The Joseph Smith Papers, comprising dozens of volumes when complete, will be the largest, most authoritative published collection of Joseph Smith documents anywhere. Although broad in scope, the Papers project has a relatively simple to make available essential sources for the study of early Mormon history and of Joseph Smith—the church president and prophet, the city builder, the civic and military leader, the husband and father. Volume 2 contains six segments of Joseph Smith's Journal. 1832-1836; Missouri 1938; and Illinois 1939, 1841-42.
I love to read about Joseph Smith. This book to me though doesn't carry the spirit with it yet. I just reads like a history book. I am just starting to read his journals and I am sure that will change.
