She went to Futaba-Kōtō Academy in Suwa, Nagano Perfecture. Her first published manga as a profesional manga-ka was the short story Puchi Neko Jamu Jamu in Nakayoshi Manga Magazine in 1982. The magazine is a part of Kodansha Publishing, in which she published her works ever since her first debut.

Another Master Cocchi adventure! This time Cocchi even makes the suggestion first and it shows how Chi and Cocchi grow closer together as they venture outside. I want Chi's family to adopt Cocchi 'cause his past is so sad and I want him to finally find a family that won't abandon him.
Cocchi and Chi met a dog which was quite funny. The usual tree dilemma happened too, but thankful they managed to jump of the tree themselves without needing any help.
Another thing that happened in this volume was that Chi met a frog for the first time. Only covered one chapter but was still fairly enjoyable.

Es geht wieder aufwärts mit der Reihe. Dieser Band hat mir wesentlich besser gefallen als die letzten 3-4, die Abenteuer waren witzig und realistisch und die Zeichnungen einfach echt putzig.

This is the eighth volume in the Chi’s Sweet Home series. Right now there are ten volumes in this series. If you have enjoyed the previous books I think you will enjoy this one as well. It is full of kitty humor and cuteness just like all of the previous books have been.
When Chi sees Yohey playing with his friends she decides to go out and track the the other kitten friend she has, Cocchi. Chi and Cocchi get into lots of trouble in this book. Chi finds out first hand how cats always land on their feet and Cocchi introduces Chi into making trouble in a shed. Chi’s adventures outside lead her to develop conjunctivitis which introduces Chi to the beloved Elizabethan Collar (wow do cats ever love those…).
I am going to be honest and say that while I still enjoy these books they are starting to loose some novelty for me. They have been somewhat less funny as Chi grows up and has to deal with real world issues (at least for a cat). Some of that might be because I have read them all back to back in a fairly short period of time. My seven year old son however, still adores these books and loves reading them a lot.
There are still some very funny things that happen in this book and I still really enjoy the lovely pastel illustrations. Chi is cute and I love watching her and Cocchi getting into trouble around the neighborhood. We see a lot less of her interaction with the Yamada family in this book and I kind of missed that.
It is kind of nice watching how both Chi and Yohey have changed as they get older.
Overall this was an entertaining installment in this series. I continue to enjoy Chi and her antics, although I found this book to be less funny than previous ones. My seven year old son still adores this series. I would recommend this manga series to those who enjoy cats and humor.

A nice balance of humor, mischief, and drama in this volume. Chi and her friend Cocchi's daily playdate schedule has settled into a routine and during one day of exploring both cats create a ruckus in a shed and are discovered by the owner.
Unfortunately, Chi becomes trapped in the shed and once she finally frees herself she develops an eye infection and has to wear a dreaded Elizabethan collar to ensure that it properly heals.
A funny all ages series that will be especially appreciated by pet lovers.

Le bajo algo la nota, porqué a pesar de seguir pareciéndome un manga delicioso y fundamental para los amantes del mundo felino,en éste volumen más que historietas cortas y algunas de ellas encadenadas, se reduce a una larga historieta fragmentada de las correrías de Chi por las calle junto a Kocchi ( un gatito callejero de su misma edad, que ya salió anteriormente hace varios tomos).
Además, el gato negro pierde protagonismo en pro del nuevo compi pequeño de chi...lo sé, es muy subjetivo todo, pero quería coemntarlo.
Mi pregunta es ¿para cuando un spin off del gato negro?

In Chi's Sweet Home, Volume 8 we are treated to more adorable kitten antics. We see less of the Yamada family, but more of Chi and Cocchi getting into mischief, fun and all too amusing situations - including scaring themselves silly, the "dangers" of dogs, heights and "bouncing", and "secret bases". Chi also experiences her first cone or "Elizabethan Collar" and the trials of dealing with it on, which were both amusing and accurate. I always enjoy seeing what sort of mischief and adventures Chi (and friends) get into when I need a dose of cute, and Chi never disappoints.

As Chi gets older, she also starts learning more about herself. Chi doesn’t think of herself as a cat because all she knows and remembers is the Yamada family, but the more time she spends with other cats and Cocchi the more she learns about what she can do! She learns she can twist and turn and land on her feet from up high and she can do other things too.
This volume was great for watching Chi grow and making new friends.

Haha, I love this cover, oh you're naughty naughty kitten, Chii 💕
It seems English scans only available till vol 6 because it's licensed or what I dunno, but because I couldn't get enough of it, I searched the Chinese scans and read the rest in Chinese, but still, if I can read it in English, it'd be better.
I found the English edition, in omnibus (newest edition), total 4 volumes (maybe 3 volumes in one omnibus), immediately put them in my wishlist to buy.

Another good volume. More adventures between Chi and Cocchi, which age very cute. Cocchi encouraging her to jump because she’s a cat and her having an existential crisis over being a cat was probably my fav part.
I have to say, though, my one gripe is that her humans for never seeming to notice she’s gone or missing until the whole day is done. I know some cats do spend their days outside and come back but… she’s clearly a kitten so I don’t know how realistic it is that they’d just be fine with her taking off (or not even making sure she’s in the house earlier).
This is the 2nd volume in a row where they’ve not paid attention to where she went and she ended up at the vet. 🙃

Chi is so funny and full of life! All she wants to do is play with Honey and Cocchi. I think its funny that she doesn't see herself as a cat. I guess our cats or even dogs don't really view themselves as their own species since we treat them as family.
I'm glad that Chi and Cocchi get to play regularly and have adventures. Although, this past one in the old man's shed could have ended up differently (so terrifying!).
I hope the Yamadas adopt Cocchi too. I also want Chi to be reunited with her cat mommy! I hope it happens.

Das ist Band 08 von der "Kleine Katze Chi" Reihe von Konami Kanata
Was ich ja ganz süß finde ist das man am Anfang des Mangas immer etwas basteln kann, für Kinder die die Print Version lesen ein super Extra. Es ist entweder ein Puzzel oder ein Origami. Ein Lesezeichen war auch schon dabei.
Ich liebe es so sehr wie er mit Cocchi die Welt entdeckt und spielt. Er hat in ihm einen Freund fürs Leben gefunden. Es ist wirklich schön zu sehen. Auch lernen sie gemeinsam, das nicht alle Menschen gut sind. Und Chi wird krank.

It's kinda shameful that it's taken me 2.5 weeks to finish this. I guess my enthusiasm for the series is flagging majorly. Things went downhill for me after Chi started to explore her neighbourhood more and left her adventures with family behind. Still, I did read 100 pages today and there's only two volumes left in the series. I shall prevail...

Quel plaisir de retrouver Chi, cette petite femelle si adorable et attachante si longtemps après ne plus avoir lu cette saga. (Pourquoi ? Même moi je l'ignore.) Les planches et les dialogues toujours aussi drôles, mignons et d'une simplicité adorable !

Ich mag den Zeichenstil und das Bunte, aber der Erzählstil gefällt mir auch in Band 8 nicht. Liegt evtl auch daran das ich eher ein Hundemensch als ein Katzenmensch bin?
