This is an abridged version of Cranfield's magisterial commentary on Romans for the International Critical Commentary series. This shorter version preserves the same standard of scholarship and has been appreciated by both students and ministers.
This is a wholly readable commentary on the Book of Romans. It is a thorough exposition of the epistle that should be next to John Calvin, John Murray and Douglas Moo. It will stimulate additional thought and consideration even when it provokes disagreement in such passages as Romans 7:7-25 and especially Romans 9 which takes a more Barthian hue. His translation is carefully done.
