina's children, a beta tiger. They didn't marry, but still, when he chose to move on and marry the quarter-fae Liane, it hurt. Malik is their mixed-race child. Iseult Fionn is Liane's half-fae mother.

The Cover
The cover is surprisingly sedate with a man lounging back against some wooden slats, wearing dark dress pants and a dark pin-striped shirt with lavender satin sleeves(?), open to reveal a smooth expanse of abdominals.

The title is true enough as these Hidden Crimes are not the type you want to know about, as much as you will want to expose them.

While, again, there's a predictability and an almost unbelievable pairing in this story between Nate a werewolf and Evina a tigress, I enjoyed the story more than it's predecessor, "Hidden Talents". While cats and dogs don't usually mix, there is something more genuine about this strange pairing - more chemistry and more emotional bonding. The relationship seems to happen quickly, but we're also told that these two have been checking each other out at the grocery story for some time. Because of the whole cats-dogs thing, they've ignored one another, and Evina has twin cubs - she can't afford to go for a player like Nate.

Except Nate is looking for something more... and that is a family and a chance to settle down. Evina has a ready-made family, and she's already sown most of her wild oats. These two are really perfect for one another.

Not being familiar with a rivalry between cops and firemen, I'm not sure how accurate that is, but I can see it. So, beyond the cats-and-dogs thing, these two are overcoming a lot together to make this all work. And Nate is still fighting his Alpha tendencies... except Evina and the firemen in her "pack" also sense his Alpha-ness and simply accept it. In an almost old-fashioned way, Evina, an Alpha female, requires a male who is Alpha, too - Alpha enough to take her in hand. And I can respect that and relate to that, even though it seems improbable and contradictory; women are supposed to be independent and Super-Women, and yet, deep-down, we often want a man to take care of us, so that we can take care of everything else on our plates. We need to feel cherished and safe and protected. And that's the dynamic between Nate and Evina.

I have to admit, however, that as predictable as the story is in many ways, there was a twist at the end that I wasn't quite prepared for. And while it might have seemed like too little too late, there were clues; and the timing did precipitate an interesting end to the whole power-stealing dilemma.

Others from Nate's pack (Adam & Ali and his other mates) do make an appearance in this book, which is reassuring.

There are so many things I love about this book! Holly always manages to bring new perspectives to love stories. Her hero, Nate Rivera, is the epitome of cool alpha under pressure. As an alpha werewolf part of pack that already has an alpha he struggles to walk the thin line between dominance and assertiveness. A lonely bachelor with a taste for the finer things in life, Nate longs for a real relationship.

Holly's heroine Evina, is a Tiger Were alpha, running a fire department full of tiger males. A mother of twin fraternal tiger cubs from a previous relationship, Evina longs for a man who won't be intimidated by her confidence or her sexual appetite.

When the two meet sparks fly. Afraid of getting hurt and of bending social taboos, Nate & Evina share an awkward dance as the relationship develops. Each struggles to know when to lead and when to follow and the sex is super hot.

Their relationship evolves as they work together to solve a string of grisly murders and mysterious kidnappings around the city. Nate finds himself going rogue when his pack/police department wont follow his instincts. Evina feels compelled to help when her ex's son is kidnapped. Overall - the mystery is a little thin towards the middle and the ending is easily discerned. But these points do not detract from the love story or the character development.

Holly is to be commended for making single moms sexy and responsible. To often in today's literature, single moms & parents are non-existent, asexual or shrewish. Kudos to Holly for recognizing that parenthood is not the end of sex or longing for close relationships.

As I read this novel - I imagined the Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez playing the role of Nate Rivera and the former Miss World turned Bollywood sensation, Aishwarya Rai, as Evina. Tell me what you think. Who did you imagine in these roles?

I always forget just how good of a writer Emma Holly is and then I am middle of her book its two am and I completely entrenched
in the world and characters she has conjured.

The World: I love this world. I really perfer know paranormal worlds. I hate wasting time having people come to grips with a new
normal. This known world is wonderful. A urban city that is other friendly with certain types tending towards certain jobs. Our tiger
shifter heroine is a firefighter as is all her crew. Our wolf shifter hero is a cop. The group dynamics are good.

Our heroine: Kick ass Alpha Tiger Shifter with twin 6 year olds from a previous relationship and cool astral projection skills.

Our Hero: A very hot and handsome wolf shifter cop who has not been a one woman man up until now.

There is a really icky crime they are working to solve together. Childern are in jeopardy so beware. The romantic suspense is very
 well done and compelling.

Erotica: Holly writes great blistering erotica level sex in character. It is not vanilla but it feels really so it stays in the romance realm
in this book.

The Love Story: Arises out the leads pasts and personality and is believable and lovely.

Secondaries: The twin tiger shifter 6 years olds are a blast. There are many other characters that are worthy as well. If you have
been reading the series, you will enjoy see familiar faces. You don't have to have read the other books to enjoy!

So, on my female cat shifter kick this was a great stop.

My Review:
This book was so good! I'll admit I love a good shifter book and this was definitely one of the better ones that I have ever read. I haven't read the other two books in this series, but I like this little world that Emma Holly has created in Resurrection. I definitely want to revisit it.

But at the heart of this story is Nate and Evina. Nate is the 3rd in command of his wolf pack and is a police detective. Evina is the Tiger alpha and in charge of her fire station. Be still my heart....gah, I love first responders and love how Emma Holly made this such a natural thing for her shifters. Seriously....LOVE!

BUT dogs and cats should not mix... LOVE again! I loved how everything about these two together just worked when everyone around them was telling them that it wouldn't. They were so awesome...and did I mention HOT??....together.

The shifters were great. The characters were fabulous. The story was intriguing. The suspense line was riveting. I loved the addition of Evina's twins and how Nate is such a natural with kids. I even liked the bit that Evina's ex, Paul, adds to the story. I loved everything about this one. I definitely need to read more from this series.

Interesting plot.

Nate :
description

Evina :

description

Could have been really good if ..

1. it had less sex scenes- They were supposed to be enemies & i understand they were attracted to each other and all, but i wished i didn't have to read them going at it everytime they met.

description

I was more interested in the mystery which the author pulls us into..

2. there were more interactions shown between Nate and the Cubs..

description

3. The end was different. i felt it was a bit anticlimatic .

worth a read though. Ratings - 3.5 stars

Should Cats and dogs fall in love? If you read Hidden Crimes you will know the answer is 100% yes.
Nate is a rough and tough wolf who is trying hard to except his place in life and in his pack. But soon he will learn that sometime a challenge is just what a wolf needs. Whether it be in the form of a feisty female Alpha Tiger or his own Alpha, Nate is about to learn just how important he really is.
Evina, is the Alpha of her clan. So she has to be tough and being a single mom makes her more then tough. But she has always had a soft spot for the man she calls the Holy Foods Romeo. So when she sees Nate looking a little down curiosity gets the best of this cat.

Both Nate & Evina will learn that sometimes playing nice will get you everything that you want.

This was a great story. Emma Holly writes really good romance novels. If you have not had the pleasure of reading one of Emma’s books I would very highly recommend you get on it.

Just finished and enjoyed this one. The hero is hot with a strong heroine. Both likable characters that you find yourself caring about. I liked that she dominated him at times and one of those scenes was smokin' hot. You can always count on hot love scenes with Emma Holly.

The world that Emma Holly has built around her characters in this series is interesting and unique. The plot was plausible and interesting. I'm giving it 4 stars because it is a good book and I highly recommend it to romance readers. Emma Holly is one of my favorite authors. But, as you can probably tell it just didn't make me want to rave about it. I don't know why. I still prefer her Fitz Clare books and Demon's Fire over the newest Hidden series. Hoping the next one will really grab me and I can rave about it.

I was given this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book, been waiting so long to read and well worth the wait. The characters are so sexy, especially the sexy werewolf Nate. The plot already brings you in with the first sentence that cats and dogs arent suppose to fall in love, you know how they say that opposites attract well it seems that for Nate and Evina its true. I love Evina, she a strong women thats not afraid to be tough and in charge and Nate is the perfect match for her in every way. I really enjoyed the story of how they fall for each other, and if you love sexy werewolves and tigresses, with sexy romance and some suspense then you will love this book also.
I gave this book five stars because I loved this book and especially Nate :) who made this book one my favorite reads.

Emma Holly has done it again! We return to the hunky werewolves of RPD we met in Hidden Talents. This time playboy Nate Rivera is caught by alpha tiger Evina Mohajit from the RFD in a mystery that is replete with Ms. Holly’s trademark scorching hot sex scenes.
Nate flirts with the curvy firefighter at the local meat market but she is a cat and cats and dogs don’t mix. Evina has a skill that Nate needs to find out who killed a child and why. He conscripts her aid and they find themselves getting pulled deeper into the mystery of who is killing shifter kids and why. As they do they find that maybe cats and dogs can fall in love.

This one took me a bit to get into, but once I did, it was good! I thought it was cute that Evina and Nate were so attracted to each other, but neither really did anything because he's a dog and she's a tiger. Turns out they're mates, even though they're not the same were animal. And they're both alphas, even though Nate isn't alpha of his pack. I liked the friendly rapport Evina and Jake had before they gave in to their attraction. I liked that Nate trusted in Evina's ability to project her animal and find more about something he just knew was wrong. I liked that they supported each other's strengths and became "more" as a couple. It was a cute story with a nice mystery that was solved.

Number 2 in the Resurrection series. I was happy this story was about Nate. Really liked him in the 1st book. He finds it difficult to believe he is not the Alpha or Beta of his pack, and doesn't always follow orders. He falls for a beautiful weretiger who is the alpha of her pack and a firefighter. This is also a mystery and a love story, though I did guess the villian. The ending was very exciting and I could not imagine how the author was going to get them out of the dilemma, but she did it quite brilliantly!! This had a really good happy ending and I can't wait to find more about the werewolves.

The relationship between h and h was very believable which I noticed in the first of the series. Even though it was full on I never felt that it was rushed or forced for the sake of the book. Sadly I felt the rift between the leads alpha and himself was alittle forced and the story could have been done without that being necessary. Over all I really enjoyed this world and the characters in it. I have been waiting for this book for a few years. I first and fourth book in this series are definitely my favorites.

Loved it! It's been a while since I read an Emma Holly book. I forgot how much I loved her writing style. Characters were great--I loved catching up with the characters from the previous book. What sets this apart for me was the fact that the h--Elvina is soooooo alpha--even more than the H--Nate. Normally this would turn me off of the book--I prefer the H's over the top, but the author doesn't in a way that still makes Nate the strong, possessive alpha male I love in my books. Steamy scenes, good plot with the right amount of drama. Would recommend.

Nate & Evina - a wolf and tiger shifter. Their dynamic is interesting, and cute and kinky. This is a fun story.

I bought this one from All Romance Ebooks.

Sweet love story, super hot sexy times, good mystery = a great read. Enjoyed this one the most of the series.

Funny typo: "Wow,” she said, enjoying her eyeful of his anatomy manual chest." p70.
I wonder what that was supposed to say - maybe "eyeful of his manly chest"?

I don't know if it was because it was 3rd in the series or if maybe I just found a book I didn't particularly enjoy. It was chosen by my book club and I finished it but it just didn't do anything for me.

I couldn't connect with any of the characters and everything very fast paced. It was hollow and I wasn't a fan.

I read A LOT of paranormal shape-shifter type books and this one was right up there with some of my favorites. Very good mystery/romance story line. After reading this book I definately have a book crush on Nate. Lots of hot crazy sex but there was for sure way more to this book than just sex. I will definately be looking for more of Emma Holly's books in the future!
