This short commentary on Revelation challenged me deeply. it challenged me to hope for what seems impossible, to stand against the forces of darkness that seem to have endless reach, and to believe that the church will persevere because Jesus is on the throne.

One thing Allan Boesak excels at is showing how the Scriptures are written so often in a minor chord, and those who are rich, powerful, and secure will find its words rather strange. The oppressed though, the poor and exploited, they understand the Bible. They can hear its tune, and so they sing along with it.

Boesak writes from the apartheid perspective, he quotes that if you not endure the real persecution, you can’t understand completely the book of Revelation. Great book to see the big picture of Revelation and its purposes, which bring as its own title: Comfort and Protest.
Recommend this book, providing a good contextual background, taking off all the decoding stuff made around the pictures, and giving to the Christian a path to be in an active position for the kingdom of God.
