As its title, this book offers not only an overview of literature review (LR) writing process but extensive concepts and advice which are necessary for anyone who wants to begin their research path and currently struggling with LR writing. It is relatively well-written with simple language and clear explanation that facilitate my efforts to grab the main points of the content. I also like the way the author summarises his ideas in boxes after each chapter, which is easy for me to follow without needing to read every single word of the book. He also highlights common pitfalls to help readers to be aware of common mistakes while writing LR.

Having said that, I feel like the author is predisposed to giving examples of qualitative research when dissecting the literature review structures. There is a greater preponderance of interpretive research design illustrations in his analysis. I just wish he could provide more instances of how to write a literature review in a specific quantitative research article.

Generally speaking, this book is worth reading. It will be greater if the book is used with other related practice materials.
