Meena- by A. Simon De silva———- officially this is the very first sinhala novel published in Sri Lanka on 1905. *amazing novel*___’Meena’ is a novel about friendship, romance, betrayal and trust. It is clear that the author’s purpose is to show how to respect woman and identify real fake people who comes in to our lives. The heroine of this story is a young beautiful girl called ‘Meena’. Her father is a village’s secret casino owner. One day during a fight happens inside the casino, meena gets kidnapped by gang of thieves, But she was able to escape into the jungle with help of another man called Danny who came for thieves support. He madly and instantly fell for ‘Meena’s beauty but never truly love her. He forced her to give him a promise to marry him. While walking in the jungle to escape, they meets an old man who’s living with his survived son in a cave. She started fall for the personality of this old man’s son, but she kept it to herself because she have already promised in hand of marriage with Danny. After series of incidents, Danny got injured and then brought into a village nearby with the help of old man’s son. There Danny reunites with his old friend, a doctor. In order to make him forget about ‘meena’ whos from a lower cast poor family, the doctor friend introduces him for alcohol and prostitution. Danny slowly forgets about meena.
