Daniel X is not an ordinary human teenager. He is a highly intelligent alien with superior strength and speed. He has the ability to create and transform objects, teleport himself from one place to another and travel through time.

Daniel is also an alien hunter, following in his parents' footsteps. He goes after alien criminals on Earth found on The List of Alien Outlaws on Terra Firma. He ultimately wants to kill No. 1, also called The Prayer. The Prayer is the alien who murdered his parents and burned their house to the ground when Daniel was a toddler. Dana, Emma, Willy and Joe are Daniel's childhood friends, who were all killed during an alien invasion on his home planet of Alpar Nok. He is able to bring them and others to life from his imagination, and they help him in his quest. Daniel also has the ability to create and manipulate the atomic structure of things around him.

After intercepting a message between No. 7 and No. 8 on The List, Daniel heads to Tokyo to find both. This alien couple, disguised as humans Colin and Ellie Gygax, are founders and owners of the Game Consortium (GC), the largest video-game corporation in the world. In the message, No. 7 and No. 8 discuss hunting and killing the last members of two alien species, killing Daniel and then eradicating the human species.

At the GC, Daniel sees hundreds of teens mindlessly playing violent video games. He sneaks into the back of the store, where he finds a theater filled with more brainwashed teens beta testing a new level of a popular video game. On the theater's stage are mannequins dressed like police officers and others dressed like thugs and monsters. On command, the teens grab weapons, charge the stage and destroy only the police officer mannequins. After the assault, the brainwashed players collapse on the floor. With millions of GC games and consoles in the world, Daniel realizes that the company can flick a switch and turn any player into an armed killer.

To learn more about the aliens' plans, Daniel masquerades as a window washer for a building across from the GC tower and spies on the penthouse where No. 7 and No. 8 live. To Daniel's surprise, The Prayer arrives at the penthouse and chastises the couple for hunting other alien species when the alien he really wants killed is Daniel. After ordering them to have Daniel killed within two days, The Prayer says he has put a dampening field over the planet to prevent time travel. This will keep Daniel from using his time-travel powers to escape. The Prayer also tells them that a Pleionid, the only one left of a genius, telepathic species, has landed on Earth and must be killed before it contacts Daniel. On a computer in the penthouse, Daniel notices schematics of antennas located at the Tokyo Tower.

After The Prayer leaves, Daniel is surprised to see a teenage boy, Kildare Gygax, enter the penthouse. He is No. 7 and No. 8's son, but they are not happy with Kildare's unwillingness to hunt creatures to extinction. They tell Kildare that he will lead the hunt for the Pleionid, not knowing that he has been sheltering and feeding the alien since it came to Earth.

The next day, Daniel visits Kildare's school and befriends him. Daniel is surprised that Kildare does not fight back against kids who are bullying him. Daniel realizes that Kildare refuses to use his alien abilities on humans.

When Daniel returns to his hotel that evening, his father ambushes him to demonstrate how Daniel is unprepared for this mission. Because the exhausted Daniel fails his fathers' training tests, his father asks him leave Japan. Daniel refuses to quit, but he knows he needs to be better prepared.

Daniel returns to the GC Tower, turns himself into a fly and sneaks into a meeting with No. 7, No. 8 and their alien henchmen. After following one of the hunters from the GC Tower, and then not as a fly, stealing his tracking device, Daniel summons his friends, and they access information from the tracker about the Pleionid and the hunt.

Daniel's friends beg him to call off the mission, but he waves them out of existence and heads to the school to find Kildare. Kildare is in the science lab, studying ants in a glass terrarium. He explains that ants use pheromones to lay down scents and other chemical markers that affect each other's behavior.

When Kildare leaves school, Daniel follows him onto a train and sees Kildare teleport himself off when they pass some fields. Daniel also teleports himself off the train and finds Kildare talking to the Pleionid, who is disguised as moss. Daniel turns himself into a butterfly to eavesdrop on their conversation and hears Kildare beg the Pleionid to leave the planet before the hunt starts, but the Pleionid says he must speak with Daniel. Daniel turns back into himself, but the Pleionid challenges Daniel to catch him to prove that he really is the alien hunter.

Daniel runs after the Pleionid, but he is not alone since the hunt has already begun. He follows the Pleionid to a 400-foot statue of Buddha in the Japanese town of Ushiku. At the top of the statue, the alien takes Daniel's hand and telepathically shows him how his species changes shape, makes themselves invisible and shares thoughts by touch. It also gives Daniel its abilities right before a hunter appears and tries to eat the Pleionid.

Daniel tries to save the Pleionid, but the alien tells Daniel that the world needs him so Daniel can't sacrifice himself. The creature does not put up a fight as it is eaten whole by one of the hunters. Daniel is upset, but he uses his newfound Pleionid knowledge to change himself into a pool of invisible flesh and escape the hunters.

The next day, Daniel heads to school to find Kildare, but runs into him on the street instead. Kildare tells Daniel that his father has forbidden him to attend school. As the teens eat pizza and walk around the park, Kildare and Daniel agree to start being honest with each other. Daniel tells Kildare that the hunters killed the Pleionid. Kildare tells Daniel that he knows his parents must be stopped, and he asks for a day to figure how to do it — he hopes to stop them without resorting to killing them. Kildare begins to tell Daniel that the ocean may help stop his parents, but before the teens can come up with a plan, No. 7 and No. 8 approach them in the park.

The couple reveals to Daniel that they knew he was spying on them. They are not simply individual aliens but colonial beings composed of billions of intelligent particles that can combine and take any shape they wish. To demonstrate, No. 7 and No. 8 hold hands and change their form into a massive cloudlike creature, which descends on a nearby palm tree and consumes it completely.

Daniel is shocked at the implications. This means No. 7 and No. 8 are shape shifters who are immune to projectiles. They can disperse and reassemble themselves at any time. The couple leaves, but they send their henchmen to bring the boys back to the GC Tower.

Inside the GC Tower, the henchmen start shooting at Daniel. Kildare begs his parents not to kill Daniel, telling them that Daniel had agreed to not hurt them. No. 7 and No. 8 disregard their son and shoot at Daniel with concentrated acid. Daniel barely escapes the burning liquid. In an attempt to help Daniel escape, Kildare produces a panic pheromone that causes his parents to disperse into gray clouds.

As the boys try to flee the building, No. 7 and No. 8 join together to form one giant cloud that swallows Kildare. Daniel is angry and demands that Kildare be released, but the cloud begins to envelop him. Daniel feels an overwhelming amount of pain, frustration and helplessness because he has no idea how to stop No. 7 and No. 8. When the cloud burns him badly on the leg, he passes out.

Daniel wakes up inside the head of the giant statue of Buddha. He had teleported himself out of the GC Tower right before he would have been killed. The hunters have caught up with him, so he teleports back to Tokyo. Daniel realizes that the Pleionid has given his body the ability to heal, and with renewed strength, he figures out a way to elude the hunters.

Realizing that No. 7 and No. 8 are using a relay transmitter on top of the Tokyo Tower to direct the hunters to find him, Daniel enters new coordinates to throw them off.

After he heads back to Kildare's school and feeds the teen's ant colony, Daniel notices a piece of paper buried in the sand. The paper is filled with organic chemistry formulas Kildare had been working on. Daniel is confused by most of them, but he notices that salt and water are integral to the formulas.

Daniel takes textbooks to the beach and starts studying chemistry. Before long, No. 7 and No. 8 (in the form of an enormous Godzilla-like reptile) emerges from the ocean. Daniel materializes the principal reactors from Kildare's formula and throws them in the waves. When mixed with salt water, Kildare's formula produces a gas, which interrupts the communication between all the intelligent cells in the bodies of No. 7 and No. 8. The aliens fall apart in front of Daniel, but he feels no joy in the victory, as Kildare is nowhere to be found.

Daniel had hoped that since Kildare created the formula, he would have fortified himself so he was immune to it. As Daniel sits on the beach mourning the loss of his only nonimaginary friend, Kildare appears. Yet Daniel's joy is short lived, since Kildare is dying. The young of his species can't survive on their own before they reach maturity; he needed his parents to live. Kildare collapses into black goo at Daniel's feet, just as his parents did earlier.

Daniel cries on the beach, not only over the loss of his friend, but for the loss of all the people he has cared about. After a while, he pulls himself together, grabs a handful of blackened sand and leaves the beach.

This was super average. Partly because I still didn't really listen, partly because I just didn't care, but I am finishing this series and then getting rid of it this year. I just need to finally read them because otherwise I'll never know. And Patterson was my favourite author when I was younger.

Honestly, in this one I don't even know what happened apart from the fact that and then XD And something about Number One. That's all I remember from that book. Can't wait for this series to be over.

The author of this amazing book is James Patterson. The books name is Daniel X game over. This is one of the Daniel X books in the series. There are 5 books in the series. All these books are about a boy named Daniel who chases bad aliens for a living. I would say this is an action and adventure book. It was published in September 2011 by Young Arrow. This book will cost you $12-$15.
Daniel is from another planet and he was sent here to fight horrific aliens that usually want to take over the world. He is a very interesting person because his parents were murdered when he was 3 years old by the number one worst alien on earth. Ever since then he has raised himself and has been chasing down aliens on earth and learning how to use his powers. He is very smart and can do things you can’t even imagine. This book sounds pretty good because it was written by James Paterson who has been writing since 1976. He has written many extremely good books, in fact he has written too many to count.
As I said before this book is about a young teen age boy that has been set out in the world to fight aliens. Lucky for him he can use his powers. Basically he can create anything from thin air by using his mind. Also he can change his appearance from a boy to a fly or any other object. But he is still learning and has many tricks up his sleeve. So in the book he finds two aliens that are very rich and evil. They really aren’t humans but they disguise themselves as humans. They are the ones behind the making all those video games. When all the kids are addicted to the games the aliens come up with a cruel plan to brain wash all these kids. Then once they have them brain washed they want to turn them into crude killing machines that massacre the world. Pretty crazy right! Well Daniel is the one who has to go and take them down, but how!
I liked this book a lot because I thought it connected to a lot of teenager’s lives. Teens just want to play video games all day. Next, I also think that it would be the coolest thing in the world to be able to create anything I wanted whenever I needed it. Oh yah and I forgot that with that power he could even create humans. In the book he created or recreated his mom, dad, and all of his friends. Now that’s pretty amazing. Second, my favorite character was Daniel just because he used his powers in such a cool way that he could do anything. The book will give you a great excitement to keep reading and never set it down. Third, it was very interesting to read and always kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what will happen next. Lastly, I think that James Patterson had a moral to the story. The moral was that no matter what happens to you just keep moving forward.

Daniel X, Game Over is the fourth book in the Daniel X series. It is about an alien boy named Daniel X who has the power to create things with his mind. When the number 1 alien on ‘The List’- a super high tech list of the most dangerous aliens on Earth- murders Daniel’s parents when he is only 3 he becomes an alien hunter. With the help of his friends and family that he creates with his mind he takes on Number 7 and 8 the tag team. Soon he finds Number 1 his parent’s murder may be involved in the video game company run by aliens taking over the earth with brainwashing powers.
I loved this book even more than I loved the other books in the series. It is action packed and kept the pages turning and the story rolling. It was quick-paced and was a very easy read that is very enjoyable. I have enjoyed this entire series and in my opinion this book has been the best in the series so far.
I recommend this book mostly to a teen/young adult audience because it’s main character is a teen so they can relate. Also the action and comedy in the book seems to be written for a younger audience. But even if you aren’t a young adult this book will still probably be enjoyable because it is so well written.

Absolutely atrocious rubbish book from Patterson Inc that was in equal parts non-sensical and uninteresting. I think I said there couldn't be a worse series than his Maximum Ride books and then I read the Witch and Wizard books, and that was the bottom of the barrel, well we just dug a new hole in the barrel.

Great book! There's probably another book after this because it was written so recently (2011.) Besides, the series hasn't reached the most anticipated point yet. :)

I liked this book and it’s incorporation of the video games. The setting was great being in Japan’s and suited the theme of games throughout the story. I liked how the romance between Dana and Daniel keeps eventuating too. I was shocked that Daniel wanted to align with his enemies to try and conquer some of his other enemies. Will continue to see where the story goes

In the fourth installment in the Daniel X series, Daniel is faced with an unbelievable task. Both Number 7 and Number 8 on the List of Alien Outlaws on Terra Firma, which is Earth, are running a video game empire in Tokyo. They are using the video games to brainwash kids and adults into killing machines. If Daniel is going to defeat them this time, he's going to need some help from some unlikely new friends.
At the beginning of the book, Daniel is waiting in line at the Game Consortium, the video game empire ran by Number 7 and 8. He is waiting to play a game called Game of Thrones IV, but is really just investigating the situation. He bumps into a security guard carrying a box full of guns. In an effort to find out what is going on, he rematerializes his old, dead, best friends out of his own memory. Dana, Joe, Willie, and Emma help him follow the security guard. When he enters the room, he is in an auditorium filled with teenagers playing a first-person shooter video game. On the stage, mannequins disguised as monsters and persons of authority were lined. The screens on the small televisions in front of them suddenly read "Change Weapons," and as it did, they grabbed the guns at their feet, marched to the stage, and shot all the persons of authority, leaving the monsters completely unharmed. Then the screens read "Game Over," and they all collapsed to the floor, dead. Later, on a bus to a hotel, Daniel and his crew see some badly disguised aliens tormenting a family. They take care of the situation, then are introduced to the family. The Murkami's, as they are referring to as themselves on Earth, are actually from the planet Alpar Nok, the same home planet as Daniel. They become friends and Daniel learns a few new skills from them.
Later on, he is spying on Number 7 and 8 in their penthouse, and Number 1, the Prayer, the same alien who killed his parents, showed up. He explained that they must do whatever they can to destroy Daniel, but not right now, because a new alien had arrived. A Plieonid is known for its amazing abilities. Number 7 and 8 loved going to planets, destroying every single one of it's inhabitants, thus eradicating them from existence, then leave. Seeing as this was the last Plieonid, they assumed they had to destroy it. They enlisted the help of their son, Kildare, to help. Daniel decided to get an upper hand and befriend Kildare. He finds Kildare at school on top of a trophy case wedged into a garbage can, a result of some bullies. He helps him down and they're instantly friends. The night of the hunt for the Plieonid, Daniel follows Kildare. He finds him in a field talking to the Plieonid, who appears to be his friend. Daniel reveals himself, and the Plieonid runs away. Daniel chases and finally catches the Plieonid in the top of a Buddha statue. The Plieonid gives Daniel a sense of pliechromatech, the thing that makes Plieonid's so rare and valuable, before being devoured by a hunter.
Daniel, still recollecting from the loss, goes to the Game Consortium along with Kildare to face Number 7 and 8. The two, composed of billions of little individual particles, dissolve into one being. The giant gaseous form then proceed to dissolve and consume their own son, Kildare. Daniel is beaten and then knocked into unconsciousness by the gaseous alien. While unconscious, he teleports himself to the top of the Buddha statue again. Dana is there, and gives him some helping advice. He goes back to the school and finds Kildares' ant farm. At the bottom, Kildare, who was really big into science, had left a note containing some chemical formulas. Daniel went to a secluded beach to study the formulas, but was interrupted by Number 7 and 8 in an almost Godzilla-ish form. He destroys them by mixing the chemicals with the salt water in the ocean, but is traumatized, because he thought he could save his friend, Kildare. Just then, Kildare shows up behind him, but explains the irony behind the fact that, even though his parents fought to eradicate planets and leave species extinct, they were the last three of their kind. He then explained that his species can't function themselves until full maturity, and since he was the last one, he was inevitably going to perish. Daniel sobbed as his friend dissolved before his eyes.
At the end of the book, Daniel is back at a hotel with the Murkami's, his friends, and his family. They are celebrating an Alpar Nokian holidary called Gathering Day, but Daniel isn't much for this celebration. He goes to the balcony with Dana, where she tells him everything is going to be all right but it isn't fair how much loss he has had to go through already in his life. Then his father comes out and asks for a private word with Daniel. The book ends with his father telling Daniel that even though he has lost all his family and friends, he wants him to imagine what it would be like to lose a son.

The fourth book of James Patterson’s Daniel X series consists of the bane of most teenage boys: Video Games. Daniel is faced with the challenge of taking down not one, but two, of the top ten most dangerous aliens on Terra Firma.
Now in the heart of Japan in the city of Tokyo Daniel is to take down Numbers 7 & 8 of The List. Having been disguised as the “power couple” of the gaming industry for many years Ellie and Colin Gygax own the most revolutionary gaming company, providing the most graphic and addictive games of the 21st Century.
Undergoing many challenges Daniel finds a friend in the Gygax’s son, Kildare, who doesn’t agree with what his parents do or their idea of “fun.” Number 7 & 8 are colony aliens that consist of many small particles that they can control which allows them to “shape shift” or change their appearance.
But even after all Daniel has done, his friends and family don’t think he’ll be able to beat the “power couple” of Tokyo, Japan, especially if The Prayer is involved.
The murderer that haunts Daniel in his nightmares is seemingly the leader of all the numbers in the top ten. Claiming that he has to “replace” the numbers that Daniel has already slain he states that if Number 7 & 8 fail to hunt down Daniel or the Pleionid that he’ll kill them himself.
Revealing a new possible ally Daniel goes off in search of the Pleionid who shows Daniel the powers of that he posses before sacrificing himself and allowing Daniel to escape.
Hardened by the death of his Pleionid friend Kildare helps Daniel when his parents appear and consume him. Kildare, like his parents, is a colony alien which allows him to escape some situations but keeps him trapped in others.
Facing Kildare’s parents with the formula that Kildare left for him, Daniel is confident in what he can do.
Even if The Prayer stopped him from going back in time it doesn’t matter because Daniel doesn’t need time on his side. He has science.
Using the ocean’s salty waves to his advantage Daniel destroys Numbers 7 & 8 but when Kildare admits that he too will disperse Daniel is devastated.
As a younger colony alien Kildare was fed by his parents and they were the last three of their kind.
In shock at his loss Daniel steels himself and wants more than ever to go after The Prayer who killed his parents and sentenced his friend to death but his father makes him wonder.
Faced with the hard choice Daniel must face the question. Is he strong enough to go against The List’s numero uno or should he bide his time?
And what would his father think? How would his father feel if he lost?
Daniel’s father now plays a monumental role in Daniel’s life even after death but how much of a role does Daniel play in his father’s?
“You know what it’s like to lose a best friend.” His father said. “Promise me you’ll at least try to understand what it would be like to lose…a son.”

The Author’s Purpose for writing this book is to entertain the reader. I would say that the author does this by putting funny parts and parts that have a lot action in them to really make the reader want to read more. I would say that the readers age is a factor in the fact that to young of a reader wouldn’t get what was going on in this book and too old of a reader just wouldn’t find it extremely entertaining compared to other books they might like. With that in mind I would say that the readers age for this book would range form younger teens to young adult. The Subject of the story is that Daniel the main character is trying to stop an extremely powerful alien couple from destroying the would by brain washing the people who play their video games and making them hurt other people. In this book I would say that the fact that its first person protagonist point of view helps because it helps you to understand better what that person is going through as they are going about their business in the progression of the story.
I would say the theme of this book is that its not about having the power to do anything but being able to learn how to use that power in the correct way. The biggest example of this is when Daniel is fighting with 7 and 8 who are colonial beings who have just taking their son and Daniel has to figure out how to fight a 7 and 8 who are in cloud form well not hurting their son. Another example is when Daniel is trying to save an alien from a giant lizard who is trying to eat it when he tries to turn into an diamond rod the giant lizard almost breaks him and the alien lets the giant lizard eat him to save Daniel.
This book is a narration because it tells the story of how Daniel saves the world by going to Tokyo, finding #’s 7 and 8 on the inter-galactic outlaws list and destroying them and their many alien henchmen who hunt Daniel and his friends throughout the story. Another reason is because the book goes in chronological order from when Daniel arrives in Tokyo to when he destroys 7 and 8.
I really like this book because it had a lot of action and funny moments that I found to be very entertaining. The Only thing that I did not like about this book is the fact that it ended very abruptly and the fact that the two people that Daniel could have been friend with during and after the story ended up dyeing very suddenly and for not very good reason. I did like though when Daniel and the family who were trapped in Tokyo celebrated one of their people’s holidays by having a huge party. I would say that this book is similar to the lighting thief series because the main character usually has to stop someone from destroying the world or his friends. In both there is also a lot of humor and a lot of action.

You think your jobs stinks? Try doing what Daniel X does. Without being paid.

Daniel X the Alien Hunter returns in the fourth book of the Daniel X book series. Being a teenager Alien Hunter isn't easy. Especially when you're hunting down aliens Number 8 and Number 7 on the The List of Outlaws on Terra Firma. What's Terra Firma? Earth. Daniel's adventure takes place in Tokyo, Japan in Game Over by James Patterson.

This book is action packed, full of thrills, and awesome/funny comments. Want to read one of those awesome comments? Look at the ones below!
"Ahhh!" I yelled, falling to the floor in mock agony. (Well, not exactly "mock." Those boxes were heavy.)

"I'm so sorry to trouble you, sir," I said, extracting myself from the pile. "I'll be on my way, but let me help you with these boxes first."
The clerk looked momentarily confused, cearly not the cleverest creature to step off a UFO. A good tip to remember: politeness and civility throw a goon every time.

Seriously, I love the Daniel X series and I was not disappointed. Daniel's a teenager like me, so I can understand some of his 'teen issues'. You know, the ones that aren't caused by aliens trying to kill you while you're trying to kill them.

This book was a bit shorter than others that I've read so far this year, but it was totally worth it. As I said before, I ♥ Daniel X. The fact that he was hunting down two alien outlaws at once this time got me excited, because he hadn't done that before in the previous three books.

As soon as I finished this book, I got the one that comes after it. There was only one part in the book where I didn't know exactly how to react. I didn't know if I should be upset, excited, or what. Want to know what that moment was? When he referred to Maximum Ride. O.0 With how the last book of that series ended, I felt a bit annoyed. But since I loved the first books in the series, I felt a bit excited too. What does that equal? Confused teenager emotions.

Anyways.......LOVE THE ENDING! It was a bit sad...But it was awesome! :D If I add up everything about the book......5 stars. Duh!

I recommend to James Patterson fans. If you've read at least the first Daniel X book, you can read this one too! But only after you've read the previous two books! If you've read the first Maximum Ride book, you should enjoy this. ^-^

In the past couple of years, dystopian and science fiction novels have become extraordinarily popular. These novels have all shown us how the world looks before or after something immense destroys most of the human race (Divergent, The Maze Runner, and Ender’s Game). Now the mass destruction will try to have the human race terminate itself. James Patterson’s Daniel X: Game Over is the latest of its series. It’s a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat at the end of every chapter, every page, and every paragraph.
Our main character Daniel is an alien hunter from Terra Firma. He is trying to stop two specific aliens from abolishing the human race. As we go through the story, we see Daniel has special abilities, and is in danger along with the entire human population. Later on, he becomes “friends” with the enemy’s son so he can build his plan to stop the evil aliens and get more information on their ideas.
Daniel X is a novel very much like Ender’s Game, The Fifth Wave, and Battleship. Aliens come to earth to destroy it, or take it over. In all three of those novels, there seems to be a large army trying to defend the planet and one main character who saves it all. In Daniel X, we find it is just Daniel defending Earth. You would think his friends would help him fight, but they cannot.
James Patterson has set this in a today-like tone. He does a good job of keeping that tone while there are aliens taking over earth. For example, he refers to popular topics of today’s society (Godzilla, and Xbox). It is set in Tokyo, which is a big hub for technology.
Patterson does the unexpected to you when you’re not ready, like a roller coaster that you’ve never been on. He made me feel happy, sad, and tense. For example, Daniel had been hiding in a bamboo stalk, watching over a rare species and someone talk about important plans and tactics. I felt my blood rushing because if he was seen, he could’ve been killed or injured. Patterson gets your blood rushing, and rushing, then you take a breath, and realize everything is fine.
I enjoyed the thrill of this book. I’m quite frustrated with the end, but I’ll have to wait for the next book. Daniel X kept me reading chapter after chapter, and it’ll make you too!

“‘Their virtual hunting games have become real hunting games?’”

I don’t really know what to say. I read the first three a few years ago, and maybe that’s just the reason this was not one of my favorite books. It was enjoyable, but I guess I just wasn’t as into it. I really can’t blame the book, because Daniel x is probably one of the first series I have read, but… well I really don’t know what to say. Fortunately I picked this book up at the library so I didn’t waste my money. I also picked the 4th book (Armageddon) up as well. I’ll probably wait a few days until I read it, but I hope its better.

What I liked:

•I feel like we saw a lot more of Dana in this book, and that’s always good because she’s one of my favorite characters.
•The aliens! In this book Daniel hunts number 7, and number 8. He doesn’t know much about them, but throughout the book you learn more in bits and pieces. Also not only are they aliens, but I also liked the way they planned to take over the world.

What I didn’t enjoy:
•I feel Daniel was a little careless in everything he did. I know it was part of the plot and all, but it got a little childish.
•The fact that he barely know Kildare (Number 7, and 8’s child) and then suddenly they’re best friends and ready to risk their lives for one another.
•I feel the problem was resolved a little too quickly. The chase was great and all, but it was just like Daniel snapped his fingers and the aliens were taken care of.
•Sometimes Daniel was in the midst of fighting and then he’d be backed up in a corner and then he’d basically forget that he has powers, and then all the sudden *light bulb* and he was good.

Overall:

A book that I would recommend for 5th-6th graders maybe a few older teens as well that enjoy alien hunting, and fast packed action.

“I wanted to run and hide. I wanted to teleport myself to another continent or, heck, another planet. But this was Number 1.I couldn’t afford to get distracted. And, most of all, I couldn’t afford to miss this chance to find out what he was doing here.”

Patterson, James and Rust, Ned. Daniel X, Game Over. (September 2011) New York, NY .Little Brown and Company. 229 pgs.
Not every day you can travel all over the world, fighting aliens, and going back in time. That’s Daniels life every day. Daniel and his companions go around Tokyo, Japan to hunt down KIlldare’s parents, the evil aliens in the top ten most deadly list. On his journey he runs into aliens number 7 and 8’s minions. SO threw out the book he tries to hunt down Killdare’s mom and dad. Daniel X is a 15 year old boy from Terra Ferma, the planet we know as Earth. He is an alien hunter, so he has some really cool powers like shape shifting, freezing time, and imagining things them bringing them into reality. His best friends Willy, Emma, Joe and Dana, his crush, all died in a fire when he was a child, Along with his parents. So he imagines them up and have some company and help if needed to destroy aliens. KIlldare is the child of aliens 7 and 8, but he hates their guts and joins forces with Daniel on his journey to destroy his parents.
The problem is, aliens 7 and 8 have been training children our age and a little bit older, to hunt and kill humans and other aliens. Daniel also has to figure out HOW he is going to stop the evil plans without destroying the kids in the process. Aliens 7 and 8 just laugh at Daniel as he tries to succeed, at the same time leading him into their trap.
This book was, Hilarious, Extraordinary, lively, and all around amazing. I was on my toes thrown out the whole book! This book is in a series, The Daniel X series. It’s about Daniel trying to save the world from the top 10 most wanted aliens. James Patterson also writes the Maximum Ride series, the Witch and the Wizard series and his newest series, Middle school, the worst years of my life. I really enjoyed this book . I would recommend Game Over to people who like fantasy and realistic collide, and this book is for all ages.

Daniel X: Game Over
By Yusuf Isaacs

James Patterson. A very nice writer in my opinion. In his series Daniel X, or at least in my book, Daniel X: Game Over, he has a good writing style. He has this creativity in the book that hooks you on. Whether it's with the characters, the events inside the book, or the story in general, it seems very unique. Obviously, some parts aren't too unique, just like all books, such as the ending where things end how you'd expect. I'm a reader who only likes certain books, not depending on the genre, the style of writing, nothing, but the plot and story of the book. Some books just hook me on and make me want to keep on reading, just like this one.

The book is about Daniel, a teenage boy, who has a crazy life. He's an alien hunter. He's spent most of his life doing this, after his parent and sister died to Number 1, the most wanted alien on the Top 10 List. At the moment he's on the hunt for Number 7 and 8, two married aliens who are planning to brainwash kids with their video games, and he has to stop them, with his “friends”. I put friends in quotations because, well, they're not real, you see, Daniel is also an alien, but not bad, like the Top 10 List. He has powers, such as shape shifting, teleportation, and bringing his imaginations to life is a way to say the last one. He can bring his friends or dead family to the real world, and people like you and me would see them, except he could just make them just disappear.

Overall, I think the book is very nicely written, and has a good plot. Like I said, some parts lure you in, but there are some parts that are predictable and and boring you could say. I would give this book a 5/5.

Over the summer I have read a lot of books. Daniel X: Game Over by James Patterson and Ned Rust has to be my favorite. Throughout the plot we follow a teenager Daniel X. Daniel is not the normal teenager… he is an alien from another planet. He is on earth to complete a mission that his parents never finished, killing all the bad aliens on Terra Firma (Earth). In the fourth installment of the series, Daniel X is faced with a new problem that he is not prepared for, fighting Number 7 and Number 8 on the List of Deadliest Alien Outlaws on the Earth. Throughout the book Daniel is met with many difficult challenges from bad dreams to an unexpected visit.

My love of sci-fi and action/adventure books propelled me to want to start the series and in turn pick up this specific book. I really enjoyed this book, but a few small parts could have been better. I liked it so much in fact that I wish the book was longer. Throughout some parts in the story I felt there was a missing that could have been filled. Another issue I had was that we could have had more interactions with the antagonists. All in all the book is a must read!

I would suggest this book for anyone who wants to have a laugh and is open to having the feeling of being a character in the book. This book is great for kids who want to have an amazing story to read before bed time or the working adult wanting a relief of stress after a tough day. I would also suggest going to pick up the rest of the series, I know you will have a great time.

Daniel X Game Over (Daniel X 4)
James Patterson
ISBN 978-0-316-10178-3
U.S.A. $16.99

In this installment of Daniel X, Daniel travels to Tokyo to take down Number 7 and Number 8. This means that these two are the 7th and 8th hardest villians on planet Earth. Number 7 and 8 (a married couple) are the owners of the most popular video game company and are planning to use that popularity to kill. They want to make a shooter game come to life and kill everyone. To get the information he wants, Daniel must befriend their son Kildare. He then finds out that he really lies Kildare and finds it hard to use him like that.
My opinion on this book is that James Patterson uses a style of writing that is funny, action-packed, and sad at times. I really thought that the story to this novel was really good. Daniel goes all over Tokyo to get what he needs to save the world.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action, humor, some mystery, and adventure. I think that this book is more for kids and teens than adults and both boys or girls would like this exciting story.

Daniel X: Game Over is an amazing book. After taking down the third most dangerous alien in the universe, he goes to Japan to take on Number 7 and Number 8. They go by Mr. and Mrs. Gygax and they are multi-millionaire video game designers and dangerous aliens who kill and eat the last kind of exotic species. They plan to destroy the world by brainwashing teens to kill everything in sight when they play their new game, Crown of Thorns IV. To stop them, Daniel befriends their son, Kildare, to try to learn about how and when the mass murder will happen. But over a series of events, Daniel truly befriends Kildare and a genius alien with telepathic abilities called a Pleionid, who is Number 7 and 8's next meal. I rated this book 5 stars because it's really good, and I related a lot of things in this book to a teenage boy's life. But this book is also very sad. Such as, when the Pleionid dies, and later, Kildare. But the other parts are funny and exciting. Overall, I recommend this book to teens and people who like science fiction, action and adventure, and comedy books. I recommend this because some people don't like books with aliens and super powers or fiction books.

Okay, I love James Patterson, and his writing style is awesome and refreshing. But at this point the series is just driving me insane! First of all, I find Daniel, like, the most annoying character ever. He's cocky and smarmy and superior just way to powerful. It's like, here I am this hero protagonist Alien guy. Going up against thousands of all-powerful aliens! Oh horror! Except wait, I can manipulate matter into ANYTHING I want. Like, period. And I can transform myself. Oh, and I can read minds. And fly. And time travel, isn't that neat! But wait, there's more! Now it turns out I can do freaking anything as long as I can ENVISION it and I know how it works - meaning ANYTHING I WANT. I can disintegrate. I can form huge mega-ray blasters.
It's like, way too over the top and so annoying, because he can do everything! It just makes the plot seem stupid and repetitive, as well as ridiculous and unfair.
And Daniel totally lets it get to his head!

I can't say I didn't enjoy reading this book, but it's just insane.

"When Daniel X discovers that a duo of evil extraterrestrials is plotting to control kids around the world through videogames, he's determined to take them both out of commission. This pair of wicked game masters wants to destroy the human race by turning brainwashed videogamers into an unstoppable army of doom!"

This could totally happen...maybe. I love the idea though, that videogames can completely control you. Creepy.

Awesome! I thinks it's the best of the Daniel X novels so far! Exciting, and always keeps you guessing.
But why did Kildare have to DIE!? He was so nice and daniel's only true friend that isn't already dead. Oops spoilers!
I have the next book here right next to me and I'm going to read that right now.
Can't wait to see what happens when Daniel goes up against The Prayer, Number 1 on the Alien List of Out Laws on Terra Firma!

Another great chapter in the Daniel X series! Can't wait for the next one! My love for this book is slightly bittersweet however since the ending is so sad! These books are beautifully written in a very realistic and cinematic tone. The author doesn't waste time on lengthy descriptions, and yet we can see everything Daniel sees so clearly. It's genius storytelling!

4th book in the Daniel X series… This is a very quick and entertaining read. J.P. books are fun to read and I’ll continue pick them up as they come out. I'm not sure of the 4 star rating, but I don't think it was deserving of 3 either...didn't see a way to give half stars. I do like the stories though...what's not to like about an alien hunter?

What a great way to keep the series going! Daniel has to befriend Number 7 & 8's son so he can destroy them. It's kinda funny. I do wish that Kildare was still alive. He was Daniel's only friend, and vice versa. It's hard to lose someone who's very close to you, but you gotta fight through it. that's what I love about these books. Even when the main character is in pain, he never gives up.

This was quite painful to read as the dialogue is clearly written by an adult trying to sound like how he thinks a teenager would sound. Furthermore, there are gobs of plot holes, including the whole video game concept which takes a severe back seat in the story to the point that it's almost a McGuffin.

This book was... okay. As usual with James Patterson's novels it was fast-paced and contained tons of humor. However, I just felt like I couldn't get into this book. I'm greatful it was a very quick read. It only took a couple hours to get from cover to cover.
