"Demize", a sophisticated computer virus contains a set of Chinese Boxes, each diminishing the false hopes that society will discover its secrets. Demize, a sophisticated computer virus compromises the security of the Internet and all e-commerce transactions by producing millions of fictitious Web transactions. It begins to attack all computers and financial systems, quickly closing down the world's banks, shops and offices. Demize then creates false demand across all electrical grids, causing massive power surges and widespread blackouts, resulting in the shutdown of electrical services. Third-world diseases begin to appear in all major cities because of a lack of (clean) water and overflowing sewage systems. The people of the world start dying by the million, their leaders powerless to prevent large-scale looting, rioting, panic and devastation. The world is suddenly without food, water, electricity, fuel and medical supplies and millions evacuate large metropolitan areas, looking to country areas for their survival. One such group is the Rebel Angels Motorbike Club. After stealing a petrol tanker, the 30 club members travel north on their Electra Glide, Harley Davidson Motorbikes, looking for a place to stay that has food, water and accommodation for their large group. The story focuses on the struggle for survival of the Glenford family on the Mid North Coast of Australia, who because of their isolated forest location, have food and water in abundance. Their struggle for survival is typical of millions of other small family units as the world tries to come to grips with the new order.
