It's architect Ashley Meyers's job to create functional and beautiful living spaces. Her latest assignment is Mason Gregory's master bedroom. From their first meeting, Ashley knows it will be difficult to focus on Mason's bedroom without daydreaming about his bed.
To keep Goodreads reader-oriented, Alanna does not leave ratings on books she's read, nor does she comment on reviews, but she appreciates each and every reader who invests time in her work.
Always a voracious reader, Alanna began writing poetry in grade school, and short stories in high school. She started her first novel, Wyoming Solace, years ago with a legal pad and pencil, often written in the wee hours of the morning when she needed something to do to relax. Before long the story lived on her computer desktop, where it sat patiently awaiting periodic visits from the reluctant writer. After her first release, she moved to romantic suspense and contemporary romance, but keeps the cowboys close to her heart.
She loves to write stories to keep a reader guessing, and surprise them in the end.
Alanna continues to write love stories, because who doesn’t love a happy ending?

A very short story that was surprisingly very cute and fun to read. When architect and room renovation designer Ashley Meyers is assigned the "small project" for a makeover of millionaire Mason Gregory's master bedroom, she never imagines what lies ahead. And then HE walks into her office standing 6 feet tall, golden blonde hair and blue eyes. There's just one problem - KEEPING IT PROFESSIONAL. This book is filled with really witty and flirty dialogue between Mason and Ashley when they share phone calls each morning. As soon as the project is complete, there's nothing standing between these two, and the heat that has been simmering between them bursts into flames.
A sugary sweet perfect romance between two sugary sweet perfect characters. It was cute but a little bland after reading about sword-wielding magical vampire slayers. Really fun banter and flirting, though!
SO CUTE!! I'm very pleasantly surprised with this little freebie. It's a short little contemporary romance about an architect who remodels a master bedroom for a rich hottie. They have awesome chemistry and some great banter. I couldn't help but smile while reading this. If you're looking for a short little pick-me-up, this worked for me!
**MINOR SPOILERS** This novella is the first in Preview duology. It can be read as a standalone. The second story is longer and tells the story of Ashley’s best friend, Ryann. At the time of this writing, on amazon, this novella was listed as first in a series, but the second book listed is incorrect and not by this author. Ashley is hired to do an architectural design for a bedroom. Mason has a beautiful home with a view and wants to combine two bedrooms into one and to take advantage of the view. Ashley and Mason immediately are attracted to each other, but Ashley does not want to accept a date until the job is complete. While they are waiting, Mason calls her everyday just to talk, though some of the talk is very flirtatious or a little suggestive. The book is a nice story about the beginning of a relationship that seems like it will last. The point of view alternated between Ashley and Mason’s perspective, but most of the story was from Ashley’s point of view. It is a quick story with likeable characters.
Ashley Meyers is an architect with Dooley Simon Architecture and Design, Mason Gregory is a client that she is hired to design a master bedroom in his Colorado home. Ashley is at first not very enthusiastic about the project, that changes upon meeting Mason and seeing photos of his home. As the project takes off Ashley finds herself attracted to her client, however her professional ethics dictate she not get romantically involved until the work is done.
Ashley and Mason are both strong characters, watching them get to know each other through daily phone calls the reader gets a sense of these two characters personalities finding them very nicely matched and hoping for the mutual attraction to be allowed to finally be acted on.
The author has taken a short story and given it's characters and plot depth that is very enjoyable from start to finish.
Pleasantly surprised by this short romance. It was well written with likeable characters and the right amount of tension right up to the inevitable end. A good wholesome cookie with the right amount of sugar and chocolate chips.
It is unfortunate that the author hasn't taken the time to write a blurb or give the book a title that reflects just how good this is. Tossing a wee story out there into the big world without any kind of protection. At the end of the short story there is an excerpt of [[ASIN:B005GF2ZVG PreView]] a full length novel, which features the best friend Ryann from this book. This author also writes 'spicier' stories under the name of Olivia Brynn. One to look out for I think.
This was a cute story. It seemed to go too fast though, or maybe there weren't that many pages to begin with. It would have been better if it were longer of course.
What exactly was the point of Ashley having a friend, Ryann, who had prophetic dreams? I didn't understand that. Is there another book that has more of her in it or something?
A third of the way through there's a part where Ashley shows up right when they're about to start the demolition. "She curled her fingers into fists before she reach out to pull him closer." (Yet she never does that.) "He watched her mouth with every word she spoke. 'I have one question that Mac can't answer.'" (She wasn't the one talking, he was.)
Another great book by Alanna Coca. Even though it was on the short side, I would highly recommend it. This story is about Ashley and Mason. She is a room designer and Mason has a bedroom that he wants re-designed. Once he meets Ashley the sparks start to fly. I thought this was a funny and sexy story. The storm scene had me at the edge of my seat. The dialogue between the main characters was fantastic. I enjoyed the phone banter. I'm looking forward to reading about Ryann - Ashley's friend with physic abilities.
There are time when you get these free books & you just think why did I do this to myself again. Well, let me tell you this IS NOT ONE OF THOSE TIMES. This is really just a feel good short love story. With two normal professionals who come together & fall for one another. I just enjoyed their morning phone calls & sat on edge for her final drive to Mason's home. I loved how Ashley even showed pride in her work ethics even when her friend said go for it. Just an all around good love story but short.
This was a hot little surprise. From a 'free' novella sitting on my TBR for ages, I finally decided to check out the first chapter...then the next...couldn't put down until I was finished. I liked the slow burn, the author took her time with these two getting to know each other, building a friendship, building the attraction, and the anticipation. So when they finally came together, you certainly get a physical reaction - it was HOT!!! Will definitely read more, perfect for those 'in-between books' short hot reads.
I wanted to see more out of the relationship. A courtship over the phone is a little too old school. Should've thrown in some emails and texting and things that are more easily understood these days. Also seemed a bit too over the top with the car sliding off the road and her having no signal and trekking through the "wilderness" to get to his house. Kinda lame.
This was better than expected. Not a long story, but was put together well. Both characters had a few quirks and seemed to make a decent fit. Have to question someone who loves design as much as claimed but could hold so little love for their car.. just sayin' that part bugged me. Just downloaded another shortie from this author.. off to read that.
Short story (~40 pages) A lot of dialogues. The characters are just outlined and do not have much depths. The story is OK. At the end, I thought I might read some other books from this author. 2,5 stars actually
This is a highly entertaining short story. I really enjoy the light, breezy attitude of the main character, Ashley. She's fun and flirty without going overboard. I am intrigued by her friend, Ryann, and will continue to read the author's other works.
It's a love story where the characters fall in love and that's it. No sordid pasts, no crazy ex, no lies, no casual sex, no twists just two people getting to know each other and falling in love.
on the cover the people look really old but really in the book they are not so yeh dont read a book by its cover and think its gunna be a grose romance filled with pensioners flirting and ya know ! really its not ! its a good book!
I don't usually read stories like this because books like this can become so cheesy. The banter back and forth about dinner just proved it to me. The ending was what I had expected and enjoyed but the chapters before it wasn't too exciting. I guess for a free book it was alright
This was fun to read and had a couple good steamy scenes. I liked the characters and look forward to reading the next one. I liked the phone calls too. That was sweet and kinda romantic. Definitely a shorter read but great for a pick-me-up or relaxing. Good-time. Enjoy!
Such a cute story! I love that Ashley stuck to her guns throughout the whole project. I love that Mason doesn’t give in, and continuously asks Ashley to dinner. And then, after reading the intro to PreView, I need more. I can’t wait to read the next story!
Ashley is Masons architect. They fall hard for each other but she doesn't date clients. After one kiss and phone calls every day for two weeks the jobs finally done. As expected they end up together in the big king bed in the room with a view that Ashley designed. Nice little read
this was a short and sweet romance. enjoyable characters that keep the reader smiling at the characters playful personalities. definitely a fun and enjoyable experience.
This book was a novela. Just not much to it. H KA a writer, h is an architect, H perseus h, they have sex but it's a fade to black scene and the end. It was a free book.
With a View... A Room with a View is not a view without someone to share it with you. Will they get to share the view together or apart? read to find out more but i can say it is a great book to read
