Such a short little listen I almost forgot to add it to my list but after a hard day I thought of it again & listened through for a second time. Very soothing reminder. I loved the simplicity & focus of his short introduction -- really more of a reminder -- to five meditations. I found just listening to it very grounding.
Provides an introduction into a few different methods of meditation. I listened to it - distracted by other activities. But it's worth saving and using to find a starting place for my own meditation practice. It seems most useful to beginners.
Different types of meditations are there to create different results. I listen to this while cleaning the house like a study aid into meditation. I will work on being still later today.
I've read many books on meditation and while this was sufficient, there are many others that are far better. The author does a good job explaining fundamentals of the meditations (five of them) he offers, but many times I found myself wishing he had included more information. For example, in his teaching on the mantra om mani padme hum, I wished he would discuss what those words or vowels mean. Because I've read many books and taken refuge, I know there is no one literal translation, but there are lose meanings you can associate, which I think he could have provided to make the experience richer.
I have never been into meditation, so I thought that I would give this one a try. While I did appreciate the basic overview, I would have liked a bit more of the reasoning why someone should try it. However, I felt like I was just being told to try it, without justification.
