Featuring spreads each with raised shaped objects that fit into scooped cutouts on their opposite page, these two new TouchThinkLearn books offer the youngest learners an irresistible opportunity to explore their universe in a hands-on, multisensory way. Seeing the image, tracing its shape, saying its these modes of perception combine in a dynamic way to stimulate understanding of essential concepts. Discover—and experience—a pig by tracing its raised outline on one side and the concave form of the mud puddle it wallows in on the other. Clusters of related words on each spread offer parents and children a springboard for further conversations to encourage the language skills so crucial to later successful learning. In a format unlike any other, these groundbreaking books translate abstract thought into tangible knowledge.

Vanaf 2 jaar
As a teacher, I think this book is just fabulous! It can be used for a variety of ages because there are word clusters that the reader can use to form into different words.
As a mom I love how tactile it is so my baby was entertained the whole time. I also love the great vocabulary words!
A cut out book where each page has a lifted off image and the next one has a cut out to fit it featuring animals on the farm and words associated with that animal. toddler and up
My toddler picked this book out at the library and she's a BIG fan. She has asked to read it at naptime and/or bedtime almost every day since we checked it out. It really is a cool book. Each page pictures a raised image and a concave space on the opposite page, so she can touch it and trace the images with her fingers. There isn't a story, just a handful of words on each page (a few nouns and a couple of related verbs). The idea is that you can use the words as a springboard for conversation about the pictures. Highly recommended for babies!
Especially appealing for those who learn best through tactile experiences, this board book features farm animals that are commonly found in rural areas. Because the left-hand page of each double-page spread contains raised images that match the scooped out places on the facing pages, readers have a chance to touch the animals and learn what they are. There are also words related to the noun on the other page. It's fun to learn about a wider world around us through the book's images.
The illustrations, and format of the book encourage a unique visual for working on size perceptions. I would like to see this in a picture book size! The only thing that I would enlarge the size of the font; so, it would be easier to see for reading to large size groups, or for those who are working on their reading skills. This is not an early reader, but the vocabulary would benefit ESL students.
