Firefighter, Dave Briar, is devastated when he finds his high school sweetheart, Maya, in bed with his best friend, Craig. He is able to forgive his friend when he beats the drug addiction that led to their betrayal, but even after a decade, he can’t seem to forgive or forget the girl who broke his heart.

Maya has lived with the guilt of betraying Dave for ten years, but when Craig contacts her to tell her the truth about what happened that night, she learns that life may be giving her a second chance with her first love. Determined to seize the opportunity, Maya decides to ‘bid’ on Dave at a bachelor auction.

In full costume and mask, Dave has no idea it’s Maya until he winds up in her bed, blindfolded. How will he react when she reveals the truth?

I have always been passionate about books, but it wasn't until several years ago that I decided to quit my day job to follow my bliss. Since then I have written eight book under two pen names, all have the requisite HEA endings, but some are just a little naughtier than others.

I'm obsessed with writing. In fact, being handcuffed to my keyboard sounds like fun. Did I mention the fact that I write erotic romance? Enough said. When I do take a break, it's to spend time with the two, that's right, two men in my life... my husband and son.

This was a book that I received free on Kindle. I thought it was going to be another quick read about two people with a little history and hooking up for one hot night. Again I was so wrong. I was really surprised by this book because of the story line. Dave and Maya were highschool sweethearts and planned one going to college and spending the rest of their lives together. One night of passion between Maya and Craig (Dane's best friend) changes everythig. Now ten years later Maya is at a charity auction trying to win Dane for the night and to see if they still have that connection. I really enjoyed this story. I found my self of course rooting for Dane and really liked the chemistry they shared. My only complaint is that I felt like the book just eneded. I would have loved another chapter or even an epiloge especially since I felt Dane really never got the closure he deserved from the incident. I discovered at the end of the story that Ms. Carson will be releasing Craig's story in 2013 so hopefully we will get more of Maya and Dane's story in that book as well. I really recommend this story. It's a quick, fun read with depth and history that makes you want to read more.

I liked this kindle freebie. It would have got a better rating if there was a epilogue. It ends rather abruptly.

The feelings in the book were so raw for the events prior happening years in the past. I do not think that Dave ever really forgave Craig, but had already let his love for Maya go and couldn't loose his best friend as well.

Maya eludes that she was tricked by Craig to sleep with him when she was drunk. That she though it was Dave. But refuses to tell this to Dave to save his friendship with Craig. What a mess.

I think there was no epilogue because this way its believable they had good intentions at making the HEA but reality is there is no way Dave will ever get past it.

Craig's story is next. I almost want to read it to see if there is any mention to Maya and Dave. But Craig in the present wasn't even in the story as they were getting back together. So its hard to tell if the author will give up what Dave and Maya's status is.

WOW, this book was STEAMY, and oh so very hot!! It was a quick read for me but it was still filled with emotion, and mostly passion! Cher Carson did a fantastic job weaving this romance together and I am going to read the next one too!

I actually didn't finish this one. I don't know, I just really didn't like this guy at all. And honestly I didn't like the girl either. Or the best friend. Or the new boyfriend. Or the constant back and forth. Halfway through I didn't care whether they ended up together.

It didn't feel complete but the novel was good. Since Craig story is next, I hope Dave can finally find out the truth.
