Diminishing Magic #2

Flames of Gold

Rate this book
Well, that didn’t go according to plan.

So far, my life had been a series of impossible trials—which I overcame, thankyouverymuch—only to end in a violent death. Sort of. Maybe? It’s complicated. While I’m definitely in Netheria, the place where Magicals go when they die, I’m definitely not dead. I’m more like dead adjacent.

Good news? A crazy queen Seer tells me my boyfriend(ish) werewolf Wells, will get me out of Netheria. Hooray! The bad news is once I get back to the land of the living, I have to complete more of those aforementioned trials before we can have, um, relations of the carnal persuasion.

Rely hazy, try again.

Has she seen the smokeshow that is Wells?

Naughty thoughts aside, everyone’s counting on me and my special genetic makeup to do something that’s yet again, impossible. And I have to do it before the magic in our world runs out. If I don’t, we’re talking about a doomsday, total annihilation, don’t let the door hit ya where the good Mage split ya scenario for humans and Magicals, alike. I’m determined—way determined—to get the trials done so I can gain enough magic to open the Conduit to save the world. (And, you know, ahem, the other thing.)

I won’t let anyone, or anything stand in my way. Including the utterly impossible person who arrives at the camp, eyeing my wolf.

This is the continuation of a steamy romance full of humor, heart, and heat. It's perfect for fans of Kelly St. Clare or Leia Stone. Or anyone who ever used a Magic 8-Ball.

Praise for Jewels of Clay, book one of the Diminishing Magic
-- I devoured this book in one evening, it will NOT disappoint.
--This book is a must read, I absolutely loved it! The amount of action, spice and sassy attitude was fantastic! I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I NEED to know what happens!
--The main character reminds me of Elise Castillo from Dark Fae and a mix of Dru Anderson. Read it!
--The characters take you on a crazy emotional ride! I laughed and cried! There's lots (of) innuendo's. definitely some sexual tension between characters.

Cat Collins

Cat Collins is the #1 bestselling author in her home. No really, her husband wrote a training manual for work once. Sold one copy to his boss. She writes what she likes to read: swoony alphas, witty dialogue, and steamy scenes that make your heart (and various other parts) flutter.

Her Diminishing Magic series has garnered praise from reviewers and a 5-start Readers’ Favorite review for its hilarious banter, sexual tension between characters, and turns you never see coming. Described as a "twisty bundle of fun,” and a “rollercoaster ride you won’t want to get off,” the series includes elemental magic, wolf shifters, and a main character who's full of sass.

A reading interventionist by day, and a reader and binge-watcher by night, Cat lives in the Southern US with her aforementioned husband, two kids, and two cats, one of whom likes to edit as Cat is writing by jumping on the keyboard unexpectedly. Any stray typos must certainly be the work of Poe.

She loves connecting with readers on social media. Check her out @CatCollinsBooks on most platforms.

Cat Collins knows what she is doing! I was hooked since book one and waited on pins and needles for book two to release. Flames of Gold did not disappoint. Terra’s spunk is always top notch and Wells just seems to get hotter! I can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store.

wow, did not see that coming

I’m gobsmacked by the twists in this book. I did not in any way see them coming so 5 stars for that alone. Can’t wait for book 3 now. Great fantasy romance with lots of obstacles and heartbreak along the way.

The second half was sooo good and I consumed the pages in one sitting. The first half seemed to drag for me, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed Flames of Gold. Looking forward to the next one!

Cat Collins drew us with Jewels of Clay, and then dragged us under with Flames of Gold. This book will make you laugh, cry, and be embarrassed with the characters. Get ready for an ending that you don't see coming too. Book 3 can't come out soon enough!!
